Death City is home to the famous Death Weapon Meister Academy, a technical academy headed by the Shinigami—Lord Death himself. Its mission: to raise "Death Scythes" for the Shinigami to wield against the many evils of their fantastical world. These Death Scythes, however, are not made from physical weapons; rather, they are born from human hybrids who have the ability to transform their bodies into Demon Weapons, and only after they have consumed the souls of 99 evil beings and one witch's soul.

Soul Eater Evans, a Demon Scythe who only seems to care about what's cool, aims to become a Death Scythe with the help of his straight-laced wielder, or meister, Maka Albarn. The contrasting duo work and study alongside the hot headed Black☆Star and his caring weapon Tsubaki, as well as the Shinigami's own son, Death the Kid, an obsessive-compulsive dual wielder of twin pistols Patty and Liz.

Soul Eater follows these students of Shibusen as they take on missions to collect souls and protect the city from the world's threats while working together under the snickering sun to become sounder in mind, body, and soul.

This show is a must see. Top five to recommend to others. I really enjoyed the characters and the story in this one. There were delightful twists and unexpected depth to some of the characters that I was wonderfully surprised with. Overall a great watch, and not a bad series to binge either.

Soul Eater is one of my top ten favorite anime and I recommend it to anyone who is looking for a series that has action mixed with tons of comedy. Every character has their own quirks and personality. The comedy doesn't take away from the action and the series pretty much sticks to the story instead of running all over the place like a lot of newer anime tends to do. The graphics are done quite well and again it's definitely a unique style of artwork that I don't see in a lot of anime. I will say however, if you watch the anime in the English language (let's face it, there are anime that have been dubbed in multiple languages. Not a lot but there are a few; thus I cannot speak for them), there are some minor mistakes. One noticeably is during an episode later in the series (can't remember which one that it was in but it was quite a bit later in the series) where the female doctor and Dr. Stein are having a conversation on the correct way to make coffee however what they were making was tea, not coffee (the box they were using was clearly labeled "Tea"). So if small things like that don't bother you then you'll definitely like this anime.

Anyway, if I would have to choose one thing that makes this anime stand out from the others, it would have to be the artwork, definitely. The characters would be a close second.

      Hi everyone,
Please help me track down an anime I saw as kid. Certainly I don't remember the title, but I remember some of the plot and what the characters looked like. It was a sci-fi. I remember it was about a princess (I presume she was) being abducted and our heroes travel on a space ship to rescue her. The main male protagonist was thin, wore blue jeans, green T-shirt, carried a knife, among the rest of the rescuers there were 2 other guys, one wearing glasses, grey trousers, white T-shirt, was extremely fearful. Also there was a fat guy who most likely wore a green T-shirt, very fearful too. Also they had a robot teammate accompanying them.
There was a scene where our rescuers reach something resembling a shaft, with blue walls. A descent into the cave. They start climb it down. As they look down, it’s descending into darkness, while when they look up, there’s a bright light above. Then they end up inside an underground cave.
The only villain I remember was the Cyclops in the cave, this one scared me a lot as a kid. I remember there's a part where the princess is shown chained in the cave and the Cyclops was sleeping beside her/guarding. As the heroes are walking the cave, Pink Floyd's "Time" is playing (I remember that part was very scary back then).
That's all I manage to remember, the easiest way to identify this would be the cyclops and Pink Floyd's "Time". It was a wonderful anime from what I remember.
Somebody please help me find this. I absolutely loved it as a kid.
      Thanks in advance so much.
