The story takes place in the year 2138 when virtual reality gaming is booming. Yggdrasil, a popular online game is quietly shut down one day. However, the protagonist Momonga decides to not log out. Momonga is then transformed into the image of a skeleton as "the most powerful wizard." The world continues to change, with non-player characters (NPCs) beginning to feel emotion. Having no parents, friends, or place in society, this ordinary young man Momonga then strives to take over the new world the game has become.

Really exited about this anime it seems like a new direction for the Game anime genre as the MC isn't trying to the game leave like most cases ,like most times , but rather he is trying to take over his new world.

It looks like it will be a great series considering that it's made by Madhouse (the guys who brought us Death Note , Black Lagoon , Hellsing Ultimate , Claymore , Kiseijuu Sei no Kakuritsu and a whole bunch of other amazing anime)

This looks like its going to be totally epic. Kind of reminds me a little bit of Yu Yu Hakusho.

Anime of the season right here. Totally awesome first episode. He can summon a high class monster like that without even trying, and he has guardians that can beat those monsters. I look forward to seeing what else he can do, as well as what he is going to order his guardians to do. At the very least, I expect this to completely outdo SAO and Accel World.

It's refreshing to see an MC who doesnt look like a human! I like it! Albedo is my fave character. I know she's deeply in love with Momonga but I wish she was a Yandere... I fee like she's bordering yandere, she's even got a great yandere face in the ED! So far great start, it's living up to the hype! .

The first Episode definitely lived up to the hype.

I am hoping that the series can keep up and better what we've seen so far.

I also wish to see more of how Momonga plans to deal with his new world and how he deals with the fact that he can't actually see how much HP / MP he has.

Interesting setting and start with Momonga being trapped in the server with his new life-like NPCs, but not much really happened after that.

Hope to see what dangers and conflict are in this world and the true extent of Momonga's abilities in this new Yggdrasil.

I also wonder if we'll ever see any glimpses of the real world?

Episode two was great. While I'm a bit displeased that Albedo turned out to be a yandere, I'm not really surprised at all. It should be interesting to see him clash with the other guy near the end. Seeing that all of his subordinates are all high powered, and that its only a one cour anime, I have a feeling he is just going to plow on through, as there is no real chance for development of antagonists. Also, really love the ED.

It was interesting to see that the guardians knew that they were created by the "supreme beings" (the players) and that they left also it seems that the dungeon/castle has moved and that could create a whole new mess as it seems that the whole "world" has changed.

I hope that Momo can get to the bottom of why there are still effects from the game (ie: cant equip items not in your class and so forth) it would be interesting to see how he would do so.

It seems like there is another with world conquest in mind and he is already acting on it , I wonder how Momo will handle him.

Really liked the episode this week. Seeing Momonga just dominate without any effort was pretty cool. Also, it should be interesting to see how he plays a role in the current world conflicts. I do wonder if the guild that was mentioned is a place for people trapped in the game, or if they are NPCs as well. I have a feeling if this is two cour, then the undeads that work under Momonga might be restless in helping the humans at some point.

Honestly, after the second episode I was so close to dropping this series - mainly due to Albedo's ridiculous pandering towards Momonga. But it seems she can be serious after all when the two are outside Nazarick.

Glad we're finally outside Nazarick, combat scenes were great and Momonga learning more about the regions by liaising with the village leader was very intriguing. Looking forward to what's coming up..

I quite enjoyed this episode as it not only showed Momo's power in comparison to that of the common knight and his loss of humanity , which I think may have affects later on in the anime.

It also showed that there is apparently a lack of non humans in what used to be Yggdrasil as the former NPC's now act scared of what used to be a more common face (Momo's skull face) I am wondering how this will affect things or if it will even be explored.

Really enjoyed this week's episode. It was pretty funny seeing him beat the crap out of that guy's trump card. I do wonder if he will face a decent opponent, or if all of them will just fall over because he is so strong. Also, I am a bit curious to see if anyone else was left in the game.

Rather slow episode this week. I did like how he chose to be in his knight form during this episode. I was thinking that he would have his skeleton face when he took off his helmet. I hope something happens other than a battle next episode, like finding some clue about the world. Also, I really wish this was a 24 episode anime instead, as the pacing seems better for it.

Yeah, I was wondering how he was in comparison, but also, remember with his passive skills, he can neglect damage that the head warrior couldn't. So, he is easily stronger than one of the strongest adventurers in his knight form. Still, I like how his magician form looks much better.

Same here, but rather, I hope he just beats the crap out of her soon by using some low level skill that completely renders her harmless.

True it does look like they lost the plot a little , I hope that the story doesn't fizzle out into a boring anime , especially after all the anticipation and the great fights.

Momo should be meeting the murderous woman in the next episode , FINALLY I'm looking forward to this fight , at least I hope they fight.

I was not expecting the forest guardian to be a giant rodent and that it would be so easily tamed but it was a good laugh.

Ugh... and the one fight I wanted to see has to wait until next episode. Being as Momon says Nabe will be alright, I doubt she will lose. Also, it should be interesting to see the fight since he already mentioned he won't fight her seriously. I would be surprised if she could even scratch Momon since he has that one skill that neglects low level damage, along with super armor, and being that he is undead himself, so yeah.

Really enjoyed this week's episode. I was a bit surprised on seeing how mercilessly he killed Clementine. I am a bit curious on how they are going to wrap this up, or if they aren't and just announce a second season on the last episode maybe. Also, why did Shalltear revolt...?

Ha. I just got done watching it. They did great work on this episode. I would have liked it to be a bit longer and more action and magic. But, like with all great anime. Its short and to the point.

I can't say that I have been pleased with this series as it has gone nowhere , the story has been anticlimactic and of a much lower caliber than it could have been if done properly.

There are two possible endings that I see at the moment for this series , one Momo looses and wakes up IRL , two Momo wins and the series had one of the worst story lines ever made , the only variants would be whether or not another player gets involved which would only be anticlimactic as there would not be enough time to explore any good plot lines with another player in the game world.

The story has gone nowhere , ultimately if the ending is not spectacular this anime was hyped for one or two cool battle scenes and a waste of time.

Yeah, I'm not too impressed either. It had a lot of potential, but the arcs were just skimmed over, and there wasn't anything that tied it all together. It needed to be 2-3 cour if it wanted to do all the arcs it currently has and make it feel better paced and actually having any character feel like it has some meaning.

On a positive note, I'm pretty sure Pandora's Actor was voiced by Mamoru Miyano who has done Okabe Rintarou (Steins;Gate), Ling Yao (FMA:B), Yagami Light (Death Note), etc. which was pretty cool to see.
