  1. This is the way I prefer to watch anime series as well, I don't have the patience to wait a week or so between episodes .
  2. OK, seeing as the Great Day has now dawned I will wish you a very Happy Birthday and hope you have a really great time celebrating your Special Day today.
  3. Yes, they're good. I really like the fractal background.
  4. Funny thing was that he was the quietest and most placid person in the department, except when it came to losing at chess or after having had too many pints at the pub on Friday lunchtime when he always picked a fight with the two largest guys, it never ended well! (no one actually got hurt or injured though, and it was fun to watch).
  5. Interesting to know it comes from a visual novel, but it doesn't surprise me that it does. The creators have done a good job of merging the various routes without it being too obvious.
  6. I've finished watching A Bridge To The Starry Sky. I found it a somewhat curious little series, the story revolves around two brothers who leave Tokyo to live in a small village in the country because the younger brother has health problems. The older brother makes quite a lot of friends at his new school, most of which are cute girls. But it's not really a 'cute girls doing cute things' series nor is it a 'harem' series as only three of the girls show any interest in the older brother, and rather than throwing themselves at him they do the exact opposite. The artwork and animation is good quality and with an interesting cast of main and supporting characters along with a good storyline I found that it made an enjoyable series to watch.
  7. I used to play chess when I was younger, it was very popular for a while where I worked, but I was never any good at it and almost always lost. It went out of fashion mainly because there was one guy who was a Seriously Bad Loser, he didn't just tip the board over when he lost he launched the board and all the pieces into orbit and their various re-entry trajectories scattered them all over the room!
  8. Don't worry about it. I'm slightly over twice your age and I've never kissed anyone outside of my immediate family and I'm not embarrassed or bothered by it.
  9. I guess they get away with providing a rubbish service and high prices because they have no competition in your area.
  10. How does a shepherd identify his sheep? He reads their Baa code !
  11. I feel your pain. My previous Internet account had a 20GB a month limit. I went over it once and my download speed was cut to a tenth of what it usually was, when I mentioned the drop in speed to my provider they said I had two options: 1. put up with the slow speed for the rest of the month, or 2. have my speed restored and pay extra for the data I downloaded. I went with 2 because I use my connection quite a lot and some of the things I use it for are important and I couldn't operate at the cut down speed.
  12. All this talk of board games reminds me of the times I and a group of my friends would gather at one of our houses to play board games. It would always be the day before a Bank Holiday and we'd meet up at about 8 or 9 pm and play until 2 or 3 am, which is why it had to be a day before a Bank Holiday. I've no idea now why we did this, but we were young(ish) and somehow playing board games until 2 or 3 in the morning seemed the right thing to do.
  13. Welcome aboard the good ship Anime Forum. Pull up a cushion, or a chair if sitting on the floor isn't your thing, and make yourself at home.
  14. That looks very promising, thanks for that information. Hopefully Crunchyroll will have both movies at some point in the not too distant future.
  15. Monopoly was at one time the game my family played when we all got together every Christmas. It was eventually banned because it caused too many heated arguments, especially when someone built hotels on Mayfair and Park Lane with the deliberate intention of bankrupting everyone else.
  16. If there was a way of doing it I'd happily send you some of our cold weather.
  17. The closest I've been to a forum without rules were Usenet News Groups. The majority of which have no moderators, and yes there were trolls, but curiously, at least in the groups I was in, the members had a common agreement on what was acceptable behaviour. Trolls, sock puppets and the like were quickly called out and the error of their ways explained to them, if they persisted everyone just ignored them and eventually they got bored and went away.
  18. Well said. That's the best way to honour the memory of a loved one. With that attitude your sister would be proud of you.
  19. This is so true. When a family member passes away you eventually get used to them not being there, but you never stop missing them.
