  2. I just saw a youtube video of some guys trying some really spicy food and thought back to something I did, and got the idea for this. Have you ever eaten or drank something that was exceptional to the point of being disgusting, dangerous or in any other way unusual? For me it was when I was a kid and I visited a friend whose family came from Napoli/Naples. His grandmother (who was living there) was the stereotypical Italian mom you imagine, and they brought really spicy pepper (the thin long ones, I don't know the English name for it). I used to eat a lot of spicy things back then, and couldn't imagine something being really all that spicy. I hadn't counted on the sun dried Neapolitan pepper though and just munched on it like it was nothing (they told me they only use a small slice for a whole pot of pasta but I thought I knew better). Soon afterwards I felt a burning sensation quickly spreading from my tongue, through my mouth to my nose, face and lungs. It was so spicy that it felt like someone was literally pouring fire over me All the others were rolling on the floor laughing while I was in agony and almost blanked out. They gave me a lot of cold milk but that only helped for like a second. At some point my mouth went numb and I was sweating buckets. It took like half an hour to get to a point where the pain started to recede. I was just relieved that the burning sensation was gone at some point

  7. @Illusion of Terra There does seem to be quite a few things I could apply my degree to upon graduating so my earlier statement of not knowing how to apply it to my life is more of a personal lack of not knowing exactly what I actually want to do with it, rather than a lack of use for said degree ... @The History Kid As I said above it is a good degree with practical use and therefore I think it would be a much worse waste of my time if I simply gave up on it due to the fact that I personally don't find much enjoyment in it. There are many things in life that we must do out of necessity not personal enjoyment or passion, this seems to be one of those things ... in this day and age it seems vital to have a good degree in order to make it in any well paying job and if my not-so-enjoyable days in college help me achieve that then that's all that really matters. Ps. I do believe my first statement may have depicted my view of college in a worse light than I meant it to. I do not actually view college as a waste of time, it simply feels like I have often missed out on many important experiences in my life since I am instead focused more on building a stable structure for my life and/or career rather than just enjoying life for the moment ... also, although school does cause me extreme amounts of anxiety it isn't rare for anything with any sense of importance in my life to cause anxiety as well, so that isn't as much a worry as is the fact that I desperately hope I can manage to make it to graduation and actually earn a degree in something useful.

  10. I never got into sports anime, maybe I just don't like anything about sports. Closest thing I could watch to sports anime was Baki the grappler, since some martial arts are sports, some what. And Baki and the rest of the fighters don't have any super powers.

  14. While they were hugging me, knowing what their intention was, inject them with a poison which knocks (but not kills) them out, then while they were out drop them into shark infested waters, wakes them up and shouts "good luck!" then kick the engine into gear to make my escape, but not realizing by kicking my engine into gear the engine falls off my boat leaving me stranded with them, so I reach out and pull them into the boat, we argue for a few minutes because we've tuck this too far, so we agree we need to find a way to get out of this situation. okay... that was one way too long response

  20. @The History Kid Completely forgot about tuition since we don't have to pay them over here. Kinda puts a whole lot more pressure on you. But yeah, student debt would have made me think twice about the degrees I was interested in. In the end I had a similar experience as ItsSammy. I, and many others, just thought the work you do with that degree would be a lot different from what it actually is, and we only very slowly realized that. If you think 'Biology' you might imagine someone studying deep sea animals and diving off the coast of New Guinea, but it usually is just sitting in an almost sterile lab environment putting one liquid into another over and over again with very little result. Sure, there are people who work like you imagined, but it often is an exception, mostly because there just isn't enough money for deep sea animal research, but huge sums of money for yet another cholesterol medication. But since we didn't "waste" any money (or increase debt), many could just keep going and see if it gets better. Some at some point adapted, others changed either right from the beginning, or after their Bachelors/Masters. If I had to choose a major now, I would really try and inform myself what it actually is that I will probably do afterwards and what the chances are.

  24. I will start watching this soon, then I can have a true opinion of the series. So far from what you’ve told us, it seems very interesting with the concept alone, but the characters and art style all look amazing too. Can’t wait to see what the story plays out like.

  25. When I was coming up with that way out, I couldn't place why a piece of clothing (or in this case the bandanna) was in my mind, now I know why, subliminal messaging

  26. I love the fact that you thought to cover your mouth with something to avoid breathing in the harmful gas, I wouldn’t have thought about that so readily, probably not until I was suffering. The lunch. Was wrapped in a bandana, so you could have used that. @Wedgy looked out for you with that cleverly hidden item

  27. @ItsSammy I've spent way too much time at college, not knowing what exactly I wanted to study, so here are my two cents on it, not sure if it'll be any useful to you though. In retrospect I think it's advisable to try and answer those questions, like how you're going to apply it. Often there are many ways which you didn't know about. This depends on the country etc. but if you study pharmacy for example, there are many more things you can do than just work at a pharmacy, such as consulting, research, sales-rep, PR, teaching instruction courses, or even work at museums or in journalism. Those infos can be difficult to get and you should definitely look out for how likely it is that you can get a job like that (for example if you actually studied pharmacy, while it is technically possible to get a job at a big newspaper for their science section, only very few people actually work there). In the end it's some kind of middle ground between doing something you enjoy and doing something that'll pay the bills.

  28. I'm currently enrolled in college for a degree I don't actually have much/any interest in and have no idea how I'm going to apply it to my life after I've graduated (if I even make it that far) ... school in general has also just been causing me copious amounts of anxiety that have led to absolutely horrendous sleeping patterns due to the fact that I feel like my entire life is passing me by while I waste precious time working towards something I have no passion for or interest in ... On a more lighthearted note one of the shows I was watching ended on a pretty big cliff hanger so I guess I'd say I'm a bit annoyed by that.

  29. Hmm, this is a difficult one if all I have is a shovel, goggles and a lunch, unless can I use the debris? if so I'd remove a piece of clothing to wrap around my mouth/nose, use the goggles to keep the cloth in place, collect the drill bits, use the shovel to hammer the drill bits into the wall to create a ledge i can use to climb out of the hole, when i reach the top I'd climb out, rest and eat my lunch - You wake up on a raft, in the middle of the ocean, scared and confused, a ship passes by and pirates kidnap you, your locked in a room with the pocket knife the pirate dropped on his way out of the room, a mobile phone with a dead battery and a lighter.

  32. I follow a few anime youtubers mostly for news, and to get perspective even if I do not always agree with their opinions. One thing I would like to see more is a youtuber that covers a few anime news stories like a lot of gaming, or tech channels. Though then youtuber is harder on anime content being shown then they are for gaming.

  34. Three things that annoy me are... Potholes on the road - potholes are really annoying, they are very common in local areas, a lot of councils don't seem to care, my car has been damaged several times, there has also been times when cyclists have gone into a pothole without seeing them and end up falling off their bicycles, highly dangerous. Inconsiderate dangerous drivers - they over take without care to other drivers, pull out of a road without looking, speed on roundabouts, the list goes on. Speed bumps - there doesn't seem to be one set standard when it comes to speed bumps, they are designed to slow vehicles down, but what really annoys me is, they are either not aligned correctly on the road, too high that when you go over them slowly the car bounces, or in such a bad state damage the wheels.
