Shingeki no Kyojin

Shingeki no Kyojin
Episodes: 25 Start date: End date:

Description

Several hundred years ago, humans were nearly exterminated by titans. Titans are typically several stories tall, seem to have no intelligence, devour human beings and, worst of all, seem to do it for the pleasure rather than as a food source. A small percentage of humanity survived by walling themselves in a city protected by extremely high walls, even taller than the biggest of titans.

Flash forward to the present and the city has not seen a titan in over 100 years. Teenage boy Eren and his foster sister Mikasa witness something horrific as the city walls are destroyed by a super titan that appears out of thin air. As the smaller titans flood the city, the two kids watch in horror as their mother is eaten alive. Eren vows that he will murder every single titan and take revenge for all of mankind.

Hands down one of the best anime of all time in my opinion! It can be very hard for a series to start out exciting & keep that edge of your seat pace but somehow this show pulls it off. Everything from the excellent music to the breathtaking aerial sword fighting...I could not ask for more.

One of the best anime I have seen in a long time. It feels like more and more anime being released are beginning to center on one thing these days, comedy. I hate to say it but it definitely feels that way. When I seen AoT, it hooked me from the very first episode. It has it's slips of humor but it doesn't lose focus on its story like most seem to do.

Shingeki No Kyojin, is the hype worth it?

Honestly, it's kind of hard to answer the question of this title, because really, without the good and bad sections, I'd be bouncing around with my thoughts because of what it's done. That said, hopefully my review will help you understand it enough to enjoy this season, or know that you won't.

The Good
The animation is absolutely stunning. Sometimes when updating the style of the anime simply by improving it's visuals, the feeling of an anime can be lost, but that is simply not the case here. AoT does an absolutely amazing job at handling the updated visuals while still keep the feeling of the show alive.

The story this time around has some really heavy hitters, and they did a good job of not wasting the first episode on what would basically be a recap of the previous season, which would have been easy to do given the four year gap between seasons. Instead it focuses on the story and moves it along brilliantly. In general the story has a lot of revelations that will keep you enticed throughout the whole season.

The Bad
There were some pacing issues. After the first half of the season showing off new details and giving us a better understanding of what's really going on, the whole show screech's to a halt for a few episodes, and for no good reason. I would say that backstory of certain characters was worth watching and that it helped me to enjoy some of the new characters that showed up, but that's simply not true. Considering the last season spent eleven episodes on an arc that could have been done in five to seven episodes, the backstory could have been in there and fixed some of the pacing issues of season one. Instead they showed up in this season causing to start slowing down, and then to make matters worse, a few episodes of pretty much nothing happening were placed in there just to make the 12 episode season work. Sadly, because of those episodes, the finale was rushed for no reason, and made certain events lose their impact because there wasn't enough time to dwell on them or process them before the next big thing happened. The next season in 2018 really needs to do something about that sort of problem.

Only 12 Episodes? Shame 😞

I've been caught up to the manga but before I even read the manga I've seen the 10th episode of this anime.. I got to say, I've been mind blown throughout the whole time. You just never know what's gonna happen, unless you've read the manga.

The Good
This series for both the manga and the anime, it really seems like the author foreshadowed everything... I love it.

The Bad
The only thing that could be better would be the character developments and some more ships ;3 but that is just my personal opinion.

Absolutely great

I love Attack On Titan because it draws you in right from the start, I fell in love with the characters instantly and the art is one of my favorite styles. This was the first Anime I ever really watched and it was absolutely beautiful while being heartbreaking at times, I love the character development and since you get so much on each character I feel like you really get to know and love them which makes it even sadder at times but still ... I love a good Anime that can really make you cry just because you feel so deeply for their protogenist and his friends, it means they did a great job and creating them.

The Good
The art style is absolutely beautiful Eren and his friends instantly make you fall in love with them. The character development is great. I love the story and each characters take on it. I love how anyone can find some one to relate to in AoT, be in smart Armin, fiesty Eren, calm but loving Mikasa, or anyone else because this show introduces so many characters all with their own beliefs and special skills.

The Bad
I personally don't find anything wrong with the Anime. I know some people say the wait time for Season 2 is long but distance makes the heart grow fonder.

One of the best anime ever!

I really love Attack on titan and so do all my friends who have watched it; A few of them don't even like anime and I told em' to try out AOT and they loved it! I recommend it to everyone. Its a more mature anime, with lots of blood and gore but the story is also very good; Its really draws you in from the start and you really get a lot of backstory on many of the characters, so you can love and appreciate them more. Also, this show has Levi and Levi is a total boss. The art style is realistic as are the voices and there is little to no chibi, which is a good thing, its brings a more serious feel to the anime. The theme song is great also, one of the best.

The Good
LEVI. Nuff said. 😉

The Bad
You will have to wait a while for the next season. 🙁

Amazing

The series is well made and exposition is given to you at just the right times. I love the art style of the Titans when compared to normal humans, and the very unique idea it has. The Ill thing I have on it is Where is Season 2. Seriously though it does at times get quite cheesy with ""I'm gonna slaughter all the titans"" he got quite extreme at points where as AniSins likes to call Eren ""Edgen"" . Actually I wonder if that image will work. Short to short it is an amazing anime that gets cheesy at times. I would definitely recommend

The Good
Eren's ""Insanity"", The Art Style of the Titans

The Bad
Season 2.... Where is it

It's really interesting!

Just about anybody you talk to has seen this anime. I have friends who never even watched anime until they saw Attack on Titan for the first time. It keeps you wanting to watch more! If you haven't seen it yet, you need to. It's awesome, you learn a lot about the characters, and you get attached to them. Also, the soundtrack is perfection. It's inspiring and motivating. (I even use the soundtrack when I workout sometimes)

The Good
Great character development Unexpected events AMAZING soundtrack

The Bad
None

I'm going to make this simple. If you have any non anime friends, and they're looking for a good anime to start of with. Recommend them to this anime. Best case scenario your friend would be hooked on to the action this anime brings. Plus the in depth story line that makes you crave for the next week's episode. Plunging you into the world engulfed by terror, and adventure. You feel like you're in the anime standing next to others witnessing these horrific scenes taking place, then finding a way to overcome it, and adapt your life within this crazy world.

The characters within the show are genuine, and mysterious. Even though some fans can sense a hint of romance from the beginning episode. When you see how worried Mikasa is over Eren. The hints she throws at him, and he doesn't even realize that she's interested in him. You can't blame Eren, because to him Mikasa is like family. She grew up with him, and the thought of her being someone more that never crossed his mind. Then again it wouldn't be fun for us audience to actually want this romance to build up fast. We want it to last for a while, and let Eren see that Mikasa is more than a cole family friend.

Even though the anime is action packed with war between Titans, and humans. The show makes a slight flaw on leaving one character out of the loop, by pushing them tot he side. One character in particular. Armin, yes I said Armin. This guy is the Sakura of this anime show. His character needed more development in my opinion. Having a backstory of him, and his grandfather would've been great. To see how he enjoyed learning while he is young.

Overall the anime is enjoyable, and really fun to watch. Tears, are going to be shed through out this season. Tears of joy, and Tears of grief. This anime is that good. The pacing is great. If you haven't watched this anime this is a good time to start.

The Good
Protagonist's ambition The build up Titans vs Humans

The Bad
Pacing for the first episode Armin's backstory
