  1. Yes, I dislike ebooks! I will always prefer physical books until the very day that they are no longer accessible to me. My boyfriend keeps trying to convince me to own an ereader, he has even offered to buy me one but I said to him that its not the same and I would never want to own one. I don't care that an ereader is lighter and can store many books on the one device, its just reading books are not the same if I am not changing the pages with my own fingers! I am really going to be sad once ebooks fully take over

  2. I definitely agree. I am surprised the amount of information that my boyfriend's parents know about me - all because of my boyfriend's siblings being my Facebook friends and them telling my boyfriend's parents what both of us are up to. Sometimes things can get confused as well - like there was one time when they thought they had been ditched for my friends because there was a pic of my boyfriend and me having lunch and we had to cancel dinner with them - it wasn't because we were with friends, lunch had happened earlier in the day but my boyfriend couldn't turn up to dinner due to other unforeseeable commitments. Even if I don't post much on Facebook, others will still find out more about me due to other friends tagging me in pictures or statuses. I don't mind people knowing what I am up to as long as they don't get confused. I think social networking sites are an excellent way to keep in contact with people - it has definitely helped me keep in contact with online friends' lives.

  3. Hi Nights, Welcome to the forum and all the best of luck with being forum manager. I am sure you will do an excellent job. My name is Caroline. I am from Australia and I am the forum's global moderator. It is surely exciting to get new members on the forum and also, have a new staff member especially since most of us have been part of AN since it first started, so its always nice to see a fresh face! Toradora is a great anime. I enjoyed it very much but admittedly my favourite character in this series was the bird Glad to see that you like romantic comedies. Some of the romantic comedy animes are the best I have seen. I would highly recommend Lovely Complex if you haven't watched this already. Also what are your favourite Disney movies?

  4. Hi, my name is Jordan but most just call me Nights. Optic has assigned me the role of forum manager to help make this place more enjoyable for the community. Don't worry, I'm no stranger to anime. I'm actually quite fond of anime and manga. I think I've been a fan ever since watching Sailor Moon on Saturday mornings, as a child. My range of flavors vary but I'm most inclined to watch RomComs. 'Toradora!' is one of my favorite anime's of all time. I'm also a computer nerd. I love computers, from the hardware to the software and all ware's in between. I've got some experience in web design, mostly with HTML and CSS. I love to sit down and just try to make things work with lines of code. I sometimes forget myself and end up working on something for an entire day. I also like to create graphics using photo manipulation software; my favorite is PhotoShop. I do most of my own avatars and signatures with the exception of occasional gifts. I sometimes even go as far as to make animated gifs. I am a guy but I've been told I'm extremely "girlish" in taste. I love anything and everything that is cute/kawaii. This one flaw is the reason why I can't stay mad at Kyubey, I just can't! This is more than likely why I'm more fond of RomComs than any other genre. I also have a thing about animation style. I have, sadly, turned down many a show simply because it had poor animation. I am a fan of many things; Doctor Who, Supernatural, MLP, Harry Potter, and a lot of Disney films. The first fandom I ever belonged to though is anime. Well, I'm not sure if I left anything out or not. Feel free to ask me anything you'd like. I'll be more than happy to answer to the best of my abilities. I can't wait to meet everyone and become a part of this community. Thanks for reading, Nights

  8. I bought the soundtrack and sing-a-long to these songs all the time in my car. I've been told, aside from the fact that they thought it was weird, that I'm actually pretty good at singing. They actually help to bring me out of a bad mood, when I'm angry or sad. Best 12USD I ever spent. I'm actually not sure. Knowing Disney, they'll work it out somehow. ouchthis-shy.gif

  9. Idina Menzel is very talented. I have known about her for years and seen her acting and singing in RENT and WICKED. So happy that more people know about her now because of Frozen. My favourite songs are definitely For The First Time In Forever, Love Is An Open Door, Let It Go and then Do You Want To Build A Snowman. I really disliked Lion King 1.5, this is because I was hoping it to be a continuation of Lion King 2. I wanted to see more of Kiara!! I am a bit nervous for the new movie - I don't get how it can be about Simba's son????? Where was his son in Lion King 2??? Or was he born after Kiara grew up? It's pretty confusing.

  12. Yes, I adored Tangled. ouchthis-excited2 It was so cute and sweet I was in tears. I'm swapping it out for #5. Monster Inc can have my number 6 spot. The songs in Frozen are just absolutely fantastic. Idina Menzel's performance of Let It Go was just breathtaking. Top Five Frozen Songs: Let It Go, For The First Time In Forever, Do You Want To Build A Snowman, Love Is An Open Door, For The First Time In Forever Reprise I've seen The Lion King, The Lion King 2, and The Lion King 1.5; I've also seen the original TV series. Disney movies, and Disney shows (back when they were good) were always my thing as a kid. There's probably not many Disney movies I haven't seen (not including those off brand movies they make just for the Disney channels). I'd like to see a new Lion King movie, that would be awesome, but looking at what Disney has been doing in the television department recently ... I don't know if I have faith that it'd be decent. I fear a new series might be a bombshell. If they do make the series I will probably watch the first few episodes, to give it a fair shot. Hopefully it's something enjoyable so it doesn't completely ruin my childhood. lol

  13. I remember watching Cyborg Soldier 009 when I was pretty young. I've not heard that one mentioned once since I discovered the internet. Sometimes I like to watch old shows when it's raining out. I'll add this one to the list as I literally just remembered it.

