Badges and username colors honestly both would be pretty funny. I would like to see both in the future. Would make it a bit more fun as well as more personal.

Usually you have to take more than one literature class so I guess this would substitute one of them.

Hello everybody. My name is April. I am kind of a closet geek, and because of that nobody knows that I like anime, jrock, fashion, or anything of the nature. I am scared to share my interests with other people because... well at my age (33) people do not watch cartoons, or even mention it during dates, hanging out, and whatever normal people do. I live in a very boring world right now, with people who just don't get it, and am just looking to have conversations about anything to do with anime, manga, music, or video games. I loved anime since I was born, and cannot stop even though society wants me to. Hopefully I will meet people that are really into the same stuff I am into. I am pretty old school, but have been watching new anime lately... so I am not too out of date. Hit me up with a message or whatever. I do not mind talking about any anime. now you're just making me curious XD I can only wonder what the cosplayer did to get arrested. I feel that, I used to go out into the woods and train with a sword, using the woods as a training course to enhance my skills. I was aspiring to be like Akame from Akame Ga Kill! Oh no Okay.. when I was in middle school, watching Rurouni Kenshin on toonami after school, I set up an outdoor training area resembling Yahikos and used an old broom handle to practice kenshins sword draw/ attack. It was pretty awesome and I attribute that to my ability to slice an object in half when thrown into the air with a short sword today Probably more memories to come- and still really weebish, so making more all the time Great thread topic btw.

They delivered lunch to us operations folks here supporting the Chandrayaan-2 launch. However, as it turns out the launch itself was scrubbed due to technical difficulties. The schedule was pretty much cleared for the launch so there's really nothing to do for the rest of the shift, but plenty of grub. Best possible outcome IMHO.

The Ones Within episode 2 - WTH did I just watch? As long as you don’t let rational thought get in the way, this show is a riot. I don’t know how the actual dialogue compares since I’ve only found the dub, but the english VAs are perfect. Probably my pleasant surprise of the season. BEM episode 1 - definitely very stylish with an oldschool noir feel to it. Will take a couple episodes to tell if it’s worthwhile.

Hey everyone, I was just thinking - because it was brought to my attention by @Illusion of Terra that the "following" function could be used to do something more than let us know when a member posts a status update. I think it would be really great if it could also let us know when members post in a club. This could either be an update to the "following" member function, or it could be an attribute to the club section altogether. Anyway, an update when someone posts in a club would be really nice. I for one, follow certain members waiting for them to post more creative content, such as @SAO LILDOOP I'd love to be notified when they post a new Poem What do y'all think?

Was this not available before the platform changed? Afaik, there was this option where you could tick a checkbox and get notified whenever followers post or create a thread in any or on a specific forum section. It's possible to narrow down this with more options like "only follow content from anime section" so you don't get over flooded with notifications. I would probably follow the anime section directly if in case i wanted to engage in discussions and would want to stay up to date.

If I am being honest I did not do much gaming related this week apart from play some GameCube with my brother and friend.

With all the people in their 30s we should form a midlife crisis club Jokes aside though, I know quite a few people that really had a rough time around their 30s. Fortunately, most of the time it does seem to improve over time. Hopefully this will be so in your case as well

My former job position was a nonstop continuation of awkward moments. I used to be a PREA (Prison Rape Elimination Act) Manager, at what basically was a correctional facility specifically for treating and counseling alcoholics and drug addicts. Simply put my job was preventing and reducing the instances of sexual harassment and abuse of the offenders. As one of my job duties I had to train every staff member on PREA policies, and how to deal with sexual harassment and abuse scenarios. Which means I also have to define what constitutes harassment and abuse, in graphic detail. This training is mandatory for all staff, including our religious director who is a 60-some year old Catholic sister. Yeah... talking to her about all the specific things that count as sexual abuse was an awkward time. Another part of my job was intererviewing them all one-on-one and asking very personal questions. One infamous question being along the lines of "Do you have any strange fetishes?" Usually, the answer was no. However, I did have one guy that straight up told me blood turns him on, and then he went into detail. Yeah that was an... interesting conversation. Far worse than that though, was asking people if they have ever been sexually abused, and then asking for details if they said yes and were willing to talk about it. Unfortunately, a lot of guys who end up at the program have been abused in the past, too. Super awkward and uncomfortable, and you can't laugh it off like some awkward situations.

I think western education (can't speak for all of them, only the ones I saw) generally focuses too much on western literature. I once asked a teacher why we don't do anything about Japanese/Arabic/Indian/African/Chinese authors, and she couldn't even name one, let alone name specific titles From what I can see, school and college curricula are starting to include more 'foreign' literature as well. Anime could be a part of that I think. Of course not any random one, just like I don't think you can pick any random comic for a literature class. But specific anime titles for specific things, such as the use of symbolism in different cultures for literature class, certain anime for how Japan portrayed/portrays WWII for history class, or a certain philosophical issue for philosophy class, could be interesting I think (apart from the obvious use in art classes). Long story short, anime is diverse, not every anime will be useful for anything, but some could be used for specific things.

Episode 15 - seems like this will be another excellent arc. The scenery details on the mountain really succeeded in creating a haunting atmosphere and the demons this time around apparently consider themselves to be a family. Tanjiro & Inosuke are having to use their unique talents to support each other if they want to survive. Hopefully Zenitsu will do something useful next week

Reread your question, it seems the second part of my post is the case. I suspect the reason this doesn't natively occur is because the follow function operates off of the "Core" application of the Invision suite. Anything that adds onto the Core is an afterthought. I haven't handled enough of the Social components of IPS to know for sure, but I imagine the mod author should have included the ability to extend the notifications over to the clubs. Been super busy with work and life but squeezed in a little gaming here and there (more gaming than anime). I plugged in my PS3 and pulled out Kingdom Hearts 1.5 and started replaying Kingdom Hearts. Oh, the memories! Oh the music (so sad and sweet...my kind of music)! I probably spent an hour just taking my time loving on the opening (I wish Disney had some stained glass windows made like in the game)...5 hours in and I'm still on the Destiny Islands lol! I'm about to leave the Islands, but it feels good to have beaten Riku and named my own raft. I spend far too much time soaking in the music in that game and reliving my memories. Other than that, been playing Island Living on the Sims4. Enjoying it, but thinking about going back to my farm again lol...

Wanted to make such a thread and saw that it already existed, so here we go. It's not too cringy, I think. I had to go to France because of work recently to a place where people from all over the world went to. I wanted to see what some of the graduates/PhD-students were up to and saw a group in front of me talking about something in French. As an 'icebreaker' I said to the group something like "I only know bonjour and boeuf (beef) in French" (this was supposed to be random and therefore entertaining). The people were quite puzzled, so I repeated it (not making it any better ). One of them then finally said something in a different language to the others. Turns out, they weren't speaking French but Portuguese (one of them translated it), and were wondering why some random dude would come up to them and talk about beef

Shiki is my all time favorite horror anime. For something more obscure maybe try Devil Lady and/or Betterman

I was pretty satisfied with season one. I really liked Emma's and Ray's characters, but I might have to have someone explain what exactly was going on during some scenes.
