As far as tattoos go...I just have one question: "Would you put a bumper sticker on a Rolls-Royce?"
I wouldn't....and that's why I don't have tattoos.
As for piercings.....NOBODY is punching a hole in my body.

I've started replaying Symphonic Rain and I'm still absolutely captivated by it. Easily the best VN on the planet. It's on the same level as Key's VNs for me....and that's saying something.

Riki was a child when his parents died, leaving him hopeless and depressed. What saved him was a group of four kids calling themselves the Little Busters. They took Riki out and played with him during his time of need. He really enjoyed being together with them, and his grief gradually faded away. Now in his second year of high school they still hang out, fight and live together, and enjoy their school life.
The version of Little Busters on Steam includes routes for Saya, Kanata and Sasami (I think that's how you spell her name....xD ask Rin for details xD) All three are fantastic additions to the already fantastic routes in Little Busters. Note that those three routes I listed can only be played after the completion of Refrain.

Okazaki Tomoya is a third year high school student at Hikarizaka Private High School, leading a life full of resentment. His mother passed away in a car accident when he was young, leading his father, Naoyuki, to resort to alcohol and gambling to cope. This resulted in constant fights between the two until Naoyuki dislocated Tomoya’s shoulder. Unable to play on his basketball team, Tomoya began to distance himself from other people. Ever since he has had a distant relationship with his father, naturally becoming a delinquent over time.
While on a walk to school, Tomoya meets a strange girl named Furukawa Nagisa, questioning if she likes the school at all. He finds himself helping her, and as time goes by, Tomoya finds his life heading towards a new direction.Clannad...oh Clannad...such an amazing story that I love so freaking much! It's perfect beyond all means!

Quote"Why don't you come to the planetarium?
The beautiful twinkling of eternity that will never fade, no matter what.
All the stars in the sky are waiting for you."
It is thirty years after the failure of the Space Colonization Program.
Humanity is nearly extinct. A perpetual and deadly Rain falls on the Earth.
Men known as "Junkers" plunder goods and artifacts from the ruins of civilization.
One such Junker sneaks alone into the most dangerous of all ruins -- a "Sarcophagus City".
In the center of this dead city, he discovers a pre-War planetarium.
And as he enters he is greeted by Hoshino Yumemi, a companion robot.
Without a single shred of doubt, she assumes he is the first customer she's had in 30 years.
She attempts to show him the stars at once, but the planetarium projector is broken.
Unable to make heads or tails of her conversation, he ends up agreeing to try and repair the projector...It's a Kinetic Novel made by Key therefore it's fantastic!
@Optic, if I recall correctly, this is like the only VN you've read right?

If it counts as a VN in your eyes, then the DanganRonpa franchise.
DanganRonpa is definitely a VN.
12 hours ago, Decimo said:My first pure Visual Novel was Steins;Gate.
Haven't actually read the VN for Steins;Gate yet but I love the anime. I may get it on Switch.
12 hours ago, Decimo said:Rewrite was my second I believe, great VN btw.
Have you read any of Key's other VNs? Kanon, Air, Clannad, Little Busters, Harmonia or Planetarian? (I've read all the ones I've listed except for Air which I'm hoping will be released on Steam in the future)

For the record, I only play All-ages Visual Novels. Don't need any of that hentai messing up my glorious VNs.

My number 1 would have to be Slayers, but if we can add a top 5 the rest would be: Princess Mononoke, Project A-KO, Robot Carnival and Panty/Stocking
That's a nice list. Sadly I haven't watched any of those yet. Maybe in the future I'll have time to watch them. Mine include the anime with a score of 10 on this list:https://anilist.co/user/Ryuji123/animelist
2 hours ago, Yasu_Takagi said:That's difficult, I really love everything, from shoujo themes and romance to violent, dark stories. I'll say Shonen for the action.
You had me at romance and lost me at violent, dark stories xP Shonen is pretty good. Romance is my favorite.
2 hours ago, Yasu_Takagi said:Berserk. Other honorable mentions: Lone Wolf & Cub, Love Hina and Nana.
Nice! My favorite is ReLIFE.
2 hours ago, Yasu_Takagi said:I have read some, but I'm not super knowledgeable in that area. I'd like to learn more though!
You're in the right place then. I freaking love Visual Novels more than anime/manga combined. Btw, are you on Steam? Steam has a lot of good Visual Novels that go on sale.
2 hours ago, Yasu_Takagi said:Does Katawa Shoujo count? I know it was a fan made game, but I can relate to having a similar disease/handicap since I was a child and I enjoyed the characters.
Yep! I haven't gotten around to reading it yet but it definitely counts as a Visual Novel. My personal favorite is Symphonic Rain. It's amazing and the music is FANTASTIC FANTASTIC FANTASTIC!!! Like seriously, I'm always humming the music from this masterpiece of a Visual Novel. @drill will tell you

If you spend enough time talking to me, you'll learn just how truly crazy I am xP xP
2 hours ago, Yasu_Takagi said:I do, but I was never that good at it (or didn't take it seriously) back in school. I try to learn more now though!
Nice! I'm happy to hear you don't hate math like the majority of the planet xP Math is one of my passions. The other is Computer Science which I am majoring in with a minor in math. In fact, I'm taking Differential Equations this semester just for fun (needed another math elective) It's hard but awesome!

Hello!
I'm 24.
AF is generally a pretty friendly place. If people are mean to you just let someone know and the issue will be resolved. It's not really a common issue here though.
Now onto the interrogation.
1) Favorite anime?
2) Favorite genre of anime?
3) Favorite manga?
4) Do you read Visual Novels?
5) If the answer to number 4 is yes, what's your favorite Visual Novel?
6) If the answer to number 4 is no, why not?
7) Is Ryu crazy? (The answer is yes)
9) Do you like math?
10) Did you notice I skipped #8?

Those dang moving blocks. Either the purple water drowns me because I can't get up there fast enough or the blocks squash me. I'm still stuck on it. Have been for a over a week now.
You just have to time your jumps just right. Like when you're as high as that block goes, you're going to want to jump up as soon as it starts to move so you can get above the next blocks without them squishing you.
Anyways, I've made it to Zone 10.

I can't get passed chemical Plant Zone Act 1!

That is an annoying zone. What part can't you get past?
I played the original so I had a pretty good idea of how to complete that zone. Of course some things were changed.
I'm currently on Zone 5. So much fun!

So I got a Nintendo Switch for my birthday (7/26)
I also received Sonic Mania Plus! IT'S SO FREAKING NOSTOLGIC!!!!
Yet at the same time, it's so fresh with tons of references to other Sonic games. I FREAKING LOVE THE BOSS OF THE CHEMICAL PLANT ZONE ACT 2! Of course I was a huge fan of the game that it referenced.
I've also played some of the demo for Octopath Traveler. I ABSOLUTELY LOVE IT!!! The demo only lets you play for 3 hours though
The content in the demo is perfect though.
Such a beautiful game!!!

It just does seem to come up a lot. I do not care too much either way, but dubs actually have two advantages for me, which are:
1. Easier to watch while experiencing a headache
2. Easier to follow.
While many in the community tend to prefer subs, there are issues subs have that dubs do not, which all have to do with how easy they are to read, hence why they can be harder to follow along with, which is mainly font size and color contrast. I have encountered subs that were hard to read because they were too small and even subs that were hard to read, because they do not contrast well with what is on screen, so I spend more time trying to determine what is being said than actually witnessing what was going on.
Valid point. My problem with dubs is that a good many of them have awful voices for the characters. Have you ever tried to watch The Melancholy of Haruhi dubbed? The characters sound so bad I want to cut my ears off.
