Today I finished watching Rascal Does Not Dream of Bunny Girl Senpai. With a title like that I wasn't sure what I would be getting, and what I got was a highly watchable and enjoyable series. The individual story arcs were, well, a bit weird, and while there was a a touch of humour in them the incidents were all treated in a serious way, which was an approach I liked. Out of all the story arcs I thought Kaede's was the most hard hitting and Sakuta's reactions when he realised he'd 'lost' the sister he'd known for the past two years were really well handled and presented.

Today I started watching Rascal Does Not Dream of Bunny Girl Senpai. It seems a curious title for an unusual series and I'm not quite sure what to make of it, but the artwork and animation are good and I suppose there's not many series that mention Laplace's Demon and Schrodinger's cat. It'll be interesting to see how the story plays out.

I enjoyed Weathering With You as well and I've watched it several times. But I still feel that the whole sub-plot with the police was really a bit of filler and that the film would have been better and the storyline stronger without it.

Thinking about surprising hits, the series that surprised me most was Chihayafuru. I didn't think that a series about a group of people playing a card game would hold my interest for much more than 12 episodes, and it didn't, it held my interest for a whole 74 episodes and I would have happily watched more.

Somehow I have a feeling that if any aliens had received any of our TV and radio broadcasts the amount of coverage of wars, natural disasters, riots and civil unrest would suggest to them that our planet is one to avoid.

I've decided that recently I've seen too many high school slice of life series, so I'm now watching Gunslinger Girl.

Hello Confused. I'm Puzzled.

Like you I find that many of the popular anime series from 90's and very early 2000's have not stood the test of time well and look quite bad compared to today's anime. As for suggested anime to watch you might like to take a look at Gunslinger Girl and Noir, both are a couple of years the wrong side of your watershed, but they're good stories and well animated.

Here's a few for you to consider: Princess Mononoke, BareFoot Gen, The Place Promised in our Early Days, Your Name.

For me my choice of best duo would be Miyuki and Natsumi the two policewomen from You're Under Arrest.

For me it has to be the death of Nagisa Okazaki (nee Furukawa) in Clannad After Story. I've seen that episode several times, but I still have a wet handkerchief every time I watch it.
