  2. The title pretty much says it. In what way do you think anime has changed? There are the obvious changes of the art styles getting different because of different technology and more people working on it. But I also think it has changed in quite a few other ways. Two things I've noticed is that in the last decade or so there seem to be more LGBT characters (or it is more accepted than in 80s/90s anime) and more fan-service for female viewers. Of course DBZ had a lot of guys without shirts, but I think that the main goal there was to show how strong they are, and not necessarily appeal to women. It also seems, but I might be wrong, that there seem to be more shorter anime than before? Maybe it's just that I forgot most of the short anime of before 2000 though. What have you noticed, and what do you think of this change?

  4. One was cheese and one was cheese with sausage and bacon bits. I ate 4 pieces of the sausage/bacon yesterday (and two of the cheese) for dinner but there is still some of the cheese one left. I can hear it calling to me, even from two rooms away. It is saying, "I'm good for lunch too".

  8. Unless you have a great deal of free time I would advise against HxH as it is not a short series. I watched to around episode 80 or so before putting it on hold. Not because it was bad, but because I burned out on it. Would like to resume it again someday, but takes a significant time commitment even being split into arcs. My own suggestions would be Mob Psycho II or Violet Evergarden. VE would be your best bet if you want something that is complete in a single cour and though definitely not shonen it does have some action sequences. I’m not as big a fan as some because I really enjoyed some episodes, but some did nothing for me. Still worth checking out IMO. As far as Mob Psycho, since you’re listing season 2, I assume you’ve already seen and enjoyed season 1. Season 2 seemed to dedicate more time to the feels aspect of the show, but there are still some mindblowingly animated fights. Of course not everything is resolved by it’s end, but no cliffhanger and it does feel like a satisfying chapter in the story.

  9. I hate "on fleak", also "snatched". People sound so idiotic nowadays saying this like, "Wow, her outfit is so snatched", what is that supposed to mean!? My little sister talks like that and it really gets under my skin, lol. There is a lot more slang I hate as well but the list would be far too extensive to write down, lol, why can't we all just speak our native languages, are they not perfectly fine as is?

  11. Hunter x Hunter is a must-watch and you should give it a go if you like adventure alike anime and in times it can become quite dark. Not your average shonen anime if I may say so. I have seen Hyouka as well as Classroom of the Elites, both MC's are smart and come to reasonable conclusions (that's how I would sum up both of them) so if they were both recommended to you then you are either into mysteries or riddles or have an affection to MC's outwitting their opponents with ease. Unlike Classroom of the Elites, Hyouka has no fight scenes so it's more about mysteries and the MC is supposed to solve them accordingly (against his will) but he refuses to waste energy on anything that is bothersome and this goes so on throughout the series. Watch the first 3 episodes and look for yourself whether it's something you would enjoy, it's certainly not for everyone as it may seem boring to some. Classroom of the Elites involves more fighting and MC is cunning as well - I expected it to be just like any other anime with no special story but It's more than meets the eye. I gave it a rating of 9 out of 10 which is pretty rare. It resembles a bit Oregairu the way the MC thinks so it's up to you to decide whether you would enjoy watching it. Actually 1-2 episodes should be plenty to give you an idea of how this anime is build up. Only other anime on ur list ive seen is Violet Evergarden, it's great and you should check the reviews on AF if you want. To sum it up - MC is a girl who was used as a tool to win wars, she met a man she calls Major (her superior) and after the war ended she had nowhere to go. So she became a ghost writer (thats how you would call it now i guess) for a friend of the major using a write machine. It takes place around the 20th century most likely. Basically she goes around and visits people who are not able to write and therefore need the help of Violet. Each encounter with a "customer" is unique on its own way. Violet Evergarden has by far the best visuals from what you could expect of an anime, along with Kino no Tabi (remake). Have fun watching and I would recommend you Oregairu if you like Classroom of the Elites.

  13. I'd have to go with GTO. Although I did like Hellsing and Fruits Basket, furuba is slow right now, as it's still airing. You should definitely give it a chance when you can watch it in decent segments. The weekly release isn't working for me on this one. Great Teacher Onizuka may be perverted (but it's a very common theme) so I'm going to assume this doesn't bother you. I loved the story personally- I feel like there was a lot of depth and meaning to it, its not your run of the mill HS drama or comedy, but does incorporate both of those genres and does it well. I like the MC backstory, he's well written. His desire to be a teacher is another bonus for me, I feel like a lot of teachers take their jobs too lax, and he is just the opposite. In all, if you're into high school settings in anime, real life situations and discussions go with GTO, it will be an enjoyable ride.

