Kakegurui Episode 2 Discussion (Spoilers)

So this anime just got even weirder. After some brief exposition by one of the MC's named Suzui, Ryouta who looks like this:

We learn that the whole idea of gambling being a sign of rank was the idea of school itself, and it's run by the student council. We also learn that the current student council president made the conditions of the lowest ranking students much worse, although we aren't given any reason as to why.

After that bit, we hear of a new character named Itsuki, Sumeragi who is a first year that basically paid her way to get into the student council is undefeated at playing cards. She looks like this:

She challenges our other MC who looks like this: in the last episode lose a match against a new character, who I can only assume is the match for the next game and see her debt become 49 million yen.

The episode pretty much ends there, and I gotta say, this is worst than the last one. The suspense isn't as good, the writing isn't as clever, and the match itself isn't as interesting. You could argue the lack of suspense is supposed to signify the skill of Yumeko, what with being able to defeat someone who has never lost and all without it being a big deal, but it's just not as interesting. This episode gets a total rating of a 3/10. I really hope this one starts picking up soon, because if the next episode is even worse, I may just drop it entirely.
