  1. So the Nintendo Switch Lite was officially announced. https://www.cnet.com/news/nintendo-switch-lite-is-smaller-cheaper-and-handheld-only/ Is any one planning to pick one up? I have been on the fence about picking one up for awhile now, but I have been hesitant to because of the price. $200 sounds like a good price point for me.

  2. Fore force: Another good summer 2019 anime started this week. It is being produced David Production studios, and has already started climbing the anime charts. The Synopsis: Year 198 of the Solar Era in Tokyo, special fire brigades are fighting against a phenomenon called spontaneous human combustion where humans beings are turned into living infernos called "Infernals." While the Infernals are first generation cases of spontaneous human combustion, later generations possess the ability to manipulate flames while retaining human form. Shinra Kusakabe, a youth who gained the nickname Devil's Footprints for his ability to ignite his feet at will, joins the Special Fire Force Company 8 which composes of other flames users as they work to extinguish any Infernals they encounter. As a faction that is creating Infernals appears, Shira begins to uncover the truth behind a mysterious fire that caused the death of his family twelve years ago. (Source: Wikipedia) The series looks really good, I think it’s got a lot in common with Blue Exorcist in the way the characters act, as well as the elements in the plot. Visually it is an appealing anime and hosts an interesting concept opposed to traditional firefighting. Being set in an alter reality type of world, the concepts are interesting enough to grab my attention for now. I look forward to the MCs growth as he is currently a new recruit of the fire force and not a full fledged member.

  3. So I have an anime website called Anime Gauge. It basically scores and ranks anime similar to the Billboard Top 100. It's different from other websites like MAL and Ani DB because the score is taken from reviewers all over the internet. Resulting in a more comprehensive score. For example a MAL score is just from MAL users. Ani DB scores are just from Ani DB users. And so on. Also, Anime Gauge takes scores from MAL, Ani DB, IMDB, Anime Planet and pretty much every major anime website. About 2 months ago I started thinking maybe I should add anime recommendations. To help users find new anime to watch that they would really enjoy. So I posted a blog entry and got some awesome feedback. Thank you to the people who commented on that post. The biggest issue seemed to be the "recommendation" itself. It seemed that in other anime sites, their recommendations were contributed by users. Now that would not work for my website because the site's focus is not on community but in ranking anime. But I realized I already knew which anime were good and which were not. Because I have the data for it. So I decided to use the rankings in making my generator. Making it a tad different to the anime recommendations of other anime sites. And I'm finally done! It took me about a month to make it. haha (I am not a skilled programmer) I actually tested it here in the forums. That would explain me posting a lot in the Recommendations forum. If you are interested or bored, feel free to check it out at: www.animegauge.com/anime-suggestions

  4. This question is definitely a matter of individual taste. But I just wanted to ask YOU what features in anime you find beautiful? Feel free to share an image to help you describe your preferred anime art style.

  5. So for those of you who don’t know about the crazy U.S. news... A teenage girl was caught licking bluebell ice cream and putting the container back for customers to purchase Since then, she has been turned over to juvenile court, however - many others have joined her in this food tampering barrage. There have been loogies spit into Arizona tea, mouthwash being spit back into containers, and various other accounts of ice creams being contaminated as well. Do people not realize that this gross activity could kill some poor unsuspecting child or old person? I am feeling ashamed for my society right now. Not only are they potentially hurting customers, they are hurting companies.

  7. I can't stand pizza rolls you can literally taste the factory in them. Plus they are almost all doh. Glad you enjoyed though/

  8. Well I like so much of it. I tend to like art styles where the eyes are large and round, and where there is a heavy emphasis on colors for a purpose. Shana is a good example of this as is Fruits Basket. I am not entirely picky though I love anime, and there have honestly been very few art styles for it that I hated besides Ajin.

  9. I have been following the news related to this. I am glad its finally official though it is always seemed odd to me as well. It certainly won't live up to its namesake if it is only portable. Though with the success of the DS and 3DS it makes sense for them to go to the formula that dose work well. Would also be cool if the tv feature was sold desperately for a good price.

  10. I thought Promised Neverland was great. I had not seen many anime like that before, so I thought it was quite different but also quite dark in a sense. Really interested to see what happens next and if that world is just a purely fictional one or is supposed to be Earth.

  11. Interesting idea and probably more suitable for people on a budget. If you don't need it right away, I'd say to wait a bit for it to go on sale (although Nintendo consoles, except for handhelds, don't go on sale that much). I think 200 is already pretty decent for someone who mostly just wants to play the games. The biggest drawback to me seems to be that you probably won't be able to play it with other people on one console considering the screen size. Then again, who actually has friends nowadays, amiright

  13. You may like Killing Bites and Kakegurui. Also Juni Taisen: Zodiac Wars or Deadman Wonderland (though that one was never finished)

  14. Isekai Cheat Magician - fairly standard start for an isekai, but the characters seem likable . Pretty sure I’ll stick with this one.

