  2. https://www.animenewsnetwork.com/news/2020-10-21/crunchyroll-streams-dr-stone-jump-special-anime-festa-video-on-youtube/.165451 Most of it is just a recap of season 1, but there’s a new bit with Homura at the end. Season 2 is scheduled for January.
  3. Kuma Kuma Kuma Bear episode 3 - wasn’t a fan initially but it’s growing on me. Yuna is OP like Maple (Bofuri) but not sweet like her This week’s ep gets bonus points for paying homage to the classic duck/rabbit season gag. And I’ve already seen some Goblin Slayer memes referencing this episode
  4. I subscribe year round to Crunchyroll & Funimation for most of my anime viewing, but Netflix about 1 out of 3 months. They do have some good exclusives though (hoping Dorohedoro gets another season)
  5. Added to my plan to watch list, but no clue when I’ll get around to it as I tend to only subscribe to Netflix intermittently (wait for a several series I want to watch to accumulate & then binge them).
  6. “I was with my first love the whole time, and I just hadn’t realized it.” - - Yota Narukami (The Day I Became a God)
  7. Welcome to the forums, hope you enjoy it here Shonen is the genre that is usually most accessible to new fans. Some recommendations: My Hero Academia; Demon Slayer (Kimetsu no Yaiba); Jujutsu Kaisen (just started airing); Ushio & Tora; Buso Renkin. I’ll also recommend some seinen titles, which tend to be more complex storywise & characterizations: Vinland Saga; Dororo; Cowboy Bebop. If you’re curious to explore some other genres let me know.
  8. Started raining steadily last night & not supposed to stop until sometime tomorrow morning At least the temps aren’t bad (mid 50s)
  9. Since the link I previously posted is apparently broken

  11. Looks like it’s getting a 2nd season https://www.animenewsnetwork.com/news/2020-10-17/science-fell-in-love-so-i-tried-to-prove-it-anime-gets-2nd-season/.165317 While I’m not sure it really needs one, it’s one of my favorite romcoms & one of the better anime of 2020, so I’m definitely checking it out (though sensei’s manservice in the one promo pic is a bit much )
  12. Pretty much this. I feel like there is enough variety in anime that anyone can find something they enjoy, provided they can get past the “cartoons are for kids” stigma. If a person only likes shonen or the hyped series it’s ok, but I feel like it contributes to the stereotype of “I tried DBZ, Naruto, Bleach, etc. & didn’t like it so anime doesn’t have anything to offer me”. The other side of that is when you get into less mainstream titles you can get into some pretty weird or pervy stuff or doesn’t translate well into other cultures, which leads to a whole other set of stereotypes. Personally I’m pretty diverse in the type of anime I enjoy, but even so I have preferences & things I find offensive.
  13. I’m enjoying it more than I expected to.
  14. I’d watched an older OVA series called Broken Blade that had mecha but were powered by a sort of alchemy/sorcery & enjoyed it. Unfortunately it “ended” without really resolving anything. I think I saw where there was also a tv series, but it never got licensed in the US. I’ll add Heroic Age to my PTW list, but probably won’t get to it anytime soon. Like I said, I want to check out Log Horizon so I know if the upcoming season is something I’m interested in. Right now, I’m still sampling the new shows/seasons to decide which ones I want to follow weekly. My current top prospects: Golden Kamuy S3 Fire Force S2 Moriarty the Patriot Jujutsu Kaisen I’m standing on a million Lives
  15. I recommend Re:Zero I recommend Princess Resurrection I recommend Gamers I recommend Kill la Kill Planet With
  16. Watched the first episode of Gymnastics Samurai. Was prepared for the pathos as the MC is a single father (widower) & former Olympic gymnast being told to retire, but had more humor & weirdness to it than I expected. Think I may have found another sports anime I might actually enjoy
  17. I’ve made several references on these forums about how I first got into anime as well being a member of the half-century club I watched some HSDxD, I think finished the first season, but found it too ecchi for my tastes. Planning on checking out Log Horizon soon as season 3 is scheduled for next year.
  18. I’ve always been fascinated by animation in general as a medium. The first anime I saw (Star Blazers) & Robotech some years later really stood out from the “cartoons” that were on tv at the time (70’s & 80’s). Even in their edited & Americanized versions, they had a linear story that dealt with the topic of the military & war and had characters that matured, fell in love & in some cases died, as well as personalities that didn’t always fit into the stereotypical heroes & villains. Since getting into streaming in recent years, I’ve really diversified the different genres I watch, though my favorite is probably fantasy (as in D&D type worlds) or ones with a supernatural aspect to them.
  19. Watched episode 2. Male lead still gets on my nerves & didn’t like the female lead as much this week. Will give it at least one more week since it looks like some supporting cast will be introduced, but right now looks like I’ll be shelving it.
  20. Episode 2 of Jujutsu Kaisen. Yeah, I ‘m digging this series now & the ED is awesome