  14. You have great taste with Disney movies. Do you like Tangled as well? Everyone seems to love Frozen, the songs are so great. My favourite character in Frozen would definitely be Anna. I am also a big fan of the Lion King and I am looking forward to seeing the musical next year. Did you also like Lion King 2? Are you looking forward to the new Lion King movie/TV series?

  15. Or maybe it has more to do with there being a lot more newer anime fans out there who would have not watched the older animes.

  17. How much are you buying digital copies of versus physical copies? For me it varies. I myself continue to prefer Blu-rays for most of my anime, movies and TV shows for quality reasons and well the digital versions aren't much cheaper for the quality difference. For PC games, well Steam online distribution is super convenient and rarely do most boxed copies on the shelves contain discs now. However for PC applications such as Office and the Adobe suite I much prefer digital distribution as their boxes are just not aesthetically pleasing to keep around. How about you?

  18. Nadesico! That's one of the animes I loved a lot back in 2005 but I never have met anyone who has seen it too sadly! I really liked it! Same thing for Chibi Vampire, it's so funny, loving yet can be sad as well.

  19. I would vote for Asuka for you =P I don't know who I would be, so far I haven't actually bumped into an Anime character that I think is like me or that I can relate to the most.

  20. I think it's awesome because I've got a library nearby that actually has manga you can check out. If they don't have it, you can always request it and check it out when it comes in. One of my friends told me about that and I was so happy. I still read most manga online though just because there's more of a selection at the ready.

  23. Last time I checked ... I think I'm still in the 100-200 episode range. I lost my place and didn't feel like finding it again. Plus there's like 500+ episodes. Detective Conan is beyond re-watchable. You watch the whole thing through once and you'll have forgotten the beginning episodes. I'll re-watch short animes and sometimes longer ones if it's been awhile. Cyborg Soldier 009 is 48 episodes. Not too bad compared to Detective Conan, One Piece, Fairy Tail, or Bleach.

  24. Thanks ^^ I'm looking forward to working with you and everyone else. I understand the excitement in seeing new faces and new teammates. Hopefully we'll get to work together in the near future. Lol, Inko I've actually came across it a time or two but never actually managed to watch it. I think I'll give it a shot. It's looks adorable just from the description ^^ Top Five: Frozen, Tinker Bell movies, Cars/Planes, Lion King, Monsters Inc./University

  25. Asuka from Evangelion of course!!! Mainly because she is already has a similar look and personality to me already. Another anime character I would like to be would be Lacus from Gundam SEED since I have always admired her and she is also very perfect too and I really like being perfect whenever possible though its impossible to ever truly to be perfect.

  26. In terms of games and software, I'll always choose digital over physical any day. More often then not, once you buy something via a created account, it's always going to be there for you. You can download over and over again. This is handy for things like computer crashes or even computer updating. There are many ways to lose or corrupt your data and it's great to always be able to re-download when needed. Physical copies, on the other hand, are tedious. Discs often scratch and become irreparable making them worthless and then you're out however much money you spent on them. Not to mention the fact that you have to store them in a safe location, which often can lead to clutter. Digital copies are stored digitally and thus remove any physical clutter of your home or office. In terms of literature, I'll always choose physical over digital any day. There's nothing more relaxing than the feeling of a hardback book resting gently in your hands as you turn each page. You don't get that sort of aesthetically pleasant feeling from digital copies. It's kind of like trying to hug a robot, it just doesn't feel right. That is to say that certain things such as writings of non-importance or at least not important to as many people can't be digital. For instance, a letter from a landlord to their tenant informing them that they've received noise complaints from their apartment would be better suited as an email. I'll never read a digital copy of Shakespeare for these very reasons. So, basically, games and software are best as digital copies while literature is best as a physical copy, at least in my opinion.

  27. Hmm ... based on my personality I'd most definitely be a trap. I'm thinking Megumu from If Her Flag Breaks. [spoiler=Megumu]

  28. That makes me think if Death Note and Frozen had a crossover, this would be the theme song. It had that sort of Death Note style to it. I love his voice. His style of music is a little darker but it still sounds great. I'm not going to lie ... that original version freaked me out. The video was just way to random, even for me. The singing was cute ^^ but ... that video was *shudders* down right creepy.

  29. I really do not buy physical copies much anymore. If its a TV series I really like then sure I will buy the DVDs. CDs I don't buy at all anymore unless they are Taylor Swift and Delta Goodrem albums. I do still miss the days of the physical CD single. There were more CDs to collect and getting a CD signed at an instore is more interesting than getting a poster signed. Fortunately some singers still let you buy singles at instores that they have released just for that day.
