Been Awhile

Hej, allesammans!

It's been awhile, I was hoping to be on here more consistently than I have been, but my health has had other ideas. Despite winter being my favorite time of the year my illnesses just aren't handling it well. It didn't help that I got both terrible bronchitis and a cold. My asthma has significantly worsened and I'm spending many nights unable to sleep due to constant wheezing. However, it's given me plenty of anime time, at least! Along with rewatching favorites I also watched several for the first time:

  • Code Geass
  • Days
  • Log Horizon
  • Denki-Gai
  • Princess Principal
  • Yuuki Yuuna is a Hero: Washio Sumi Chapter, A Sunny Place, and The Hero Chapter
  • Death Note

I also finished the autumn season anime I was following, started the winter season, finished my rewatch with my sister of Naruto, and started rewatching Boruto with the same sister (INTJ).

Speaking of my sisters, today is a snow day and to make it more special I begged my sisters to watch Your Name (Kimi No Na Wa) with me. They've been hesitant for a while, especially because we have a list of shows we're trying to watch together. But, the snow put them in a good mood and they agreed! They loved it just as much as I hoped they would, which made me so happy! It quickly became my favorite movie and I've now seen it so many times, I'm happy to finally share it with them.

Yesterday I started Sound of the Sky, and while I've not had a lot of time to watch it today I have watched a few more episodes and will probably finish it tonight. I'm finding it enchanting! I just loved the first episode and the magical feel of exploring a new village during a festival. The show just gives me good feelings.

Anyways, I hope you all are doing well, I look forward to catching up!

Thank you so much! It really is wonderful spending time with my sisters, especially when my lungs are keeping me awake all night and they watch anime with me. It makes it so much easier to get through the long hours. I hope you have a good rest of the week, as well!

@Vivi Hyuuga Your welcome, anytime. Yeah spending time with siblings is awesome, I think. I only have one sister and when we spend time together we call it. "Sister time" Sorta cheesy I know but we just are like that, heh.

I'm sorry to hear you've been sick and you've been having trouble sleeping as a result. I personally have trouble sleeping, often waking up in the middle of the night and not being able to return to sleep or do much of anything since I'm so tired. It's not fun, to say the least, so I can somewhat understand your pain there.

But anyways, please enjoy your return. ^^

That's happening to me too lately, waking up at 3 or 4 am for no reason.

Ah, yes, I wonder what could be causing it?

@Mars Terra @Rudilla Maybe you both have some sleeping problems like Insomnia. I have it myself and before I always thought it was just normal to wake up at those times sometimes or couldn't fall back asleep. Maybe check it out with a doctor if it gets worse, just a thought is all. You don't have to listen to me or take my advice, just trying to help is all. I take medication for my sleeping issues plus for other reasons since I suffer from chronic nightmares but a lot of the time the medication does not always work for myself and I find myself waking up around 4 or 5 AM. Sometimes even being up at midnight staying up till 4 or 5 AM then getting only an hour of sleep again. For me it's different like everyone is different but doesn't hurt to check with your guys doctors if maybe they can help you both out.  Also there is no shame in taking medication even though it sucks taking a pill a lot but if it helps you then it's worth it.

@SleepyLeoulf I don't think it's insomnia, I've never had this sort of thing before ( I mean not frequently), so it might be because of some stress I'm unaware of.

@Rudilla Possibly and true too much stress can cause sleeping problems like that as well. But things over time can developed so I wouldn't rule it out, just saying. :-/ For me  it just happened out of the blue so things can change with one's self over time.

@Rudilla Well, maybe you've been studying too much lately? It's good to take a break once in a while, especially if you aren't used to that kind of stuff. I can't very much without knowing more about your situation though.

@Mars Terra Not that, I don't study as much as I should, so it's definetley not that. This week's exams are done anyway so I think I'll be fine from tomorrow on.

I haven't heard of Your Name, but if it is that good I've just got to watch it!  @Vivi Hyuuga

sorry you are sick, but thanks a ton for the movie :D

Lol, @SleepyLeoulf, I don't think that's too cheesy! My sisters and I call it the same thing. I'm a rather sentimental person so I like to express my love for those around me frequently.
Sucks to hear about your nightmares! My sister has them frequently and it's really hard on her, she's not been able to sleep with the light off for about a year and a half. She keeps her room lit with Christmas lights at night and also puts a movie on, which helps her. But it's still not easy. Especially because her medical conditions are so scary, so sometimes she'll have a nightmare about going into anaphylaxis and she wakes up not knowing if she actually is or not, since she does frequently have strong allergic reactions.

@Rudilla, @Mars Terra , I'm so sorry to hear of y'all's sleeping troubles, too! They really are a pain. It's almost 5am here, but here I am awake. :P At least I got a good two-hour nap in before my lungs got too bad. Asthma is known to get worse at night. Also, I just finished the first episode of How To Raise a Mummy and it was just so kawaii!
I used to have insomnia, but after following some advice from a sleep specialist that's usually under control, thankfully.

