  1. I feel kind of stupid for liking someone again and then barely a week into it find out they are already cheating on me lollll... Also pretty hurt and I think I'm just feeling like I am totally and completely done with relationships for good.

  7. Hi. I'm a simple girl. I like cute girls. I like anime with a large cast of cute girls, bonus if they have magic powers. I love goblins. I love tribalism. Any work that has characters running around in a loincloth and shooting a bow has my immediate attention. I also like to write stories and fanfiction and I saw you guys had a writer's section. Figured this would be as good a place as any to get started. I don't do drama. I don't do politics. While I have a passing interest in Neo-Pagan and Wiccan beliefs, I don't believe in the supernatural. I just find the subjects fascinating. I look forward to talking to you all, and sharing my work!

  8. Why do people wear shamrocks on St. Patrick's Day? Regular rocks are too heavy. Why can't you borrow money from a leprechaun? Because they're always a little short.

  13. Saw at the cinema today Rascal Does Not Dream of a Sister Venturing Out - the 2nd sequel film to the Bunnygirl-senpai tv series, with the focus on Kaede’s struggle to overcome the extreme social anxiety which previously led to her living as a hikikomori for 2 years. Very emotional with a strong advocacy of alternative educational methods & learning/finding acceptance for being different (not “normal”). Rascal Does Not Dream of a Knapsack Kid - the 3rd film , focusing on an unexpected “complication” of the Azusagawa family trying to reconcile & overcome the mutual trauma that resulted in the parents & children living separately. Also greater focus on Sakuta & Mai’s deepening relationship as they get closer to leaving high school & becoming young adults. This one hit me on a much more personal level emotionally & actually made me tear up. Added to my list of all-time favorite anime movies. Both movies were very emotional, while also having the humorous (and in the case of Sakuta/Mai, flirtatious) verbal sparring the franchise is known for. I wasn’t initially a fan, but the deeper I get into it, the more appealing I find it. Definitely recommended for fans of Haruhi Suzimiya (personally I like it better). The one major complaint is that you need to have seen the previous material to keep up with the story. Which is further complicated by the fact that none of the movies are currently streaming legally in the US. This theatrical double feature was extremely limited (one day only for the sub version & dub version the next day only). And the blu ray of the first movie is priced at a premium. And it will only get more difficult for newcomers since the after credit scene revealed that a new animated entry has been green-lit (no word on if it will be a 4th movie or a 2nd season).

  18. That'd be so SWEET!!!! I'd be using it so much that I'd most likely forget what time it was while totally immersing myself in it. lol It's how I get with my games most of the time. XD I gift you a pot of cooked Corned Beef and Cabbage that my mom makes on Saint Patrick's day~ ^^ It's surprisingly good for cooking 2 things together in a pot. I wasn't too sure if it would be or not at first, but OMG I could eat it for breakfast, lunch, and dinner until there wasn't any left!

  20. Oh, I didn't think he did. That's comforting to know in that case. ^^ I agree. I always wanted to collect all seasons of the DBZ DVDs (the ones that people call "orange bricks"), but I was never able to get all of them. After Akira's tragic and untimely passing I bet everything Dragon Ball is going to sell for a premium now, so the chances of me ever completing my DBZ collection probably got drastically reduced. ;.; At least I've got all of the Z movies though~ ^^ I'll keep collecting the games though. The ones that don't require online playing, that is, due to our monthly data limit. >< Who's your favorite DB character?

  21. If they do, it will never as good or the same as the way Akira would have done it But yeah I was pretty shocked when I heard about this too.

  23. Thanks~ ^^ I got pretty sad when I found out Akira Toriyama passed away. He was planning on doing so much more with the franchise. There might be someone that will try to carry on his legacy, or maybe even a team of people to do it, but I'm not sure if anyone will be able to seamlessly resume his works.

