  1. Hi, I'm a newbie here and I'm looking to find people who want to get along, exchange an interest in Amine and just maybe talk? I still do not know how this website works but maybe somebody will reply, haha. What is your favourite type of anime? What is your all time favourite MANGA? I watch anime for a long time. I'm not like a crazy obsessed fangirl but I truly love it. Sometimes I feel lost in the community, because I do not know all the meanings of some categories and tend to feel shy that I enjoy watching school themed romantic animes most of the time ( Maybe it is lame in this community?I do not know. What are your thoughts?) I have never found my place in the world but Anime really comforts me so I'm looking for some international friends

  2. Hey guys, what are some random aweful group names you've heard of, that make you think "what made them pick this name"? A few come to mind for me: "Limp Bizkit"- Sounds like you got something that you cure with a little blue pill.. "Hoobastank" - Need I say more? This ones too easy to make fun of. "Korn"

  5. I remember always thinking "Hoobastank" and "Limp Bizcut" as odd too. So is- "Toad the Wet Sprocket" "Paracoccidioidomicosisproctitissarcomucosis" - I think I got that right? Lol. Longest/weirdest one for me. "Smashing Pumpkins" "The The".

  10. Hello. I’m a long-time pegasister who’d like to get into anime as well. I’m totally new to the anime scene but thought this would be a good place to get a good head start in this fandom. Everyone tells me I should start with evangelion? Idk do you guys have any anime suggestions for someone new to the fandom? As for a little about myself....I’m a college student currently residing in the sunny state of Florida, USA. I love animals so I am pursuing a career in veterinary medicine. I also love music, music producing, voice acting, and am an aspiring backyard mechanic. Don’t know if you guys heard about a place called MLP Forums. I’ve been a member there since 2016 am now a sectional moderator on that forum. Anywho...nice to meet y’all and I can’t wait to get started in anime!

  11. Hi there and welcome. Evangelion Is a good anime to start with. Maybe try Death Note or DragonBall Z if you are starting out watching anime? Those were some of the first I enjoyed but you can probably gather a lot more ideas around the forums or on MyAnimeList.

  15. OMG! I don't what everybody else think but I like the new version very much! I love when a girl is all cute and the boys are def hiding feelings.. of course, the plot is common but it's cool that it has a twist ( won't add on more spoilers). I recommend watching it and I'm looking forward to the ep19

  19. Welcome glad you found your way here From your intro sounds like most anime fans you’ve encountered were focused on shonen titles. People around here seem pretty varied in their interests and backgrounds and are friendly so you should be able to participate just fine. I’m pretty varied in my own tastes when it comes to anime (love how streaming lets me explore different genres). In general I’m not a big fan of school drama or serious romance series, but I do enjoy a number of romcoms and school slice of life series. Some examples would be: ReLIFE, Monthly Girls Nozaki-kun, Kaguya-sama Love is War, Recovery of an MMO Junkie, Yuru Camp, Azumanga Daioh, & School Rumble. To be honest their haven’t been that many manga I stayed with for very long. The exceptions being: Battle Angel Alita, Oh My Goddess, Chibi Vampire & XXXholic (despite the title, that one isn’t hentai :P) Anyway, welcome to our little haven, hope you like it here.

  21. Okay, so long week but here goes. Yes, keeping up with everyone's names is exceptionally hard in this anime. There's just so many men and just not enough time to learn about everyone. In consideration of the movie, it seemed to be scenes from the anime that were clipped shorter to fit the series in an hour and a half of screen time. That said, the nostalgia of it hit me hard and they got the pacing right. I had always felt that the series had an issue with pacing (seemed too slow sometimes then too fast) and this seemed to resolve all those issues even though they had a lot to compress. @Illusion of Terra Yeah, the series does actually explore the use of the elixir and it's actual side effects in depth. In fact, the individual members of the Shinsengumi are explored in far greater detail in the series. I always felt Sanan in the anime series to be quite dark and manipulative, but here in the movie you barely see that side of him and you certainly don't get to see the Jekyll/Hyde effect of becoming a fury. And @Blue Dragon, I believe Chiziru's importance and abilities are also shown a bit more in the anime. In actuality, a female devil is rare (if I'm remembering the anime's lore correctly) so there are additional reasons as far as "breeding" goes for the other devils to have a keen interest in her. It isn't simply prejudice, but that the longer she is there, the less time she could be forming a compatible relationship with one of her own kind. I really felt the war was underrepresented...but likely from a lack of time. If you enjoyed the movie, you will likely love the series You can also purchase these usually for only 4-5 bucks during the Sentai sales (keep an eye out for the sales if you are interested), with the series being a bit more (~10ish or so?), so it's actually a good buy too. Not too painful on the wallet if you catch a big sale. If you are interested in reverse harems (which is what Hakuoki is), Sentai is actually a good producer/distributer of them (moreso than others for sure) and a prolific producer for them. One other thing that I like about it is that there is an English dub. I know not everyone is interested in a dub, but it's nice to listen to and very well done voice-acting wise. I had forgotten how theatrical the entire series is. And, the romance isn't really big in the first season of the anime. It builds slowly, like the trust that has to build with her joining the samurai, so those of you who were kind of surprised at the end...that's okay. The general rule in reverse harems is "he who scores the most screen-time will likely get the girl" and that holds true here too. That said, the slow build is nice. It puts the war and her vulnerable position within the group at the forefront and makes the romance more believable. Like admiration turned longing as opposed to "you're hot, my heart jumped when I saw you, let's hook up!" that you get in a lot of anime. Not sure if anyone else paid attention to the time stamps, but every scene has a month and year so you can get a feeling for how long things have been developing in a direction. I will say, I missed a few scenes, which were probably things I should have paused for, but I was cooking. I think someone didn't die like they were supposed to...and the lack of plot armor for the Shinsengumi is another thing I like about it (although, when a favorite of mine dies I do get upset). It really helps to charge the emotional stake you have in the anime when no one is really all that safe. Tragedy is a good thing here. Oh and from a historical perspective, they do try to stick with history as far as the characters go. For instance, Okita having tuberculosis. That's spot on. My end feelings on it were that I'm happy I bought it and it was good to watch and remember.

  22. So after reading @Illusion of Terra's post "Anime Forums Watching Anime Movies" It made me think it might be fun to have an Anime Forums streaming night. I often use a website called "Rabb.it" which allows someone to stream a show or movie and their friends to join and watch together. It also provides a chat box next to the movie so you can chat with your friends while watching the movie. I thought if enough people were interested it might be fun to do this one night and I'd be happy to host a movie night, or stream a show, if enough people were interested in joining and watching something together. Could probably stream for several hours with several different things to allow for people to join in at a convenient time. If you'd be interested let me know here and we can hopefully get together a movie night with enough popcorn to go around for our forums to have a little online get together ^^!

  33. I am not 100% positive I will be here on Saturday. I don't know if I will be back at work on that day as of yet until I find out from my Doctor in the morning. If that's the case and I do have to be back at work, I will only be able to host this on Wednesday and Thursdays on my off days. I could do this around 10:30 PM on Saturday when I get home from work but that would be the only time on the weekend IF I end up having to return to work.

  45. I watch Pewdiepie and Nyanners a lot, I probably watch gaming channels like: Mainmanswe, Blue3Angels, A.X.L, Lionheart, etc (yea, all Tekken gaming channels, lol) the most though. And I used to watch Alex Jones by far the most but he is ban from Youtube now because of the anti-free speech agenda.
