  1. The cost of sending packages can be surprisingly expensive, even sending packages within the UK can be quite high, and sometimes more that the cost of the item that's being sent.
  2. The lion was fairly common in coats of arms in the Middle Ages, it symbolised strength and courage. King Richard I was known as Richard the Lionheart. The lion was on the family crest of England's ruling family back in the 12th century so it soon became the national crest and has remained so ever since. We did have lions in England once upon a time, but there's none now (outside of zoos and safari parks that is)
  3. Both people having the same software package is the important part of course.
  4. I'll throw something in here. Back in March I was one of a group of people who arranged a performance by a professional dance company, but the point is that the dancers created a piece of contemporary dance based on their experiences in lockdown but since they couldn't meet in person they each worked on the theme in their own homes and shared their ideas via zoom and from that built up a compete production. So you could decide on a theme and both of you create a very basic outline piece of art and send it to the other person and go forward from there exchanging image files and discussing via e-mail, phone or even Zoom, if that was possible, ways in which to develop and build on each other's ideas to create something between you.
  5. I didn't get much sleep last night because it was too hot so I've been a bit shattered all day. I did drag myself out early morning to do some much needed shopping and am pleased I went out early as it's now seriously hot outside. I did manage to do a bit of laundry which will certainly dry quickly in this weather. Other than that I've spent the day doing lots of nothing at all.
  6. I'm glad we don't have tornados here, like you I wouldn't want one near the house! I went shopping early this morning, and am very glad I did because the temp has reached 31C which is too hot for my liking.
  7. The British Royal Coat of Arms is supported by a lion on one side and a unicorn on the other. They represent England and Scotland.
  8. Congratulations on getting your new job.
  9. Interesting, and a bit worrying.
  10. There's a clear blue sky and the sun is shining and it's hot, 29C hot and there's no breeze to cool things down a bit.
  11. The last time I watched a sunset was a couple of years ago while on holiday. I went down on the beach with my camera and watched and photographed as the sun slowly sank into the ocean. Standing on an empty beach with just the sound of the waves lapping against the sand as the daylight slowly disappeared was something special. Do you have a duvet on your bed or traditional sheets and blankets?
  12. The more @Sakura tells us about sharks, the more I realise what amazing creatures they are and how badly popular culture treats them.
  13. I've been rewatching Sound of the Sky. An excellent, highly enjoyable but sadly under appreciated and under rated series.
  14. Today the weatherman threatened rain, but he was wrong! It turned out to be a nice sunny and fairly warm day, but there was a slight chill in the wind when the sun went behind the clouds.
