I identify as the sun. Ever since I was a young girl I dreamed of slamming hydrogen isotopes into each other to make helium and light and send it throughout the galaxy. People say to me that a person being a star is impossible and I'm being ridiculous but I don't care. I'm beautiful. I'm having a plastic surgeon inflate me with hydrogen and raise my temperature to over 6000 degrees C. From now on I want everyone to call me "Sol" and respect my right to give you vitamin D and probably sunburns. If you can't accept me you're a fusionphobe and need to check your astral priviledge. Thank you for being so understanding.

I am currently working on story for a webtoon / motion comic / animated series ( I still don't know what the end product will be) And here's the synopsis: I intend to post updates here if that's okay. And here's the character design for the main character (face only):

If you could pick an anime world to live in which one would it be and why? I think for me it would be either the Naruto world or the DBZ Universe. I think being a ninja would be kinda fun and having the ability to do some convenient jutsu's. I think I would have to use shadow clones to go to work for me some days lol. Same reason for the DBZ universe, having certain abilities to do things would be very nice plus having a friend like Goku could be fun ;D

That actually does sound like a really fun option! That is somewhat why I chose the Naruto world, I like the bonds they created with their friends there, and having a friend like Naruto, or even Boruto depending on the timeline, would be a really amazing friend to have ^^ I like the Boruto time period a bit more than the original Naruto time period as well. The fact they have things like hand held games and computer is pretty awesome~

I think I would choose Fiore too. It would be amazing to belong to a place full of magic and friends. πŸ’›
  10. 4 points
There are truly so many, but ultimately, I would want to be in Fiore and a member of the Fairy Tail guild hall. Because really, having best friends as guildmates, using magic, and going on adventures, what could be better?

I just got back from an comic book convention. Here are some of pictures from it. I wore a blue Kimono and it was really embarrassing. πŸ˜– People said I was cute; and asked to take pictures with me, I felt silly. Oh well, now I have a ton of studying to do for stupid test. I got a bunch of comics as well. I keep distracting myself from school. The lemon thing at the bottom is a yummy lemon crape.

An example panel may be titled, "Horror Anime Throughout the 90s" and literally only discuss Horror Anime during that time period and may end up being a list of titles, trailers, and opinion commentary with questions at the end. Alternatively, it could be something like "The Rise of Isekai" and the panel originators might spend 20-30 minutes going over the history of Isekai (along with a definition of isekai), eary examples of Isekai and more recent Isekai and Isekai trends and then the last 30-90 minutes may end up being an outright discussion of the nuances of the genre, polling for favorite examples, an exploration of subgenres (trapped in a video game for instance) or even panel attendees and the panel originators debating over whether a particular anime qualifies for the genre (for instance, No Game No Life is Isekai but not Trapped in a Video Game (although it is sometimes mistaken for TiaVG)). Panels can be a great source of information (for instance, a Reverse Harem panel that lists reverse harem titles and describes them may be great if you are getting into the genre and wanting to watch and collect...you'd want to take notes of titles to look up later if you were into it). Then there are Industry Panels (Funimation, Sentai, and more may hold a Panel to discuss their new anime coming out that year and sometimes major announcements are made at these panels and even the option to purchase blurays before their release dates) and Voice Actor Panels (usually a Voice Actor will take questions from the audience attending about working VA in anime, how they started, their favorite anime, who've they've met through anime, etc). Sometimes you have a let down panel from an ill-prepared presenter and you realize 5 minutes in that it's only going to be five minutes with no discussion and you could have used your time to attend or do something better.... Panels are usually a great way to spend the day, especially if you are at a Con and have nothing planned for a few hours and aren't planning on purchasing stuff for awhile. You can sit in on a panel and learn something new. The best thing is that everyone at the panels are just as excited about anime as you are. Some panels are not suitable for children and may require confirmation that you are above a certain age limit to attend. There are usually also Artist Galleries where artists can sell their own fan-made wears for money (usually prints of artwork they've created, plushies they've made, and other cool things, usually these people have an Etsy shop or something similar) and then a separate Vendor Market (for Industry and Commercial sellers who sell merchandise like blurays/dvds, shirts, action figures, toys, keychains, etc). Some, probably most, also do showings of anime. They might have blocks set aside in an attached theater to show really old anime movies, or the first four episodes of a popular new anime, or even preview episodes of an anime that is expected to come out soon but hasn't been released in the US yet. Occasionally, they'll show English dubs but most of these tend to be subtitled. Then you have autograph signings from Anime celebrity voice actors, animators, and more too. There tends to also be Cosplay Contests, Dances, Music, Martial Arts demonstrations, classes on Japanese culture/language/how to make plushies/kanji/etc. Believe me, if you've never been to a con before, you will probably be stunned and dazed from the experience. When I took my best friend to her first con, she just kind of followed me around in a daze the entire weekend and was so happy I was there to plan everything out and guide her to the panels and activities. There's always multiple things going on, throngs of people and cosplay to wade through, and if you don't really try to plan your schedule, you'll look back on it later with many regrets at all you missed. --- As for me, I like the panels and the Artist Galleries. I love a good anime discussion and I've learned a lot going to panels, even stuff I didn't know anything about before. The quality of the panels can make or break a con experience for me.

