I know a lot of people on this forum read manga so if like to ask why, you (yes, you) read manga. What is it about manga that you enjoy? Why choose it over the actual anime if there is one? Why would you ever prefer it solely over the anime? I also want to ask those who don’t read manga why at their reasoning for that is. I personally do not read manga. I would so much rather watch something animated, voiced, music playing, and just giving the immersion I don’t feel manga can give me. This isn’t mean to spark a debate on whether anime is better than manga. I am just curious as to why you do or don’t read it.

I was actually inspired to start this discussion after reading a thread on the WaniKani. The way people were talking there really reminded me of One Piece, especially the themes of personal growth and choosing your own path. It made me think about how strongly the idea of freedom is present from the very first episode, and that’s what pushed me to share my thoughts here.

I'm sorry I don't have an answer for you. However, I do follow the youtube "what's going on with shipping" channel. There's a community associated with that channel where someone might be able to give you an answer. Or you might want to contact Sal Mercogliano, the host of the channel, directly with the question. He mentions in his videos that he's on gmail and X (twitter). hth

I used to rely on Hianime and Animojo. Now Hianime is dead and Animojo doesn't upload ongoing anime anymore I had to switch to other sites. Still I use Animojo to download some anime since it has dual audio and small file sizes. Yeah privacy is always a risk. Not just with these sites, even some legit ones so just use a temp email and fake details

I spend a bit of time in Minecraft so I've occasionally run across a few 'tubies of Hololive members. Kaela and Moona are MC experts. Never trust Pekora. Kaela and Bijou seem to have a bit of a master/apprentice thing going on. I remember seeing one where Bijou was foraging through the Nether and Kaela was in chat saying things like "They [mobs] are not dangerous. You are the danger. Be the danger." And Bijou was doing it... even took a long fall into deep lava at one point but kept her wits and survived by using a heat resistance potion and tunneling out. Baelz, Gura/Sameko, and Fauna/Nimi I've also seen occasionally and have found entertaining. Fauna's world tree project was pretty awesome. I would have loved to see that in its full glory using something like the Distant Horizons mod. But I guess I don't have enough interest (or time) to honestly say I really follow any of them.

From North korea

Comics were my obsession in the 80s & 90s prior to being overtaken by anime. Primarily Spiderman & X-men titles, but also enjoyed alternative titles like Bone by Jeff Smith & Elfquest by Wendy & Richard Pini. Pretty much stopped following in the early 2000s though I still enjoy a lot of superhero & comic inspired movies & tv. And miss the days of hanging out with fellow “nerds” at comic shops & arcades.