  14. Haven't seen all of them myself, and only remember some of them, but here are my thoughts on two of them. I started Great Teacher Onizuka but didn't like it. It's quite 'perverted' to a point where I thought it really was unnecessary and at least for me removed quite a bit of the comedic aspects. Hunter x Hunter is pretty much a shonen, so if you dislike them, I'm not sure you are going to like this one. I personally think it's a great anime but if you are not into the whole fighting and becoming stronger thing, then it's probably not your cup of tea. You might still want to give it a try though

  16. The Sims 4 (PC) Haven't played this in a few weeks so decided to progress on my Sim's celebrity path. Stardew Valley (Switch) Just downloaded this game over the weekend and so far I'm hooked. I haven't been able to actually sit down and play it for a longer period of time just because my weekend has been quite busy. However I did get started on my farm and did some foraging as well. Definitely going to sit down and actually put some time on it sometime Sunday, lol.

  18. Anime can be uplifting in so many ways. I enjoy the imagery, the Japanese way of life, carefully woven into some; and above all, the wonderfully inspiring words used by many of the characters. Thinking back, what were some of the characters or their quotes that have uplifted your spirit or inspired you in a certain way. ———- In the latest episode that I have watched of Magi, Aladdin gives an inspiring speech (though one of many) this one really uplifted my heart to realize such happiness and beauty from my life’s experiences and something as simple as remembering my friends. He said: I’ve met people that now mean everything to me. Because of this, I’ve ended up falling in love with this world Aladdin is such a sweet soul, I will continue to find happiness in this anime I am sure.

  19. For me to really like a character I have to be able to either connect with them on a personal level or be inspired, moved and/or affected by them. This is why I love Armin so much (if that wasn't clear enough by my profile alone), because I can both connect with him and be extremely inspired and affected by him at the same time. Most of my favourite quotes actually come from the little blond genius, such as: "A person who cannot sacrifice everything won't be able to change anything!" and, "There's nothing wrong with valuing your own life." I especially like mentioning these two together because as someone who deals with anxiety and depression it is often hard to over come the fear of losing something you love, but it is also extremely tough to value your own life or the things you want. So, while watching AoT and hearing these quotes for the first time they impacted me quite a lot and I began to focus more on how I felt as if placing value on myself and the things I loved was extremely selfish of me and therefore wrong, while also believing that if I sacrificed those things I loved I would also be being selfish because I did not deserve them and should not take them for granted. However, these quotes helped me to realize that it is important that I value my own life and things I love while also realizing that sacrificing them is important and does not mean I do not value them or that I am selfish in giving them away, but that I am working towards my goals and paving a way for my future and the change I so desperately want in my life. (I hope this makes sense, I tried to describe it as clearly as I could) Another one of my favourite quotes from Armin is: "Willpower alone isn't enough in battle." This one, although it may seem quite negative or even somewhat disheartening, was also another quote that really impacted me in my struggles with mental illness. I know this may not be in the exact context or meaning of the quote but I personally view this as a reminder that willpower is not enough when it comes to the struggles I have faced and will continue to face in my life. When I was younger I often thought that it was my fault I was struggling with my mental illnesses so much because I wasn't strong enough or brave enough. However, I now know that the message of this quote is extremely true. Sometimes willpower is not enough, sometimes you're going to need help, sometimes you're going to have to reach out and trust in others more than you trust in yourself and that's alright. The last quote I'd like to mention from Armin is: ""I don't like the terms 'good person' or 'bad person' because it's impossible to be entirely good to everyone or entirely bad to everyone. To some, you are a good person, while to others, you are a bad person." This is yet another quote that I often think about and remember when I'm dealing with anxiety and depression because it reminds me that I'm not perfect and I'm never going to be perfect. I can never be 100% good to everyone or 100% bad to everyone therefore I shouldn't beat myself up over my mistakes or the people I've upset. It is good to try and be as good as we can be but there's no point in feeling worthless and unlovable when you make mistakes and mess up because no one is perfect and that's alright.

  28. I like the design idea for the fairies, it's reminiscent of the ones from Pan's Labyrinth. Osmond's parents knowing about it would provide a good opportunity to introduce some of those marriage candidates as rivals. I also want to try my hand at drawing the characters; this is gonna be rough

  29. Oooohhhhh- what if osmonds parents know about the Empyrean and have been grooming him for marriage (of a selected candidate for empyreal power) in order to ultimately take the power for themselves that’s how his parents goons found him, they know about his destiny (but have kept it from him, grooming him as a vessel for their use)

  33. Thank you for saying that I use y'all a lot myself! I personally can't stand "Roasted". One of my coworkers uses it constantly and it is getting to be really annoying. "Baby-daddy" is another one I find annoying. Please find some other way to refer to your ex...like I don't know....your EX. I had another coworker in the past who talked about her "Baby-daddy" almost nonstop. Wanted to pull my hair out. I don't need nor do I want an explanation that you had a child with the guy everytime you want to refer to him, no matter how short the explanation is.
