Been trying to experiment more with simple little stories made up on the fly. They aren't particularly good, but giving myself a random set of factors to work with has at least been good warm up for day-to-day writing. Still, if anyone ever is interesting in checking them out, they are in my blog on here Link to those like myself who prefer the easy transgression3 points

I wish that tsuyuxdeku moment would of lasted just couple frames longer! Tsuyu broke the awkardness a couple seconds too early for it to be real ship material for me.1 point

I don’t believe the first 2 OVAs are licensed in the US. I watched them on Youtube, but the picture was only about a third of the screen and terrible quality. I was hoping they would be extras on season 2 or 3 disc release, but nope. A shame because I enjoyed them both. I haven’t seen the 3rd OVA. I suppose the movie really wasn’t that bad, it just didn’t feel all that special because the awesomeness of the tv series spoiled me. I was also feeling over hyped because it was the first time I’d seen a non-Ghibli anime in a theater. Edit: seems I was wrong. Don’t see the third OVA listed as an extra either.1 point

Yeah, there's actually 3 listed on the wiki: https://bokunoheroacademia.fandom.com/wiki/OVAs The first two are full episodes but the last one is the animated version of Vol 0 of the manga. That volume was passed in theaters in japan when the first movie was being shown.1 point

Its a pretty awesome show that has in fact grown quite strongly on me. I admit when I first watched it didn't think it was something I would get into it. With that said I quickly developed a love for many of the characters. It is also a series that really teaches quite a few good lessons as well. I'm glad your enjoying it.1 point

Having watched the whole first season of MHA, I can say the fight in the school's rescue simulation grounds against the real villains was SOO COOL! I loved the cleverness of the writers in how to incorporate Mineta's quirk in the fight in the water area. I also loved the Momo/Denki pair a lot. Momo's creation quirk is pretty neat because she has to know all the molecular science behind the objects. I was so afraid for Eraser Head at the end but he really fought very well. At this point, I'm getting pretty worried for All Might. He says he only has 1 hour of stamina left... (no spoilers please!) As any of you watched the OVAs yet? I'm off to watch the first one!1 point

Yes, feel free to make any suggestion for a watch party. We have done this before with movies, using this thread and have currently airing threads, that members participate in weekly, but it could be done just as well with a completed series.1 point

Ooohhh! Why are you conflicted? P.S. sorry about the drive-by messages/lurk-y behaviour lately. I'm being drowned by this paper.1 point

No, you don't need an nvidea card that costs more than your computer to do raytracing in minecraft. It is possible even on AMD's "old" RX580 (though the alpha software still has bugs), and their new RX5700 seems to work fine. That said, and while I have to admit that it does make MC look awesome, I'm not going to buy even a $400 GPU just to play MC! Not a big fan of bleeding-edge driver/software bugs either. Maybe in a couple years when the next-gen cards come out, all the bugs have been worked out, and the GPU prices on the now-current get knocked down to a couple hundred $$ because they're now "old"... (Sorry for the delay in in responding.. haven't had much free time lately so didn't see your post.) I'm not sure there's any sure-fire way to make it interesting. MC is a sandbox game so it helps to be able to come up with your own goals and side-arcs. While there is something of a goal in things like the ender dragon and the end cities I find that I get more enjoyment out of implementing the wild ideas I get along the way. I also find that it is more fun as a social thing. You do have to watch out for people who are just into griefing though. If I can find some good people to play it with then I tend to get more enjoyment out of it however. (I actually wish that the devs would work more on this aspect. If they had an in-game voice chat it would help a lot IMHO, especially if they spent as much time on rendering ambient sounds as on - for instance - ray-traced graphics. Imagine caves that sound like caves, monsters in caves, with a bunch of fellow players getting creeped out listening to monsters in caves, in VR... ) I also play on "hard" a lot, sometimes even permadeath, just to make things more interesting. I get that's not an option for people who don't like survival mode.. just my prefs. Some of the new content helps too. I too got jaded and stopped playing for a number of years. I think it was just after horses were introduced, which would have put it sometime around 2013. I didn't start up again until relatively recently with the aquatic update. (So ~2017.) If you haven't played it recently there's a lot of new stuff to discover at least, and the pace of introduction of new stuff seems to have picked up in recent years. Some of the new stuff does make it more challenging, as well as provide more opportunity for creativity. The whole village/raiders dynamic makes finding and protecting a village/villagers a nice side-arc/distraction for instance, if you're into that sort of thing. And of course, newer hardware makes the game better too. The first system I ran minecraft on could barely run it at single-digit frame rates even at a render distance of 4 or 5. Amazing at the time, but MC at that level doesn't have much holding power. Now I can run at 50fps even at a render distance above 30. Combine that with the new biome/content and it makes just wandering around and looking at the scenery a lot more enjoyable. Things like ray-tracing are continuing and enhancing that aspect. (Again, if you're into that sort of thing.) Better hardware also makes the game more responsive and therefore easier to control and less frustrating to people that aren't e-sports gods. I still get a bit of lag occasionally, but nothing like the situation where the screen freezes for a minute and when it unfreezes you're dead sort of issues I had in hardware eras past. Also, it sounds like this doesn't apply in your case but I could never get into the handheld ("Bedrock") version. If you haven't tried the full desktop version then give that a shot before giving up. (The java version works great on linux btw.) hth...1 point

Why is it that the boy characters seem to get less attention? There are a vast amount of highly developed male characters, yet it is not nearly as likely that you've heard of them referred to by any "dere" character type. Here is a list of the Dere character type definitions I've found on the web, and characters from some of my favorite anime to give you an example of what they can look like. Deredere: Sweet and energetic to seemingly everyone - Momiji Souma (Fruits Basket) Aladdin (Magi) Honey (Ouran High Schoo Host Club) TsunDere: Outwardly harsh, not tactful, and easily disliked, perhaps lacking charisma, however once you get to know them they are a teddy bear. Kyou Souma (Fruits Basket) Inosuke (Demon Slayer) Inuyasha Kuudere: Seems not to care what others think or do, cold and blunt. Internally they are caring and thoughtful. Kaede Rukawa (Slam Dunk) Yusuke Urameshi (Yuu Yuu Hakusho) Naofumi Iwatani (The Rising of the Shield Hero) Yandere: Sweet until someone else shows interest in their object of affection Zenitsu (Demon Slayer) Motoyasu (The Rising of the Shield Hero) Dandere: Calm and sweet, usually reserved in groups, but opens up in private. May be referred to as "shy" Ren Mihashi (Big Windup!) Makunouchi Ippo (Hajime no Ippo) Lets show these boys some love What personality types do your favorite characters fall under?1 point
