  1. I'm fed up with this cold weather. I want to be able to get out and go places and do things.
  2. Yes, I know the anime has a different ending to the manga, but I prefer the anime ending.
  3. If the traffic cop asks why you've not got your lights on you just tell him that it's not raining in Sweden so therefore you don't need to have your lights on.
  4. The weatherman lied to me, he said it would be 4C today..... it's currently -1.4C
  5. Ouch! $1000 for a motherboard does sound expensive, and the sort of price tag that would have my wallet running away to hide.
  6. I know where you're coming from on this point, it's so easy to be put off a series by overenthusiastic fans. Quite often a series is really hyped up by it's fans and presented as the greatest anime every made, and when non-fans get to see it they often say, OK it's not bad, but it's not that great either.
  7. Fuuka (2017) This is a rather good little Slice of Life series, the main story of which revolves around Fuuka Akitsuki, a very active and enthusiastic outgoing girl, Yuu Haruna who is a shy introverted guy who spends most of his time using his mobile phone to post stuff on Twitter. Then there's Koyuki Hinahi who is a popular singer and also a childhood friend of Yuu, she is also Fuuka's favourite pop star. Yuu and Koyuki lost touch with each other years ago but when circumstances bring them together again life gets complicated as none of three can really work out their relationships with each other. The story is quite slow to start in the first few episodes but livens up considerably once Fuuka decides that she, Yuu and a couple of their other friends should form a band, and Fuuka being a very enthusiastic and determined young lady will accept no refusals or objections to her plan from her new band mates. Eventually the tangled relationships between Fuuka, Koyuki and Yuu come to a head and Yuu finds himself fighting for the very existence of the band. This is a interesting and enjoyable series and as the story progresses the various characters discover that what they want out of life is worth fighting for. 8/10
  8. I've started watching Laid Back Camp. And it's just that, very laid back, in fact it's so laid back it's horizontal. It's basically a Slice of Life - Cute Girls Doing Cute Things series and the cute things the cute girls are doing is camping. While it's a simple story the antics of the girls are great fun to watch.

  10. 441 We're past the quarter mile post now.
  11. The cold weather has returned . It's currently 4C and likely to be -7C tonight and according to the weather forecasts were unlikely to see anything above 5C this week.
  12. The closing months of 2022 saw a couple of important changes in my anime watching. Firstly I upgraded my Internet connection to a service a good deal faster than I previously had and second, as a result of the first, I took out a subscription to Crunchyroll. This allowed me to watch anime series the in the year they came out rather than a few years later when someone got around to releasing them on DVD/Blu-ray. As a result of my 'late start' on 2022 anime I've so far only watched three series (in no particular order): My Dress Up Darling: This was much more interesting and entertaining than I thought it would be and I was pleased that it wasn't as ecchi as some YouTube clips made it out to be, but having said that there were a few scenes in it that I wouldn't want to watch with anyone else. Akebi's Sailor Uniform: I really enjoyed watching this one. It's a simple Slice of Life with no real dramas, it's just a simple story of a young girl attending middle school proudly wearing her new uniform and making new friends, and that's really where its charm is. Lycoris Recoil: An all action Girl's With Guns series, and some of the girls are cute. This one was great fun to watch with loads of action, major firefights, furious combat duels, crazy humour, mad hackers and a touch of serious drama thrown in for good measure. What's not to like?
  13. It should be a fairly easy fix if it's a standard case fan, which will probably just need replacing with a new one. If it's the PSU fan you can't fix it 'cos the PSU is riveted together and opening the PSU is not a good idea.
  14. They're grey squirrels, which explains a lot.
  15. Secret Squirrel Is In Scotland KMTPR
  16. They miscounted slightly and have more men than they thought, so they've actually got 430 But that one man just might make a difference.
  17. Orange (2016) What would you think if one day you received a letter from yourself that was written ten years in the future? You'd probably dismiss it as some kind of joke, which is what Naho Takamiya did when she received such a letter. The letter asked her to keep a close watch on a new student and be careful about decisions she makes concerning him. But the letter is written like pages from her diary and as the days pass she comes to realise that it is describing the events that will happen each day very accurately, too accurately in fact. The letter goes on to explain that of her five friends Kakeru Naruse, the new student, is not around ten years in the future because he died in an accident and the letter is a plea from her future self to prevent the accident. As the story progresses we learn through a series of flashbacks, or rather flashforwards, of the truth behind Kakuru's death and the effect it has on the surviving members of the group of friends and his family. The story follows the efforts Naho and her friends go through in their attempt to save Kakuru's life. If you leave aside the fact that the series never really explains exactly how the letters were delivered to a precise point ten years in the past to the correct person it's an intriguing and interesting storyline. The series has a good cast of characters and the animation and artwork is very good. However, while it was an enjoyable series to watch I felt that the ending was rather disappointing and unsatisfactory with a thread that had been running throughout the story left hanging and unfinished. 7/10
  18. I've now finished watching "Fuuka". I really enjoyed watching this series, although I thought the story took a while to get started, but once it had it moved along at a good pace.
  19. This morning it was a bit overcast and cold with a fairly strong cold wind, this afternoon it's still cold but it's also raining. So I'm glad I went out to do my shopping this morning.
  20. Thanks for that opinion, perhaps I'll give the series another watch and see if my view of it has changed over the years.