It has been pretty active the last few days on here. It's nice I think ^^ I like having some people to talk with because I haven't had a lot of people around lately. I like the atmosphere here as well compared to some forums where I have been on. Most forums I have been on is just filled with trolls and people who make rude comments at everything you say.

Hey @Clow I think you can make forum games and ask that people donate points to the winner and things like that. I’ve also done as you, and donated points to someone for things randomly. @XII360 I use an IPhone and I get the quiz error message too when trying to view the entire list of quizzes. So far I can only access quizzes by selecting one from the bottom of the forum where the titles are listed already (though it’s only a select few). And create quizzes. Hope this helps πŸ’•

Hey all. Figured I would post some of my artworks periodically on here. I do fan art, and the occasional original work. I use references and my art medium are Prismacolor pencils. I really love to use Strathmore Toned Tan Paper. It really makes the color pop! Trying to draw more often- to keep myself busy at night instead of binge watching shows on Netflix and Hulu lol so stay tuned! Unfortunately I don’t have anything else relatively new besides this picture right now I’m working on more though!!!

I had high hopes in terms of animation since it's ufotable, the use of cgi incredible! its used in the right moments and not distracting at all, i find the cartoonish characters fitting in this world. it was a bit off at first but got used to it. in terms of story it is decent. regarding his family it was a bit cliche and predictable but the way they did it was great, definitely going to watch the rest of the series.

I honestly think I would have to go for Boruto; I could learn some awesome jutsu and live in the village while Naruto is Hokage! Also Boruto has real VR which is really cool. I think Boruto seems to be the best mix of tech and ancient ninja tools and skills, its just so perfect.

I feel like I'd like to live in Non Non Biyori's world mainly because it's very peaceful. Non Non Biyori is set in a countryside area called Asahigaoka which is fictional and based on quite a few different areas. I guess I wouldn't find it boring since I really like nature. ❀️

Thank you very much, Ohiotaku I recently completed Yuru Camp and enjoyed it, I also enjoyed Recovery of an MMO Junkie and Re LIFE too. I haven't seen Azumanga Daioh, Flying Witch & K-On! I'll be sure to check them out, thanks! I have a 2DS, it's a great system but one I've only been able to play in short bursts because of the design, I find it uncomfortable to hold after a while, I've tried to find a grip for it but it seems no companies have made one for it. I've recently been looking at the New 2DS XL system, plus companies have made grips for that, so I might have to upgrade to that system so I can do longer gaming sessions on the go! Thanks! Hey, brycec! Thanks for recommending AF to me, I really appreciate it! I also know some HTML and CSS (Bootstrap), I'm also looking into getting into the world of JavaScript sometime too, the rapid pace of development with the libraries available I find outstanding, there's an abundance of libraries available for me to explore! Do you by any chance do any programming? Thank you very much, Seshi Toradora was one of the first anime's I watched, absolutely loved it! I haven't seen K-On! or Flying Witches, I'll be sure to check them out, many thanks! Hey Sofi, thank you very much I'm looking forward to enjoying my stay here! ^^ I really appreciate that, many thanks! ^^ Hey, efaardvark Amiga has to be my all time favourite computer system, so many great memories from my childhood I spent on the Amiga 500! That Lemmings pin is awesome, thanks for sharing a picture of it! Thank you very much, XII360 One of the many things I appreciate with retro gaming is looking at it from a developers point of view, back in the day with limited hardware resources the best developers were very creative with what was available at the time, and I think it's because of that it pushed them to make some of the best titles that are still remembered even to this day. Thanks!

When the Ocean Met the Sky Have you ever seen a sky so clear? Morning sun and clouds disappear Over the hills just to get here 'Bout a journeys worth of fear Written on the faces come near Too scared to touch the glass Too scared to think fast And when they come in last Nobody will remember the past For their names don't make the cast Have you ever seen the ocean such a dark blue? Sapphire and midnight, a magical hue Across the ocean just to find it next to you 'Bout a life's worth of fear cuts right through Your pounding heart that's already mildew Now you've become a god in a strange sort of way So now that you're here, they're about to pay Ignorance is no excuse, no, no excuse today Let's see how they feel when they're cast away Society looks down on the crimson lined tray You broke the mold and changed the clay Your name, blood red, on the cast of this play Poetry recited, eyes unblinking in the fray How beautifully you speak with eloquence on display A morning sky as blue as the ocean's waves Last thing they saw before going to their graves And in the night the waters come crashing from the caves No longer to be kept on hold, like unholy sapphire slaves Ocean met the sky, sundown Blood in the waves, might drown Crimson red rain, on the town Bloody one, wears the crown.

