Realistically, If i were to ask if you could translate 60% of an episode, I seriously doubt you would get passed 30%. But then again, I guess other people learn languages faster then others. I have been watching subbed anime forever and I still can't understand anything in Japanese other than simple things. Then again I'm terrible with languages. I think you'd be able to get the gist of many titles without subtitles as many anime scenarios and character personalities tend to get reused over and over. This assumes you're watching a title with a fairly standard plot - definitely wouldn't work for those psychological thriller titles! 2 Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

No longer need subs But honest answer though, I understand a lot of the words they say but I still always need the subs ._. But at times I can watch the anime without even looking down at the subs..
