Somehow nobody mentioned Tasogare Otome x Amnesia. Great supernatural romance that goes to its manga ending. Edit: ah that's why. Human girl. Damn.

Not bad, not bad. 7/10 3-gatsu no Lion - June 8th -
Branching off of twig's second point, and partly the first, here's more or less what the guy wanted us to recommend to him: "I want an anime from 2014 with a cool OP male MC, romance, harem, action, adventure, superpowers, swords, ecchi, and no cliffhanger." We proceeded to poke fun at him until he left.

I have a few for ya ef: a tale of memories. (Absolutely amazing drama romance. Has some of the best writing I've seen, and the symbolism goes all the way down to the art direction because it's what Studio SHAFT is good at. Ignore its second season, ef: a tale of melodies. It was entirely optional, and really just kinda meh.) Grimgar of Fantasy and Ash (It's like if Danmachi wasn't crap. Don't get me started on that one, Danmachi is my least favourite anime lol. But Grimgar delivers all around, with a realistic fantasy world with a heavy focus on teamwork to survive rather than just relying on the OP main character.) The Beheading Cycle (Also known as Kubikiri Cycle, or Zaregoto. A brilliant mystery anime, has never been topped for me in the genre. And it did it in only 8 episodes, because that's all it needed. The best part is, you can absolutely figure out the mystery far earlier than the characters do. But I assure you, you won't.) If you would like more, do tell, I have plenty to go through, and if you have any questions about the ones listed, ask away

Anime Database Request This thread is where you can request anime to be added to the AF Anime Database! Prior to now, the general public was allowed to add anime, however this was rather messy when it comes to duplicate posts and general quality control! As such, after checking the database first, you may simply request to have an anime added via this thread, and an Anime Curator will get to it!

Nearly forgot. Not canon, but I don't care, it's applicable. Yukine Chris in her pirate gear. As for the sneaky and charming things mentioned for female pirates up there, I'd like to mention that that doesn't always apply. Chris here is far from seductive and would sooner shoot something dead in the face than win it over with her charm. She has also literally surfed on missiles and actively uses gunkata and quad miniguns to rek whatever needs to be blown up, so sneaky is absolutely out of the question lol.

Totally separate note though, this PV for a new anime from the Shirobako people just dropped, and hoo boy, that's some lovely CGI.

I don't have much knowledge on anime pirates, however I do know of one. Lalaco Godspeed And if everything about this chick isn't the coolest damn thing, I dunno what is. From Space Patrol Luluco, an anime made by Trigger, she's the studio's massive reference to both Kill la Kill and Gurren Lagann, and I think they got the point across nicely.

I object! Obviously depends on the quality, of course.

Nice song, very calm, soothing, all that. 8/10 Kazanari Tsubasa - A Beautiful Blade in the Moonlight -
I mean I might give out longer ones but not guaranteed or anything. Here goes. YOU HAVE BEEN DOOMED TO WATCH: Kyousou Giga (The 10 episode version, and just the 10 episode version. Skip all the OVAs and episode 0, it's an OVA that gets put there for some reason, and spoils the show really badly. You have 10 hours to complete it.)

Ah, nearly forgot. Haven't seen this myself, but I've heard nothing but praise. Doukyuusei Has a ridiculously good MAL score of 8.4

I foolishly have no fear. · What Influence do Anime and manga have on technology/media nowadays? (cell phones, computer, etc.) It's creeping its way into western culture rather strongly as of late. As for how it exactly affects things, I dunno. General themes in western media perhaps? · How would you describe yourself fandom wise? I recommend a ton of anime, and have for years, it's kinda what keeps me going · What’s a brief summary of your daily routine? Nothing that matters in relation to this questionnaire asides from me sitting down around dinner and any time onwards to watch some anime. · what do you usually buy? Nothing anime related. · Describe your friend group along with where and how do you interact with them They know me as the resident superweeb of the group, but as I'm not weird or obsessive about it, they don't mind in the slightest. We mostly just play videogames or go grab food together, fairly average stuff. · What are your favorite possessions? Other favorites like mangas? My laptop is pretty cool. · Does your hobby/passion affect your school and/or work situation and attitudes? Anime gives me a pretty interesting outlook on film and whatnot. ·Where're some places you go to meet up with people that are into anime? I don't. · What are your top 3 animes? Senki Zesshou Symphogear Gurren Lagann Kill la Kill · What are the classics you can’t beat? But I've beaten the classics. · Which do you prefer anime or manga? Anime · What Got You Interested In Anime? Completely random occurrence whilst looking at Crackle. · Which Anime Series Would You Most Recommend? Senki Zesshou Symphogear. Season 1 is meh, but get to season 2 by any means because it, season 3, and season 4, are friggin awesome. · What Was the First Anime You Ever Watched? Occult Academy · What Can Be Found In Anime That You Can't Get from Cartoons? Nothing, technically. Western animation tends to lean towards episodic comedies more than story-driven plots, but that isn't written in stone. Japanese animation tends to lean towards story-driven plots, but they also have plenty of episodic comedies. -
I suppose. Sandbox Mode: No stars at all, can't lose anything, no strings attached, NOTHING. Just free recommendations. Regular Mode: You get a show and you have to watch the first 5 episodes before you're allowed to drop it. You'll earn/lose 1 star per chunk of 15 episodes. (1 star for 1 to 15 episodes, 2 stars for 16 to 30 episodes, and so on) Dropping it won't earn you stars. Hardcore Mode: You can't drop the show given in this mode, and you must supply a MINIMUM 250 word review, just DM it to me or whatever. You'll earn/lose 2 stars per chunk of 15 episodes. Insane Mode: You can't drop the show given in this mode, and you only have as many hours as there are episodes to complete it. 12 episodes = 12 hours, and so on. You also must DM me an "impressive" review of an undefined length. Best do your best to make it nice. You gain/lose 4 stars per chunk of 15 episodes, but if you fail, you'll have a penalty put onto your next challenge. This penalty lowers the amount of stars you'd earn by one challenge level. Hardcore would get regular stars, for example. Failing a penalty challenge won't remove the penalty.
-
TLDR: Ask for a challenge out of regular, hardcore, insane, or sandbox, and you get a random anime from me. Depending on the mode you get more or less stars upon completion of the anime, and if you fail the challenge you lose an equal amount of stars that you would have earned. Positive stars = Your name on the awesome list with your star count next to your name, the opposite is true for the naughty list and negative stars. Easy XD Obviously, there's details in the actual post.
