Ik it's been a long time and I haven't been on here in awhile, but I thought I'd try to start things up on here again, are there any new or returning anime anybody's excited about??

For me the best shows curtently airing are all carryovers from last year (Frieren, Shangri La Frontier, Ragna Crimson, The Apothecary Diaries). April will have new seasons of a number of high profile series (My Hero Academia, Konosuba, Yuru Camp, Demon Slayer, Reincarnated as a Slime, Mushoku Tensei). Plus I’m planning to see the Spy x Family movie when it comes to theaters around here. As far as new stuff, will have to wait & see.

How's it going, everyone? Almost 2024 already

So, December has come around again. But what makes this December special is that is it marks the first anniversary of my subscription to Crunchyroll and a having a broadband service fast enough to stream video without buffering every few minutes.
One of the big pluses is being able to watch series a few weeks after it aired rather than a few years after it aired, always assuming it even got a UK DVD/Blu-ray release which quite a few series don't get.
Over the past 12 months I've watched a huge amount of new anime, some of it very new and some of it rather old but new to me. Quite a lot of the series I've watched I'd never even heard of before I subscribed to CR. The series I watched were a fairly mixed bag, some I thought weren't bad but weren't all that good either, some were quite decent, and others were so good I wanted to watch them again (and I already have for some). But out of all the new series I've watched this year the ones that really stood out for me were, in no particular order:
Yurucamp.
A Place Further Than the Universe.
Chihayafuru.
Hyouka.
The Angel Next Door Spoils Me Rotten.-
Yeah, streaming really does broaden what’s available & enables you to check out series you’re not sure about before buying a physical copy. Agree with Yuru Camp & A Place Further than the Universe being a couple of CR’s best series. Probably won’t post my own Favorites/Disappointments of 2023 until the middle on January since there are a number of series I plan to binge. Also that’s usually the deadline for the “awards” thread over in one of my MAL Clubs (not really official in anyway, just some members “voting” for various categories).

I hope everyone celebrating Thanksgiving today in the U.S has a safe and happy day

I'm bored, how is everyone today?
-
Kind of annoyed at the moment because my home internet has been down since I got off work this evening, so not able to watch anime. Could always watch on my phone, but I prefer the tv’s larger screen. Rainy today, so couldn’t do anything outdoors either & of course it’s dark out now. Still a bit early to turn in for the night, so bored too.

It's y birthdayyyyyy. Already 47 years old. I am turning into an old man haha. I am expecting a good isekai suggestion as present from you guys
-
Happy Birthday Hope you enjoyed your day
As far as isekai recommendations, having trouble remembering all the ones I’ve already recommended or that you mentioned watching & not seeing a link to your list on MAL.
Maybe try Saga of Tanya the Evil
https://myanimelist.net/anime/32615/Youjo_Senki
it’s different from most other isekai in that it’s set in an alternate WW I timeline with magic. It’s fairly popular, currently has 1 season, a movie & a special. A season 2 is supposedly in the works, but haven’t heard any news in about a year. Alternatively, season 2 of Mushoku Tensei just started streaming.

Responding to your request for recommendations here since they won’t be summer 2023 series. The heavy hitters would be Overlord or Re:Zero, but both have multiple seasons & are pretty well known. For something shorter & more obscure: The Far Away Paladin, Skeleton Knight in Another World & I’m Standing on a Million Lives. I’ve heard good things about Grimgar of Fantasy & Ash, but haven’t see it yet. If you’re willing to forgo the isekai requirement maybe Goblin Slayer or Alame Ga Kill. Hopefully you’ll find something that works for you.

I’ve gotten back into it & am on the current ep. I still have other shows I think are better this season & feel it relies too much on shock value, but liking it better than I did i initially. A lot of my final opinion will depend on what kind of note it ends on & whether there’s a continuation planned.

I'm still alive guys. Sorry been incognito. On some new medication so been out of it.
Been watching anime more now than ever. Trying to catch up some series.

Happy Easter everyone.
(and however you do, or don't celebrate Easter, try not to eat too many Easter eggs.)
-
I don’t think I know anyone who eat’s actual Easter Eggs. These are another story
though jelly beans (except for black & purple ones) are my personal fave.
Going to put some spring flowers on mom & dad’s grave this morning and meet up with my sister & her family for lunch, so won’t be online again till late afternoon or evening. Have a good day everyone.

Just had to put my dog to sleep because of cancer. I cannot stop crying. Cannot believe i wont see her anymore
-
Sorry to hear, they definitely become an important part of your life. Me & my family always had dogs growing up & each one had it’s own personality & quirks as well as a particular member of the family it bonded with more. I had to say goodbye to my 14 year old yellow lab a couple years ago because of health issues, but still a hard decision. Haven’t gotten another since I live alone now & am at work during the day. The boss brings her’s to work though, so serves as my temporary therapy animal.
Try to enjoy the happy memories you had together