  15. There's always Fate. There's a lot of seasons, so here's a 'watch order' for you, although the vast majority of them are either spin-offs or standalone series. There are only 3 'main' Fate series: Fate/Zero (2 seasons) https://myanimelist.net/anime/10087/Fate_Zero?q=fate%2Fzero https://myanimelist.net/anime/11741/Fate_Zero_2nd_Season?q=fate%2Fzero Fate/Stay Night: Unlimited Blade Works (2 seasons) Please make sure to watch the TV version, not the movie. https://myanimelist.net/anime/22297/Fate_stay_night__Unlimited_Blade_Works?q=ubw https://myanimelist.net/anime/28701/Fate_stay_night__Unlimited_Blade_Works_2nd_Season Fate/Stay Night: Heaven's Feel (3 movies) https://myanimelist.net/anime/25537/Fate_stay_night_Movie__Heavens_Feel_-_I_Presage_Flower?q=heaven%27s%20feel https://myanimelist.net/anime/33049/Fate_stay_night_Movie__Heavens_Feel_-_II_Lost_Butterfly?q=heaven%27s%20feel https://myanimelist.net/anime/33050/Fate_stay_night_Movie__Heavens_Feel_3?q=heaven%27s%20feel Fate/Zero and Fate/Stay Night: Unlimited Blade Works can be watched in any order, but you must watch Fate/Zero before Fate/Stay Night: Heaven's Feel. The rest of Fate are all spin-offs, and have very varying quality. Fate/kaleid liner Prisma☆Illya: A magical girl series starring Illya from Fate/Stay Night. The order is: Fate/kaleid liner Prisma☆Illya Fate/kaleid liner Prisma☆Illya 2wei! Fate/kaleid liner Prisma☆Illya 2wei Herz! Fate/kaleid liner Prisma☆Illya 3rei!! Fate/kaleid liner Prisma☆Illya Movie: Sekka no Chikai Fate/Apocrypha: A spin-off about a team battle between two groups of Servants and Masters. This really isn't very good. Fate/Extra: Last Encore: A spin-off about whatever the hell this series is about. This REALLY isn't very good. Carnival Phantasm: A sketch comedy show staring a bunch of characters from Fate, as well as a few other series that are set in the same universe. Emiya-san Chi no Kyou no Gohan: A cooking show in which the Fate characters all sit down for a nice meal. Should be watched after you've completed all of the 'main' Fate series. Fate/Stay Night (2006): This is technically a part of the main Fate series, but it's really badly made, and Unlimited Blade Works mostly patches the gaps. Skip this, unless you particularly like the memes. Fate/Grand Order: These are related to the mobile game. If you don't intend on playing that, then there's not much point in watching these. The order is: Fate/Grand Order: First Order (a prologue to the game) Fate/Grand Order: Camelot (an anime adaptation of one of the later chapters of the game) Fate/Grand Order: Babylonia (an anime adaptation of another chapter of the game) Kara no Kyoukai: This is a series of 8 movies set in the same world as Fate. The order is mostly self-explanatory. Tsukihime: Another series set in the same world as Fate. Don't watch this. Lord El-Melloi II Sei no Jikenbo: Rail Zeppelin Grace Note: A mystery series starring an adult version of Waver Velvet from Fate/Zero. You must have watched Fate/Zero first.

  16. That sounds like Dorei-ku: The Animation, but honestly, we thought it was really bad, so we'll recommend that you watch either Kaiji: Ultimate Survivor, or Mahjong Legend Akagi instead. They are also darkish gambling anime, but they're way better.

  17. Well, I like it a lot, relatable character, nice intro, got my attention. Just a couple of tense (past/future tense) issues but other than that its really good.

  18. Granbelm - magical girls fighting using giant robots. Not actually good, but different so will probably give it a couple episodes. Could be similar to Mai Hime. Arifureta - basically an unlikable character ranting for a half hour. Don’t usually one-and-done a new series, but will make sn exception in this case.

  21. The eyes! I'm super attracted to girls with big eyes. Anime exaggerates that feature which makes the girls that much more attractive to me.

  24. I was pretty satisfied with season one. I really liked Emma's and Ray's characters, but I might have to have someone explain what exactly was going on during some scenes.

  25. Yes.. that’s what my hubby said. They just want attention. I said it was a social justice issue, and people feel that they are sticking up for her.. but really? Is this something we need to stick up for? I’m tired of social justice, if this is what it means. It’s an attack on our economic system when it comes to this type of tampering.

  26. I feel like many people share the same sentiment. Did you finish Steins;Gate 0? I have only seen the original, the movie, and some specials. @Seshi, Ray is my favorite character so far, but I like Emma and Norman too. I'm kind of glad Emma is the protagonist, though.

  29. You can definitely tell it’s by the same guy who created Soul Eater. We’ve barely gotten a glimpse of the characters and the world they live in. Can’t wait to see how it develops.

  30. I once cooked borscht in a large vat and when my brother asked what’s for breakfast, answer was borscht, lunch? Borscht, dinner? Borscht we still joke about it years later But really, soups are so cheap and versatile.
