  4. Same here. If I did my job like that I wouldn't have my job. This isn't just game companies either. The whole software industry does it, up to and including the OS vendors. (Except maybe some open-source stuff that's actually used by the people who programmed it.) Worse, the "updates" to "fix bugs" are tied to the new feature releases, so if you just want upgrade to fix the bugs - to get the actual functionality that you've already paid for IOW - then they feel justified in charging you more $$$ because of the new features. And of course the new features have their own bugs (and/or force you into other unwanted compromises like paying for otherwise unneeded new hardware), and the cycle repeats. It is an industry-wide scam that preys on clueless, gullible consumers.

  5. @Ohiotaku Sarazanmai is good but heard a lot of people say it's too weird for them because they didn't realise the grossest part would just be repeated and it wouldn't get worse. It kind of blends in, looking somewhat normal after a few episodes before they get less repetitive.

  6. This is the last thing I drew. It was inspired by a woman I saw on the bus the other day who was very beautiful. It says 'motherly' on the right-hand side since she had a baby who was silent. She looked like a very caring mother.

  7. @Seshi pretty much what @Ohiotaku just said. It was good and bad. It went more into a "liberal" direction. Instead of being about a good plot where they were saving the world or something, it went waaaaay too political. It went down the road of victimized subdemographics (blood benders being ostracized from water benders for example and having to hide themselves and "reacting" to it by behaving bad because they felt unfairly treated) instead of celebrating and uplifting diversity. It ended up feeling like someone was pushing their politics onto you and the sudden 'hetero to homo' switch of the final couple made no sense for either character's history and again felt like forced politics. I did like seeing Ang's kids and grandkids but that was pretty much it.

  9. The general consensus is NO. It’s biggest shortcoming IMO was that where the original was a single coherent story divided into different chapters, but each season of Korra felt like it was telling it’s own story, albeit with a cast of recurring characters and some story overlap. There were some pretty cool depictions of characters from the previous series though, so as a fan of the original it might be worth checking out. The other thing is what they tried to make a big deal about in the finale felt more like a gimmick that was just tacked on at the end for attention.

  22. I didn't really think FMA:B was that amazing, especially since it was so hyped up before I watched it and then just didn't live up to my expectations. Alphonse Elric was a much more interesting and lovable character than Edward Elric. Naruto was definitely not for me seeing as I quit watching it after only 3-4 episodes due to my annoyance with the writing. (This may not be a very unpopular opinion normally but it seems like it is on this forum ...) I actually love SNK and think that almost all of the characters are very interesting and relatable in their own ways. I also think the story is pretty intriguing and although it hasn't shown much yet (still haven't watched S3 so maybe it shows a bit more, I don't know) it's more of a mystery/thriller show (in my opinion) than just a straight up horror show. Armin Arlert is an extremely underrated character. Mikasa Ackerman is an extremely overrated character. ***Some SAO spoilers bellow*** SAO lost all of its charm (for me) after the harem aspect of it was introduced and every female character in the show just seemed to fall head-over-heels in love with Kirito after mere moments of knowing him. The whole Suguha x Kirito arc was extremely unnecessary and irritating. It seemed like just another way for the creators to say that Kirito is perfect and no one can resist him, not even his own family members, because he's just that perfect ... ick. *** Over used chibi or chibi in a serious anime and/or scene is strange and takes me out of the moment so quick. I also agree with @Wedgy and think that the baby-like voices for female characters are extremely irritating.

  24. I think most slice of life anime. Since they're slice of life, they start out looking like for adults. Set in the real world with boring everyday activities. And most of them can be child-friendly. But not all of them. I can see a child watching Bunny Drop for instance. Another one would be Hajime Ippo. It does seem for adults from the start because it's about boxing. But you realize it's shounen eventually. And a kid would enjoy watching it.

  25. Welcome, glad you found this place I joined these forums because the activity on my one old one had been declining for quite a while, and it quickly became my new favorite. People here are really easy to talk to. You say XXXholic is your favorite anime, do you like any other CLAMP series (Cardcaptor Sakura, Magic Knight Rayearth, Kobato, etc.)? Some recommendations for series similar to XXXholic would be: The Ancient Magus Bride, The Morose Monokean, Mushishi, Midnight Occult Civil Servants & Beautiful Bones. For the record, Beautiful Bones doesn’t deal with the supernatural, but the two MCs remind me of Yuko & Kimihiro Anyway, hopefully you find enough things that interest you to stick around.
