Katsugeki/Touken Ranbu - Episode 1 Discussion

This is an, interesting anime, but it's also kind of reminder of what can happen when an anime gets too popular or the animators get too comfortable with a style, because ufotable made this one look so much like Tales of Zesteria the X that I hard time telling the difference. Even the enemies look like Hellions, almost exactly. That said, the idea is interesting as it follows a group of characters whose job it is to stop another group from altering history, though to what end is not explained. The animation is of course really high because ufotable, but the plot is also very basic and it's kind of hard to expect anything major out of it when it seems like they will often end up in places where Samruai Swords and garb are commonplace for both sides. The action might end up alright, and they clearly aren't afraid to show blood, but it's not clear after episode 1 if it's a show worth spending time on. I'd give it a 6/10 for that reason.