  29. Hello everyone! Wow, well, I think this blog entry is very much overdue, I apologise greatly for not making a post sooner or ever making that post about the gear or training (if you're interested, feel free to DM me) So firstly thank you to everyone for the support! The goal was reached, and all the money was given to MRF!!!! (huge thank you to @Animedragonfor the donations) As for the journey, well, I'll do my best to talk about it while also keeping it short. I'm afraid I don't remember the dates or times, but I'll do my best! So firstly me and my fiancee did this together along with a group of around 25 other students from Ireland. We arrived at Dublin airport early, where we met the whole group for the first time (some of us had met at fundraisers but didn't get to know each other until that moment) From there we flew to Doha and then flew into Dar Es Salaam. After a 7-hour bus trip through Tanzania, we arrived at Moshi (a small town near the base of Kilimanjaro), where we would stay the night. Waking up early, we headed for Kili, this was a beautiful trip, and honestly, seeing Africa was just honestly one of the most beautiful things in the world, a real eye-opener. Arriving at Kili, we were greeted by some really adorable monkeys at the gate and had to wait a couple of hours for our gear to be unloaded and sorted among the porters. we took the Machame route which is a total of 7 days, 5 up, 2 down. We started day 1 through the rainforest which was definitely a very difficult day, we arrived at camp much later than expected and had to use our head torches (Machame Camp) Within the first day my fiancee became very sick but managed to push through day 2 towards Shira Camp, which I found quite a pleasant and beautiful walk. Shira Camp was definitely breathtaking. The next day was when the altitude started to get to me, we went up to the Lava Tower for lunch and back down to the Barranco Camp where we would stay the night before tackling the amazing Barranco wall. At this point I was getting sick and suffering from some crazy migraines. We woke up nice and early and did the Barranco wall which was for sure the best way to start the day, absolutely love climbing and scrambling up the wall! but I didn't expect the very long walk after towards Barafu camp. At Barafu camp we prepared to summit and left at around 1am at night if I remember correctly, this was the most painful and exhausting day of my life, our noses were pumping blood and our brains were foggy, I swear I sleep walked half of it, at every break you just wanted to close your eyes and give up, every step was heavy and painful and it just never ended, there was a sea of headlamps slowly making their way up the mountain and it was dreadful, but finally at around 7am we made it to the top!, at that moment all the pain just vanished, it was a fresh of life, we got our pictures and within 15 minutes were heading down. Now if you thought getting up there was hard, coming down was just as bad, it was like a slip and slide of ash! absolutely dreadful experience, me and my fiancee swore to each other that we wouldn't do something like it again (that's a lie now) but we did it, and we were exhausted. the two days down was dreadful but we were all looking forward to a shower and a cold Coca-Cola at the bottom, it kept our spirits up. And that's it in summary! Now I know there is so much more detail and trust me I will give it, so many stories to tell and so many pictures to share, but I will save that for the next blog post! I just felt I needed to share that it was completed. So next post I will share some photos (at least one from each day) and then also some stories and what happened after we got down! Buuuut I wanted to make this post because What's next? Well We are thinking either Machu Picchu or Mont Blanc!!!!!!! And this time I will do a way better job documenting them with videos!!!
    1 point
  30. Yeah I've heard that due to a lot of protests about the guides in Machu Picchu that it's gotten hard to get up and also the crazy weather. Unfortunely the same is happening with Mnt Blanc due to the changes in weather and terrain so before we know it, the mountain may no longer be climable

  32. I've just finished rewatching Higehiro. This is an excellent, and serious, story of a 17 year old girl who witnessed a tragic event at school that has a devastating effect on her and when she receives no support from mother, who is more concerned about the family's good name than the wellbeing of her daughter, she runs away from home. Eventually she ends up staying with a 26 year old man and as a result of the support she receives from him and a girl her own age that she meets while working at convenience store she realises that she can't keep running for ever and slowly gains the courage to return home and face the situation she ran away from.

  34. This is really odd, one is 3D and the other is 2D, completely different mediums... Maybe they just dump anything that isn't "live action" into the "cartoon" category, and consider it all the same?

  37. I've been working on a new project for Wolf's Rain. I've decided to make and use a set of Lord Darcia III from it. I've combined 2 different screenshots of him for the avatar and 2 different and bigger screenshots of Lord Darcia III from the anime for the signature. I wanted the border to be similar to blood, but when I tried dark red is when the middle of the text in the signature wasn't readable, so I settled on the closest color I could get to it. It's not exact, but the symbolism should still be implied. Avatar: Signature:

  43. Around here (Southern California) Asian food is second only to Mexican. Even the chain supermarkets sell sushi. I can get donburi in the cafeteria at work. There’s a pretty good sashimi restaurant named “Sakana” just a few blocks away from my house, and at least 4 Japanese-cuisine restaurants close enough to frequent on a regular basis. Yeah, I eat Japanese food.

  44. I’ll assume the role of Sofia. There can be many MCs who are our friends in this story. Write your own in! Or take up the part of the mysterious boy. Sofia: Age 15. Likes: Books, Ramen, Chocolate, Tea, Sports (though hasn't chosen a club this year) Dislikes: Loud noise, death Update: If everyone could please update their initial post with more about their character, that would be great. Doesnt have to be a lot. Whatever you want to add is fine! We can add as we go along in the story. There are some things that are nice to have as background knowledge though. So the more you add, the more we can do off hand.

  45. Everyone is a beginner at some point! Just remember that, and maybe you’ll feel less on the outside Would you like to design your own costume or buy a prefab one? One simple idea: Buy a tail and ears and go as a fox demon? This can be beautifully done and very light on your wallet. Here is a rather elaborate example But you could wear something cute that you already own with just an addition of your new fox ears and tail maybe @Beocat can give you some pointers too
