I'm feeling pretty chill. Between volunteering and going to my part-time job, I've been hanging out with my friends a lot. Yesterday, while eating taco bell with my friend, I told him that it took me like four years of high school to learn how to properly socialize. He agreed, and it was nice to hear how he also struggled during freshman year coming right out of covid. It was funny though, because we did an instagram challege called the uc mind ice bucket challenge in the taco bell parking lot. So, I just went in to get a baja blast with a towel on. Then we picked up my friend and we saw the movie sinner. It was good and really fun

Exactly, I've had to take a couple of breaks, but I always come back with more skills to help cope. I'm still learning and trying, and I agree thats the most important thing. So I'm glad you're taking care of yourself and doing what you can. Also, happy easter if you celebrate!( ‾́ ◡ ‾́ )

I also struggle with those problems. Thanks to my family I've nearly made a full recovery. Just from little that I've talked about, you're strong and I know you can make it thru this!

Good to hear people are enjoying spring so far. My friend was facing a problem, since middle school she's stopped enjoying art. We still draw together in our AP art class as friend group. But my plan was to bring up her roots. So I started drawing a random character, and told her to make an oc. That way our characters can be friends. She said it felt cringe, but its almost been a week and my friend group class are super into these characters we've made up. There's two couples in our fictional world and we were goofing off not doing our projects in class today, and instead making character sheets. I felt really happy because at the end she said it single-handedly ending her like three year art block. Sometime this weekend we're gonna go to her house and draw more character sheets and maybe even a comic. I'm pretty excited.

Had a fun day. I just got a part-time job, so I went to the onboarding this afternoon. After I went and got grounds coffee with my friend, and in America it's a popular thing. They make these huge 64 ounce energy drink soda's with glitter, whip cream, and candy. I got the 24 ounce dragonfruit mango creamsicle with sprite instead of red bull. It was so yummyyyy (ᗒ⩊ᗕ) It was a nice sunny day, so we walked around with the drinks. At my house we finished season two of Dungeon Meshi. It was super good and totally recommend the anime!

I've drawn some manga in japanese, and I'm drawing an english comic for my ap art class. My advice would be to manipulate the use of black and white. In manga, screen tone, brush pens, and g-pen, spoon-pen, or maru-pen are commonly used. G-pen in shounen, and maru-pen in Shoujou. In art, the eye gravitates to white, so if you put black in the right places you can easily control the reader's eye. Moreover, the flow is dictated by whether its an eastern or western comic. In manga, it is read vertically, right to left, and top to bottom. In western its the opposite. So be sure to keep that in mind.

For the past two weeks I've been hanging out with a Japanese student. She's from Hyogo prefecture, so I got to learn some Kansai dialect slang. A few are honmani which is an adjective meaning very. So, honmani acchi means very hot. Acchi is short for atsui meaning hot. There's also egui which has the same meaning as yabai. They both are said in response to something very bad or good. The boys also kept trying to get me to say erotic phrases, but the only one I repeated was maji de kusa. So basically, you're shit! It's crazy how many times I've said kusa in the past few weeks. My friends and I sent off the six japanese students earlier today, there were a lot of tears because of how close we had become. Everyday after school we were going to clubs, starbucks, playing soccer, going to the movies, concerts and a lot more. All of the 4 boys on the trip are in their school's soccer club, so playing soccer was super fun. We called it bluelock practice. As a group we went to the city a bunch, and just with my student and family as well. Some of my favorite memories were being squished into my friend's car. Going home from the gym, we may have fit more than legally allowed, but it was a bunch of fun. The other day we went to see Princess Monoke remastered in theaters, and they were so surprised that it was in Japanese. We took a photo in a photo booth, which is similar to the Japanese Purikara. Except purikara is much more kawaii. One of the girls on the trip, the best friend of the student I hosted, is a mind gyal. So her attitude is gyal, but looks not much. When I wore my makeup, my student said it looked like heisei gyaru. Which is the older style in general terms. To put it concisely, I had a ton of fun, practiced my japanese speaking for my AP exam, and made new friends. I'm really grateful for my dad, even though we don't have a ton of money at the moment, he still set aside a budget so that I could have fun with my host student. In his words, he still wanted me to experience Japan in some way. My high school and their high school have an exchange program. Last summer, I was supposed to go to Japan and attend their school, but I got really sick. Even though I discharged before the departure, I wasn't recommended to travel. Since then, I've worked so hard to stay healthy. I've had all A's in every single quarter this year. I wake up at five to go to the gym and do cardio after school. And work with my care team so that I can be stable. I'm so glad that I was able to enjoy this experience without breaking down. Now, my confidence is really high, better than ever. And I think I'll be okay. If it wasn't for my family or friends, I wouldn't be able to do all these fun things. So I'm really happy. Thanks for reading:)

Hello! I've talked a bunch about drawing manga in my blog, so I thought I'd post some of my art here! Some of it is recent, some I did like two years ago lol I drew this on a whim, I rlly like the designs. So maybe I'll make a short comic about them. The two girls are Etsuko on the left, and Emu on the right. They're apart of a page I made while I went to a manga school in Japan. This is the comic I drew of them there. It roughly translates to: la la la Is there a baby singing? Who're you? Staring Huh? Who're you?! I'm really into Lolita fashion, so I drew this random doll from pinterest. Inspired by a house that would be in Emu and Etsuko's forest world. Another lolita. This time the dress is actually from a collection Strawberry girl and how she grew up basically. I used screentone for this. I use it for most of my comics. I've been getting into watercolor recently, so yeah another lolita dress.
