  1. Welcome aboard the forum pull up a cushion, or a chair if sitting on the floor isn't your thing, and make yourself at home.
  2. I see that Crunchyroll have put up their first listing of new series for 2024. Not a lot there to interest me, but I'm pleased to see Bottom-Tier Character Tomozaki - Series 2 in the list. I'll also give A Sign of Affection a look as the storyline looks interesting. Both are currently airing, so I'll follow my usual practice and wait until they finish airing so I can mini-binge them without having to wait a week or so between episodes.
  3. Some good recommendations already, and I'd like to add: A Place Further Than the Universe Hyouka Charlotte Laid Back Camp
  4. This is a very good New Year Resolution. I've known too many people who have been totally stressed out by trying to live up to the standards set up for them by their parents and other people.
  5. I've just finished watching Shy, from the trailers I wasn't expecting much but thought I'd give it a try anyway and found that the trailers do the series no favours, it has quite a decent story and I found it an enjoyable series to watch.

  7. My favourite board game is called "1829" it's played on a map of England and Wales which is printed up with a hexagonal grid. The object of the game is to buy and build your railway, you do this by buying shares in a company and when you become the majority shareholder you can lay track and buy trains, the track sections are on hexagonal tiles which you place on the map. When you run a train you have to decide how to take the revenue it earns, you can either declare a dividend which means that you and every other player who has shares in the railway company gets paid, or you can take the revenue in company credit which you can use to buy more trains. If you declare a dividend the share price goes up, if you take company credit the share price goes down. The winner is the person with the most money at the end of the game, which happens when the bank runs out of money. But it's not that simple to work out because your money total is calculated by how much cash you have plus the current value of all the shares you own. Company credits are worthless and don't count. The rules are quite complicated and the game can last anything up to eight hours. I haven't played it for years because I can't find anyone mad enough to spend eight hours playing a board game!!
  8. It's always hard being the new person at a workplace, you get given all the grotty jobs that no one else wants to do, and because you're new you don't have the skills your coworkers have. The trick is to treat everyday as a learning day and also look beyond your workplace, use the Internet to find information about your job read up about products and procedures that way you'll build up a solid base of knowledge that over time your managers and coworkers will come to recognise and appreciate. But do not flaunt your knowledge, that's the best way to annoy people! Just get on with things and apply your skills quietly. Final tip: If you're offered any training courses, grab them with both hands especially if the company is offering them for free.
  9. I wish you a Very Happy Birthday and hope you have a very enjoyable day.
  10. Being a White Collar isn't all it's cracked up to be. I wanted to be one, but maths and me are not good friends, so I ended up as a Blue Collar and over the course of my career I met lots of White Collars and most were stressed over deadlines and high workloads. One Senior White Collar even told me he envied my job because I had all the fun. He wasn't entirely right, work in an on-site repro unit could be hard but I enjoyed my job and yes, I had a lot of fun doing it.
