I'm ashamed to say I haven't read much of anything this year due to lack of free time. Except maybe web pages. When I do have any time to spare my body says, "If you have time to read then you have time to sleep!"
I'm more into science fiction but if that's interesting then I can recommend pretty much anything by Niven, Heinlein, or Clarke. Iain M. Banks' "Culture" series is worth a read given what some people are naming barges these days. Consider Phlebas is first.
If you're into dystopian fiction you might try Brenner's "The Sheep Look Up". If you're looking for someth