@Baku, I'm surprised you haven't heard of it, it gained popularity quickly and has won a ton of awards! It even aired in some theaters in the US and you can find it at Walmart. It makes me happy seeing it do so well, it truly is a masterpiece. Please let me know what you think when you see it!

@Vivi Hyuuga and @SleepyLeoulf I think it's sweet that you both care about your siblings a lot and get along with them well. ^^ And that sounds terrible, not being able to tell if something like that was real or not...that's too cruel... :'(

Thank you, it wasn't too bad last night so that's good. And it seems we live in the same time zone.

Did you see How to raise a mummy because of my impression post? Or maybe I misunderstood...

@Vivi Hyuuga I'm very sorry about your sister and her nightmare problem I feel for her and know what she's going through. It can also be tough on the family like it is for mine them "trying" there best to help me and comfort me, thus they can only do so much.  Also sometimes its hard for me to talk about my dreams to people since I'm afraid what they will think if I told them the stuff I dream about.. ( family and my psychiatric  said it might help if I talk, write ,and even draw it out, but I'm too scared to to be honest about it. maybe sometime I can but for now I choose not too.. (( sorry if that's bad )) ) But it is what it is and only have nightmares for two reasons. 1 being my imagination is very strong since I'm a creative person and 2 from some traumatic and mild things happening in my life growing up through my teens and early twenties. So yeah I've had issues with my dreaming for some time. It got worse sadly after graduating high school for myself.

But I can say now I'm doing more better lately since I do and think positive things more plus I'm not sure how to explain it but I fight back best I can and don't let the dreams bother me during the day. For your sister and others it's different but I hope that she does not get them a lot no more and maybe having you and the rest of your family there supporting her best you can will help her. You could talk to a doctor more about it for other methods you have not tried to help ease them and not happen or happen so much. Just a thought and you don't have to take my advice. I wish you and your sister all the best. Sending you LOTS of good and positive vibes your way~

@Mars Terra Thank you for saying that Mars that is very kind of you for saying that. ^,.,^ and yeah it is hard for me at least I know.. :-/

I live in Central eastern time zone for me, also good to hear you were alright that night.

@Mars Terra, thanks! I love them and it's wonderful to be so close. I know, right?! I feel so bad for her and wish there were more I could do for her. The time I recently walked into her bedroom only to find her stabbing herself in the leg with her epi-pen really shook me. I tried to call an ambulance for her but I couldn't stop shaking and I couldn't remember how to unlock my phone. Thankfully my mom was there and was able to call 911 for me.
That's good to hear! Oh, cool! Yeah, I live in Central time zone for anyone else interested.
Ooh, no I haven't seen that thread yet! I'm excited now and will check it out!

@SleepyLeoulf, I can understand your struggle with talking about it. I have clinical depression and for the longest time I didn't talk to my family about it, I just felt like I couldn't.
I'm happy to hear you've had some improvements and that your doctor helped! Sadly when my sister saw a sleep specialist it was a super flakey one who didn't care about it. I'm hoping she can find a better one. Well wishes to you, too!

@Mars Terra, @Roxeg, you all are so sweet! Thank you for the support, it means a lot.

Thankfully I'm not beating myself up over it, that time was just even more emotionally draining than usual, and it triggered some PTSD from my childhood. Lately, while she has had some pretty serious attacks we've been able to calm them down with her emergency meds, so no recent ER trips!

Also, regarding my own health, we're trying to get me into a local pulmonologist to help with all my breathing treatments, so I'm praying that will help! I have an asthma specialist, but he's four hours away, so having someone local who could help with this would be great.

I'm hoping I can catch up on the forum after I can get some sleep today, I've been up all night. I miss being able to chat with everyone. Anyways, I'm off for now, I hope you're all having a good morning! See y'all later.

P.S My sister, INTJ, finished catching up to the current Boruto episodes! Which means she's going to start season 2 of My Hero Academia with me now! I'm so excited to show it to her.

Aw, I'm sorry to hear you have PTSD, and I'm sorry you had to go through something like that. And I'm sorry that your sister has had a lot of attacks too. :'(

Well, I hope you can find someone around your area soon.

That's good, you shouldn't push yourself even if it's just to talk with someone.

I hope you two enjoy the show together. ^^ Please enjoy your week. = )

Thanks! The PTSD actually surprised me in that case, because it's regarding an incident from when I was six years old, and I thought I fully recovered from it years ago. Just goes to show how events in our lives shape who we are. While I may have had a lot of difficult events throughout my life I'm happy with how they've shaped me. :)

Thanks! I'm hopeful that I'll be able to get some help soon.

I hope your Monday was great and that the rest of your week goes well, too, @Mars Terra!
