  1. So I don't start topics to often so thought it was about time. I have been watching a lot of animal programs lately at least when not watching anime. So thought why not talk about all our favorite aninals as well as animals we like. Feel free to share pics too. Let the cuteness flood in. For me I would have to say my favorite animal if I had to pick would be the African Elephant. They are very smart super emotional, and have families.

  2. The First manga I read was Battle Angel: Alita (Gunnm), and it is still my favorite to this day.

  3. It depends really. People buy both today, otherwise they wouldn't still make DVDs for 4 episodes. Some, like @The History Kid said, buy it for the aesthetics, though that isn't always the case either. For instance, my Tenchi VHS were very artful, though my Banner of the Stars individual DVDs (back then there was no complete collection option) had no artsy design when combined (albeit the coverart more than made up for it). Then, you look at Space Brothers and each season's complete collection combines to form a well planned image. I remember the FMA dvds had sn image when combined, though I gave mine away to a friend a long time ago. It all really depends on how much love and effort a company puts into the coverart. I personally prefer boxsets as they minimize the use of space for storage. I currently use two giant DVD caninents with sliding glass doors to store my anime collection in and that is an expensive investment to make. I tend to buy individual DVDs for anime that don't offer a boxset or are out of print with limited availability. Beggars can't be choosers after all.

  5. Do people still buy single volume DVDs of an anime series? Or do they prefer the complete collections that have less discs and take up less space?

  7. Do you remember any key words special to their world, or any character names at all? Or...um...any idea how he was dressed? Do you remember at all if it looked 80s or 90s, or was it more modern? I'm trying to see if I can find anything :3 I was finding characters with that description in Blue Exorcist, but I don't think it's what you're looking for since a school is involved.

  8. I have always preferred to buy anything in bulk or in its complete collection rather then individually. This includes DVDs I guess it just makes me feel more accomplished.

  11. I spent the evening attempting to get a private minecraft server + the RLCraft modpack running on my LAN. This stuff is definitely not ready for prime time. I grabbed the latest versions of forge and the rlc modpack, and added them to a freshly-(re)installed 1.12.2 MC server but ran into problems getting the server running. I finally got all the mods installed on the server side and the server staying up (with a LOT of warnings, though no exceptions), but now the client is throwing a fatal exception after connecting. Looks like maybe a version mismatch somewhere. I don't really have the time to debug, then track down and install exact versions, but maybe I'll take a closer look at the modpack web site's forums tomorrow.

  13. I remember seeing anime dvds in the 90s like 4 eps for $20. And I was like no one is going to buy this when they can go onlineand buy a whole series bootleg for the same price. Now though I can get whole seasons for 30-40 it depends on the series. Im guessing they found out people don't want to spend $20 for 4 eps anymore.

  14. Played dragon quest 8 on 3ds again, and more Mario maker 2. Might play last of us again and the DLC, the new trailer looks amazing.

  15. Most of the single volume DVDs pre-date the complete collections. When I first got into anime that was the norm.

  16. "Wattles" just started a RLCraft youtube series. Wattles who doesn't mod and has never tried the RLcraft modpack. I'm sure this will be gruesome.

  17. I only want the complete collection. I really don’t like that they market the single vol ones.. seems like such a waste to me.

  18. definitely complete collections. from the things I've bought they were much cheaper, and often came with some additional stuff and menu and whatnot. but often there aren't complete collections (at least for long running titles).
