About Me

I first got into anime due to being chronically ill. I was looking for something interesting to watch to help me enjoy the times I'm stuck in bed, especially since it was around the holidays and I felt as if I was missing out. I tried Eureka Seven but didn't get too into it, and then tried RUBY, but I really hate the art in that (sorry!). And yeah, I know RUBY isn't Japanese.
After that, I found Sword Art Online. I was hooked so fast. I loved everything about it, the storyline, the characters, the themes. I especially got emotionally invested into season two due to Sinon's PTSD and Yuuki's illness, both of which are very personal to me.
During a move I was without internet for four months, which really set off my depression I had already been struggling with. Once I got internet back I dove back into anime and it really helped me cope. When I usually felt so numb the anime helped me experience more emotions. When the emotions I did usually experience were negative anime helped me feel happy and the power of friendship and hard work.
For me anime is something deeply personal. It has helped me get through the dark times, and even though my depression is better now it still helps me through the bad days, it still inspires me.

During the first couple months I dove into anime after the move I even made myself an SAO birthday cake after getting two of my sisters hooked on the series. It didn't turn out as well as I would have liked, but it was so much fun! It was a watercolor style fondant cake. The sword in the top didn't turn out well, I really wish I had a 3D-printer to make them with.

I talk about my family a lot. I have two parents and three sisters. I'll refer to my sisters by their personality types. ISFP, INTJ, and ENFP. We are all affected by the same genetic condition, but it can affect us in different ways. (I'm an INFP)
