I started a blog, I'll be talking about anime and nonsense if you're interested followed. My horrifying face revealed!4 points

@The History Kid Glad you’re enjoying it, definitely one of the funnier recent series IMO. There’s a movie coming out in Japan soon, hopefully CR will stream it eventually The characters are also pretty prominent in Isekai Quartet, though if you’re not familiar with the other series, a lot of jokes aren’t as funny.3 points

KonoSuba is a pretty fun anime. I'd recommend it as a comedy to anyone who likes fantasy RPG elements. It's got a raunchy sense of humor at times, but the subtle jokes are what get me.3 points

Congrats on top score for my MCU quiz. It would take a perfect score now to take that spot.2 points

Hyped for Isekai Quartet getting another season with new “transfer students” (fingers crossed for characters from Shield Hero or Reincarnated as a Slime)2 points

I generally don’t buy into the concept of an anime with universal appeal since everyone has their own tastes. I much prefer to think that in the vast variety of anime series there’s something for everyone instead of a few series that appeal to everyone. It’s much easier to recommend series on an individual basis . As far as exploring, I would recommend subscribing to a streaming service with a variety of titles and check out series where the concept interests you even if it’s not a genre you usually watch. I doubt Romance, Sports or Reverse Harems will ever be favorites of mine, but I have come across examples that were surprisingly enjoyable. That being said, there are some favorites of mine that tend to be pretty widely appreciated (regardless, I would recommend watching before buying if possible) Cowboy Bebop Fullmetal Alchemist (both versions are sufficiently different that they are worth checking out, though my own preference is Brotherhood) Trigun Cardcaptor Sakura Mushishi Death Note My Hero Academia Most of these are pretty mainstream, but when recommending more obscure stuff, I prefer to know a bit mire about what they’re looking for2 points

I'd love to see that. It's be hilarious to see how huge this universe can get. Other notable potential isekai anime are No Game No Life, Sword Art Online, and Log Horizon. This could be its own entire thread, lol.1 point

There's already self-driving big-rigs. I'm sure they could make one that could handle a boat or other trailer, if there isn't one already.1 point

It’s fairly recent but there’s a series called Hakata Tonkatsu Ramens that I recommend to anyone who likes Durarara, Bacanno or Black Lagoon. A word of warning it is pretty violent and has a very dark sense of humor.1 point

I haven’t seen it but I may speculate that it’s like that a lot of remakes. I for one didn’t like the new FMA, because I felt like the old one was just fine, so it was almost insulting to have it remade, since I liked the original so much.1 point

Would never work around here. I can't imagine a self driving car being able to safely trailer a boat. I don't think self driving cars are the answer. People who learned to drive in NC typically are very safe drivers, yet all my Virginia friends act like getting their first ticket (among many) for reckless driving was a rite of passage. Education and attitudes about driving is what really changes things. Like most people down South don't want to drive through NJ, because of the NJ drivers.1 point

I've had a few near-misses myself. Not fun. Maybe this is a good reason for self-driving cars? If you would rather be on your phone (or drinking or whatever) than paying attention to the traffic like a responsible driver then Tesla has a car for you! Gotta be a better idea than letting some of these people get behind the wheel.1 point

People who don't know how to drive. Really like how are you going to pull out in front of me, then get mad I honk at you. Next time maybe ill just hit you, and then explain to the cops that this person didn't even stop and just kept going. And I thought they would stop. Then they'll get a ticket and have their insurance raise through the roof.1 point

I second Trigun, Rurouni Kenshin/Samurai X, And Yuu Yuu Hakusho And would like to add Monster, and Inuyasha. For movies I’d also add some Miyazaki films in there, along with The girl who leapt through time, and Summer Wars. Like others have already said, and you probably are able to tell, everyone will have a different preference.1 point

I don't know why, but I can't watch sports on tv or IRL, it's not as interesting as playing (like you said) but in anime I can watch sports. It's just done in more depth, and you can follow someone's story from start to finish.1 point

I agree with you that Japan does make lolis sexual, and it is a common character type for anime now. I like all characters types, but I see why you wouldn’t like them.1 point

While not everything about the finale was to my liking, it was still satisfying. Up to this point my pick for AOTY0 points
