  1. Thank you. The bubbles are useful when the render doesn't have very much of the character in it. Yes, the background was done using a brush on a solid black black background. I often find that a solid colour looks too solid so adding a bit of texture with a brush helps to soften it up a bit.
  2. 3x3 Eyes was the first anime I watched and the first series I purchased on three VHS tapes, 28 years ago this month, so I just had to create a GFX piece for it.
  3. Today I didn't do very much, but I did make an effort to tidy up my bedroom and computer desk which was in danger of being swamped by the growing pile of papers. I also put away the last remaining items from my holiday last week.
  4. @Mur Mur The older gear is mostly a small portable PA system and some 35mm slide projectors and fade/dissolve controllers from way back when I did slide shows for photo clubs etc, I had to stop doing that due to the spiralling cost of 35mm transparency film. Sadly, no one would enjoy the music I'd make as I have no musical ability whatsoever! My gear now is still photography based but now I have a couple of DSLRs and assorted lenses and a couple of camcorders which I use to make videos, mostly but not entirely, featuring heritage steam trains
  5. What you say is true and makes a lot of sense. I've been retired now for several years and while I am a bit sad that I've never had a proper girlfriend and remain single and live alone, I have had, and still have, some good friends which I've spent, and still spend, good times with. I would have liked to have had a Special Person to share my life with but I've come to realise that being single isn't the end of the world.
  6. Wait, wait, I didn't even know buffalo had wings the thought of something the size of a buffalo flying is a bit worrying. I can't cope with anything spicy I'm sort of famous among my friends for having what they consider to be a very bland and boring taste in food
  7. @Mur Mur I had gear acquisition syndrome when I was younger so I have loads of fancy gear and loads of cables and connectors of all sorts, most of which I now have no use for, but there's no way I'm getting rid of it. I've largely recovered from the syndrome, but I do have the occasional relapse .
  8. Looks like a nice piece of kit, good make too. What problems are you having with it, or is it just that your problem is that you like buying new kit? I sometimes have that problem too.
  9. You have a girlfriend and you hold hands and hug, you're a fortunate person. I never got that far in school or out of it, no one wanted me as their boyfriend, and I don't see that changing now. I did go out with a girl twice, but neither occasion was really what you'd call a date and nothing came of the relationship. So I hope your relationship improves and you move on together.
  10. Like you I didn't like going to senior school, but unlike you I had very few friends and was the No.1 target for the school bully. Staying for a 5th year was optional so I took it because I wanted to take the exams and get some qualifications, but only one of my friends did the same, and he left halfway through when his family moved away. My exam results were mediocre which gave me the opportunity to turn down the offer of staying for the 6th year. Cherish those friends of yours they can make school bearable, being totally on your own at school is horrible.
  11. @Zeref it's a good thing @Sakura is coming home, you and @Sasuke are clearly not safe to be left on your own.
  12. Remember, remember the 5th of November. Gunpowder treason and plot !
So goes the well known rhyme, and today being the 5th of November we English people light bonfires and set off fireworks to mark the day the plot devised by Guy Fawkes and his fellow conspirators, some 400 years ago, to blow up the House of Lords and thus kill King James I and as many of the Lords as they could was discovered before it could be carried out.
It has now become a tradition for the Yeomen of the Guard to search the cellars under the Houses of Parliament before the State Opening of Parliament, although these days there are more serious anti-terrorist precautions in place.

US Election Day 2024 is on Guy Fawkes’ Day … maybe I should go back to bed.