Dust - I collect dust on my violin. Ok, in earnest, I collect books - shelves and shelves of books (granted, many are from the collection of my parents) with either classical literature (19th - mid 20th c. and especially WW1 lit.), athurian/medieval literature (really, any story from the middle ages to the 17th century), Mythology (especially Norse, Germanic, and Arabic), Fantasy (mostly High or Medieval Fantasy) and recently I started a growing Light Novel collection, though I don't have much time to read lately. And some mystery somewhere in between. I used to collect stamps when I was a child but stopped long ago - I think the albums are buried somwhere in the attic...

Hello everybody. My name is April. I am kind of a closet geek, and because of that nobody knows that I like anime, jrock, fashion, or anything of the nature. I am scared to share my interests with other people because... well at my age (33) people do not watch cartoons, or even mention it during dates, hanging out, and whatever normal people do. I live in a very boring world right now, with people who just don't get it, and am just looking to have conversations about anything to do with anime, manga, music, or video games. I loved anime since I was born, and cannot stop even though society wants me to. Hopefully I will meet people that are really into the same stuff I am into. I am pretty old school, but have been watching new anime lately... so I am not too out of date. Hit me up with a message or whatever. I do not mind talking about any anime. If I do not know it, I am always open to watching new ones. I am looking forward to be involved with this forum!!

@SanguineTear thanks, you’re tha best. @ArchieKun thank you! It’s an old house, coming together little by little. @Illusion of Terra It’s a sitting room with a book shelf (holding my fav board games & books) and those chairs and an old army field desk repurposed as a game table. That is a wood chess board (el cheapo tbh).

@Illusion of Terra that’s where I got the idea, I’m enjoying our Shield hero discussion. If we did watch Flying witch together I’d be open to an episode a day, or even one a week. Whatever y’all can do works for me. @Dot.com I liked the first episode pretty decently, kind of slow & has a slice of life feel to it, which I wasn’t expecting given the name. But I like the mythical elements that give it character. So far so good

Cold as opposed to hot. Sweetness and flavoring depends on what I'm having with it and my mood. Usually I like it somewhat (but not overly) sweet, but if I'm eating something that's already sweet with it, sometimes I'll drink it with no sweetener or sugar whatsoever. I also like Tradewinds Raspberry & Snapple Peach, especially when it's hot oustide

@SanguineTear I see, so you mean something like someone who is willing to kill someone is probably not going to change (there actually was a famous philosopher who thought so too). Too bad you don't want to debate it, would have been interesting! Maybe we mean the same thing with what I said that it is a bit too simple. Moral parsimony, if it actually is moral parsimony, should not be based on any kind of social correctness (I'm not saying it is not used like that, just saying it should not). Rules like "the morally right thing to do is to always give white people an advantage" or "it is morally right to always maximize the amount of damage you can do to society" would be very parsimonious, even though many would not call it morally right. That's also what I mean with that the quiz is too simple, it probably doesn't factor in such rule (although I'm not sure it doesn't). So yeah, maybe they only factor in rules that kinda presuppose ideas like "killing is wrong" but I can't be sure. In some European countries, policemen are not allowed to kill an attacker if it is not necessary. They are only allowed to use the kind of force that is necessary in the given situation. Of course this is hard to judge especially when the attacker has a firearm etc. I do get the problem of putting your colleagues at risk but I suppose that is something that takes a lot of experience to judge correctly. (this doesn't refer to this debate specifically, just in general) I also want to add that in philosophy people are quite straightforward, so if someone has an opinion which someone else thinks is false or not well argued for, philosophers usually say so in exactly those words. Just making sure no one thinks that someone wants to offend someone else.

  49. 3 points
That's simply preposterous! πŸ˜‚ I do think that's slowly changing though, isn't it? What bothers me nowadays (not so much when I was younger) is when there is too much 'fan-service' in an anime, by which I mean that characters are dressed or behave in a certain way simply because of the fan service and other than that it does not make any sense. If in some way it is well incorporated into the whole story then I kinda get it, but other than that it always looks like a cheap attempt to get people to watch it. Another thing is when they design the story in such a way that there is a huge cliffhanger just right at the end of the season. I get why they do it, but for me it is more important that the story as a whole is well-rounded rather than being attention grabbing at the end of each episode or season.

Yusuke Urameshi I was 14 when I first saw this show, amd I immediately connected with Yusuke. I was more or less the same at that age. Super rebellious, loner, trouble maker, liked throwing hands. It was like the perfect show for me. Obviously, I'm older and more mature now, but that anime will always be special to me.
