The second season of Tokyo Ghoul.

A brilliant series (so far) After seeing the first season of Tokyo Ghoul I have big expectations of this anime , Which it seems to be holding up to.

[spoiler=Episode 1]

Picking up straight where we left off last time Kaneki escapes and rescues Toka and Joins Aogiri .

[spoiler=Episode 2]

With Kaneki now in Aogiri (Somehow immediately in its Highest ranks [ probably due to his ability to take on their current captian's on level footing , with ease or so it seemed when he took on Ayato (Toka's Brother)]) , Toka focuses all her attention on Getting into Kamii U the university that Kaneki used to attend .Aogiri launches an offensive on the CCG and Amon is introduced to his new partner Akira Mado , his former partners daughter , who like her father has some serious personality problems.

[spoiler=Episode 6]

we glimpse the past life of Juzo and we see some development in Amon and Akira's partnership . Kaneki is going through a lot of pain and change. It seems like he will soon attain a new form or gain some new power.

This episode shows more of the emotional side of the story.

Final Episode

[spoiler=Episode 12]

Kaneki finds out that Hideyoshi has known about him the whole time just as Hideyoshi dies.

Touka sees Kaneki walking out of the Anteiku building as it is burning down but is and tries to run to him but is stopped by Yomo.

We see Kaneki stand before Arima before a time skip where we see Touka open her coffee shop up in the morning.

A brilliant ending to the second season of Tokyo Ghoul and a possible hint at a third season.

Any thoughts ?

This season was a bit boring to me.

I love that we got bad-ass Kaneki...yet we barely see much of him. In fact too much time is spent giving attention to everyone else BUT Ken. In season 1, I thought the focused more on character development and you came to understand Ken's character motivation as well as the other characters because it showed you. Season 2 tells you way too much and it focused on the battles more and it was not as much of a payoff.

So many plot points were dropped.

So many ambiguous things were not alluded.....

I Love hide.....but I hated how literally for 2 seasons, all hide has done is literally snoop around. Literally that is all he has done.

Touka spends 2-3 episodes literally RUNNING. All she did was run and then failed to do anything else. Did she lose her powers or something when her brother ate her wings?

Amon impressed me a lot this season. My 2nd favorite character after Ken.

The finale itself was actually surprising. At first I found it boring because nothing really actually happened and it was mainly talking but I like the very subdued and mellow atmosphere it provided.

Overall, I'd say the finale and the previous episode and the one where Ken freaks out and the premiere are the 4 best episodes of the season. Other than that, I was not as impressed with this season.

Hello rebecca11,

FUNimation are doing the English dub for Tokyo Ghoul so if you have a paid subscription you can watch it here:

http://www.funimation.com/shows/tokyo-ghoul/videos

Otherwise you would have to wait until it's released on DVD/Blu-ray. The Japanese DVD/Blu-rays were released towards the end of last year, but no date to my knowledge yet on the FUNimation releases.

I agree with you. This one was kinda boring. So I'm hoping the next season is much better. :S

I ordered the first season BD box set for Tokyo Ghoul a few days ago, and look forward to seeing it soon as it seems to be quite popular!

How's the English dub on this one? Or should I stick with the Japanese audio? :)

Try reading Tokyo ghoul :re

I know, I know, its a manga not an anime, but Its basically what happens after the events of root A, so I would definitely advise reading it ^W^
