  1. Hello, everyone!! I was wondering if anybody wanted to be friends? This seems like a nice social group, so who's up to being friends? Have a nice day!

  2. Common sayings, or proverbs, are wise sayings that provide advice about how to live our life. Every culture seems to have one. But proverbs are not always right... "Two wrongs don't make a right". Heard this one many times before? I did, too. But I am going to call this one wrong. I remember a friend of mine from elementary school. She was always bullied, but she refused to get revenge. She was really nice, you know. But when she didn't take revenge, the goons began to become worse. The knocked her lunch tray out of her hands, and she was forced to be in Plate Duty, which means that you have to clean the plates after lunch is over. They snatched away her breakfast. They ruined everything she owned or made. They started spreading horrible rumors behind her back. I caught a hold of one of them, which told me that my friend had "made out with Jaime (a guy I used to know)". Seriously, we were in elementary school back then! But the bullying didn't stop there. They started spreading rumors to the teachers too. The teachers, being dumb, believed them. My friend moved away after I told her everything. Now, if she had taken her revenge, she would've been fine. A girl told me that those goons bullied more people but stopped when their bullies stood up to them. They were very weak and crybabies, but they won't stop bullying you until you get your revenge. See what I mean? The next one is "An apple a day keeps the doctor away". This one is very common. But this one is wrong too. When I was 7 years old and in Singapore, there was a woman I used to know. Her name was Adrielle, and she was the healthiest person I knew. She always ate fresh fruits and vegetables. She exercised everyday, and never drank alcohol or smoked. She was really nice too. One day, when I went out to take out the trash, Adrielle invited me inside to have some tea with her. She gave me delicious cupcakes to take home and told me to visit her again. But two years back, I heard that she had died of breast cancer. But you tell me, why did Adrielle get breast cancer? She always ate fruits and vegetables, and exercised daily. She never drank or smoked. She was really healthy, and was ought to die at an old age, not at the age of thirty seven! My point is that the person who made proverbs are idiots. The real life is not cliche, it's blood, sweat and tears. It's not some fairy tale/tail where you just do the nice things and live happily every after. It's not like that. In real life you have to take ricks and trust your instincts. Only in that way will you be able to get a happily ever after.

  7. @NotSoNora "May the odds be ever in your favor" during your last stretch of the nail-biting death match known as high school before summer. I'm just kidding by the way... and I keep seeing people talking about Clannad, it's making me really curious but I don't want to start it and then think its trash or look it up online and spoil it for myself. Is it worth it? OH! I almost forgot, Welcome to AF!

  8. Well, 'Recovery of An MMO Junkie' is a pretty good anime, it's about this 30 year old who plays on MMOs all the time, I'm pretty sure the main character is considered an otaku. It's honestly really easy to relate to if you're an otaku or just introverted. (also the art style is pretty unique compared to other anime created in the same year as this anime, just thought that was interesting.)

  11. Today I'm on a metal kick. I put Blind Guardian on shuffle after lunch & currently am listening to The Curse Of Fëanor from their Nightfall in Middle Earth album album. Any fans of Tolkien's The Silmarillion out there? Prior to that it was A Past and Future Secret from (IIRC) Imaginations from the Other Side.

  12. haven't watched too much new anime this month (i have a terrible tendency to rewatch old favorites for the millionth time instead of actually giving something new a chance) but I did watch devilman crybaby recently and ohhh man, (if you're able to stomach it) I HIGHLY recommend it! I know this show's been hyped up quite a bit recently but it really is incredible (and the memes to come out of the fandom are amazing lmao) been on a kick of watching asian dramas lately, the first one I watched was 'million yen women'. it's a netflix original j-drama (netflix originals are always 10/10) and it had me hooked from start to finish, i reaaally enjoyed it. the show is relatively short (12 episodes, 20 min each) the show starts off (somewhat) lighthearted but gets really intense throughout the next few episodes and it'll always keep you on the edge of your seat. it's a great show that you don't have to invest too much time into, so if you're ever browsing through netflix and at a loss for what to watch next, i'd recommend it! currently in the middle of watching a k-drama (also a netflix original, if you couldn't tell i'm a huge fan of netflix originals) called 'black'! i'm currently finishing up episode 5 (the episodes are about 1hr 30min a piece, so it's definitely not a quick watch, but i'm enjoying that for a change since more often than not i get hooked on a show that doesn't have too many episodes and i finish it within a day T~T ) it's about a girl who has the ability to see a black shadow lingering around any person who is going to die in the near future and if she touches the shadow, she can see exactly how they die, and she ends up teaming up with someone from the detective agency to help prevent the deaths of these people, buut of course everything doesn't go as planned, and that's about as far as i can go without venturing into spoiler territory, hehe ~ i'm enjoying it a lot so far, hopefully the ending doesn't disappoint!
