  1. This is a good thread, I would say the "Home Alone" series... Not the remakes, no - Home Alone 1-2 with Macaulay Culkin, THOSE are the ones that make me feel a good feeling. Mostly when Christmas rolls around, it's really nice to watch those two movies.

  2. It's been a good journey. Got a second job repairing instruments for the brass section of orchestra/bands. I do welding, soldering, dent-work and wash. Just until early Autumn. Currently sharing a station with three other amazing repair techs. I'll be moving into a new home soon too, possibly in the new year—early Spring. That way my mother can move in and I can take care of her better. There's two extra bedrooms for future planning. I'm in a good place to start a family and put down some roots. Looking forward to that particular chapter in life. Other than that it's been the usual. Hobbies, always learning and coming into new creative projects. Hope everyone has a fresh week ahead!

  4. What movies make you feel really good or nostalgic? For me, I love watching movies like "The Goonies" and "Stand By Me". I love the small towns in them, and it makes me think about childhood and actually playing outdoors with friends when I used to ride bikes, go on fun adventures and just generally be a kid and pretty much just care-free. I also love watching the movies "The Mummy" and "Jurassic Park". I was obsessed with both when I was younger and re-watching them just makes me feel good.

  5. Back in the day, many of the movie posters were done by the great Boris Vallejo and/or Julie Bell. Unbeknownst to many, they also did the box art of some famous video game titles as well. They followed the "Heavy Metal" trend in graphic art. They would eventually go on to be the ones to do the box art for "Eternal Champions" and "Golden Axe II" on the Sega Megadrive.

  10. Ohio is currently at its summer stage. So the weather is rainy, humid, and hot. The hottest days reach about 96 degrees, but it's only June, so i'm preparing for surprise heatwaves... It does get cool though, today it was about 69 (nice) degrees, which was nice. Still pool weather, so swimming was fun, although it was slightly chilly getting out of the pool. When it hits night time, the lowest is...a nice relaxing feel, of around the 50's mark. So a nice summer fire in the fire pit is a nice way to end the night. Also...it's currently tornado season - uh oh...

  11. Chicken and cheese on a torte bun and with a drop or three of Tapatío to make things interesting. And a couple apple cinnamon cookies with a cup of tea for dessert. (Once the Tapatío burn fades a bit.)

  13. I believe it is possible, but I'm pretty sure you'll need to be in artists alley to find manga artists that are there for business purposes.

  14. I just started watching "Clean Freak! Aoyama-kun". Only on the second episode, and the jury is still out on this one. I actually really like sports anime, even though I don't care for sports IRL, and Comedy is my favorite kind, but so far... there has been funny moments but nothing laugh out loud hilarious. I'll still give it a few episodes though. You aren't a loser! I personally gave up on Naruto, but I even get nostalgic sometimes and think about re-watching the first 100-130 eps or so of the first series. (I watched into the first 150 eps of Shippuden before I quit.)

  17. I am one the calmest people you'll ever meet. I've had customers nearly shout at me at work and I've kept my cool and never gotten angry. Put me in front of a video game however and you will see a side of me awaken that you couldn't believe existed. I don't what it is about those things but they bring something out of me lol.

  21. Me, too! I loved it when I was young! I remember searching for a hard copy of it for a long time, and finally finding it at like a Game Stop in a neon green VHS case XD Then finally it came out on DVD. I was stoked :3 There was so much thought put into the world, right down to the music! It's impressive how large of a world was created Such amazing work, and all hand made.

  25. The story is about a woman who discovers that she has supernatural abilities after kids in her city begin to go missing and must locate a book called The Ruthisian Codex to gain mastery over her powers and find the people responsible for the kidnappings. The lead character's name is Phia and the first chapter explores her seemingly normal life as a budding caterer. Throughout the book, I will describe certain dishes that she makes in detail and include the recipes at the back of the book. I may also include pictures but I'm not 100% certain yet. I'm also considering starting a Discord & hosting monthly virtual brunches where people can create their favorite foods from the book & we can all show our creations & hang out for a few hours. Making recipe videos for YouTube or live streaming myself preparing the dishes is also another idea I have. Phia's abilities and back story all center around Ancient Egyptian mythology and religion. Her love of cooking, her romantic interests, and some of her other hobbies are all tied into the Egyptian deities that she identifies with the most.

  26. There is always one anime that really stands out to you, that really makes a difference to you. There's always one show that you want everybody to watch and love just as much as you do (if not more). That show for me is Steins;Gate. I remember a few years ago, a friend recommended this show for me to watch. I was still relatively new to watching anime and my taste in shows was, what i would consider now, rather lame. Even then, I was mesmerized by this show. It dragged me in and completely hooked me from episode 1. Since then, I have watched this show countless and countless of times, it never losing its appeal. It still makes me cry, gives me goosebumps, and puts me on the edge of my seat. I catch new things I missed in previous watchings almost every time I rewatch it. I feel that Steins;Gate is so underappreciated and not nearly as popular as it should be. There must've been so much thought and time put into creating such a complete masterpiece. It really delves deep into topics not usually presented in anime and takes it above and beyond what I would have expected. Steins;Gate is originally a visual novel game that was later adapted into an anime. I didn't play the actual visual novel till years later after I had already rewatched the show a few times. The visual novel, obviously, is much more complex and explains things in a much deeper way. OKAY, so, you are all probably wondering.. "What is it even about Rini?" Well, don't worry! I will explain that now!! Steins;Gate takes place in Akihabara, Japan following the story of main character Okabe Rintaro (whom likes to be called "Hououin Kyouma!"). Okabe is a self proclaimed 'mad scientist' who runs his own lab with two friends Mayuri and Daru. There he creates tons of mostly useless experiments. One day, however, he accidentally steps into territory that should not be stepped in. He accidentally creates a time machine. Given the opportunity to stop research or continue, he continues. This glorious anime sheds light as to what the horrors of time travel would be and what it could lead to. It makes use of the Butterfly Effect, separate world lines, etc. As you follow Okabe through this intense story-line, you watch as he descends into TRUE madness (not his self proclaimed madness). I cannot stress enough how incredible of a show this is. It can be a tad slow at the start, but it really sets off around episode 12 or so and it's nonstop from that point on. I want more people to give this show the chance it deserves, as its just entirely underrated.

  27. For me a lot of the show’s appeal was it’s cast of characters you can’t help but grow attached to. I haven’t played the games, but am curious if you’ve seen the Steins Gate 0 anime or the movie (Load Region of Deja Vu) and if so what you thought of them. Also I understand the series Robitics Notes & Chaos Head take place in the same “universe”, though I haven’t watched either.
