  • Aired: 07/02/2017
  • Episodes: Unknown

There are words Violet heard on the battlefield, which she cannot forget. These words were given to her by someone she holds dear, more than anyone else. She does not yet know their meaning.

A certain point in time, in the continent of Telesis. The great war which divided the continent into North and South has ended after four years, and the people are welcoming a new generation.

Violet Evergarden, a young girl formerly known as "the weapon," has left the battlefield to start a new life at CH Postal Service. There, she is deeply moved by the work of "Auto Memories Dolls," who carry people's thoughts and convert them into words.

Violet begins her journey as an Auto Memories Doll, and comes face to face with various people's emotions and different shapes of love. All the while searching for the meaning of those words.

What do you think about a mannequin wanting to understand love?

Let's take aside my biased rate for a moment and dive into this miraculous world. It's great graphics and story telling are certainly out of the ordinary. High Budget = High Quality

All of my expectations have been fully satisfied. The story takes place in the early 20th century. Precisely in the aftermath of a war where the main character has been a part of. Unfortunately, the anime ended with a cliffhanger. What happened to the Major was what I asked myself throughout the whole series. Don't google it if you don't want to be spoiled.

Violet Evergarden is a bunch of unique stories from people who Violet meets during her journey as an Auto Memories Doll.

I can't say for sure if I liked the anime or not. It's more of like an "okay" anime well at least in my humble opinion. It didn't really leave an impression on me and I find it hard to empathize with the main character although the plot is new and refreshing and steps away from most animes. Common favorite genres like Romance, Comedy and even Drama is present in the anime. The setting of the anime is also good a somewhat after-war medieval age, the characters are okay and the animation is just amazing. As always, the essence of Mono No Aware is present and a sort of cliffhanger is to be expected at the end of the anime, spoilers alert! But so far, as a whole package, I find it hard to digest maybe because it's just not my cup of tea.

Zatch Bell doesn't get mentioned much, and not many people actually seem to remember it.
I personally never cared for Zatch Bell. The reason is because of how over the top it is, and the main character (Zatch) is pretty annoying, and there's also a lot of annoying characters in it too. Also the anime just has too much humor in it, since the humor ruins many moments that are supposed to be serious.

Just started the Netflix series, Castlevania and I have to say I'm pretty hooked. I'm really picky when it comes to American anime and most I don't care for because they are down right boring as heck. I finally reached season two, episode 5 last night. The only real issue for me on the series is the fact that the seasons are so dang short. Season one literally only has 4 episodes, ugh.
So does anyone else watch the series? What do you think of it?
