  1. I don't  do coffee. I blame my dad for giving me a taste of his (straight black Folgers) when I was about 4 years old (just thinking about it makes my eyes water).

    I can't live without sweet tea though (cold, I don't really like hot beverages)

  2. My first would have to be Yuki Mori (Nova) since the first anime I ever watched was Star Blazers (I wasn't  even a teenager at the time). And the updated version is even easier on the eyes 😍

    The next one to really capture my attention would be Kiyone Makibi from Tenchi Universe

    Ila from Rune Soldier was probably the first I considered waifu material (smart, supportive and from a wealthy family 😋)

    Probably the closest I have currently is Rin Shima from Yuru Camp, though she's more of a kindred spirit

  3. Simulcasts: Golden Kamuy season 2, That Time I Was Reincarnated as a Slime, Xuan Yuan Sword Luminary,  RErideD, Zombie Land Saga, Gurazeni Money Pitch season 2, Ms. Vampire Who lives in my Neighborhood, Hinomaru Sumo, Goblin Slayer, Gegege no Kitaro, Anima Yell.

    Netflix: Just finished Castlevania Season 2 & started Dragon Pilot Hisone & Masotan

  4. I think the only series I've seen that I consider to be "actual yuri" is Strawberry Panic. I definitely liked the art style used, particularly the character designs. I suppose Kannazuki: Destiny of a Shrine Maiden qualifies, but I really didn't care for it.

    Of the various series I've watched where a yuri relationship is heavily implied, Flip Flappers is probably my fave, I really liked the highly imaginative and creative visual styles used & it was pretty funny too.

  5. My faves from that time period: Megalobox, Golden Kamuy, Hinamatsuri, Planet With, Gegege no Kitaro, Asobi Asbobase, Hinomaru Sumo, Xuan Yuan Sword Luminary, Ms. Vampire who Lives in my Neighborhood.

    If you're willing to go back to the winter of 2018, watch Yuru Camp & A Place Futher then the Universe which are probably my favorites for the whole year

    Effective 11/9.  List of affected titles forthcoming. HiDive taking Funimation Now's spot on VRV

    I was going to cancel my Funimation subscription when it ran out next month, but guess I'll keep it after all. I'm glad Funi will make the subtitled versions of more of their series available on their site since that's my preferred way to watch, but I really don't like Funimation Now's site navigation :(

  7. I actually enjoyed the "game world" half of the first episode, the real world half ... not so much -_-;

    I was initially thrown by the young version of Kirito, but when they explained part of the new technology was not only a more immersive game world, but where years can pass while a much shorter time passes in the real world it seemed to make a bit more sense.

    I actually put the series on hold after the first ep :lol: I do intend to watch at least some more, but not a priority since I'm not a fan of the franchise and besides the new season's other shows, there are several Netflix series I want to watch too (Dragon Pilot, 7 Deadly SIns: Return of the Commandments & Castlevania season 2 leater this month)

  8. That Time I got Reincarnated as a Slime - favorite aspect at the moment are the humorous personality traits they've been giving the various monster races

    Xuan Yuan Sword Luminary - flawed but still liking the sisters' characters

    Golden Kamuy Season 2 - still a wild ride, but hoping things get a bit more serious soon & the focus gets back on the Sugimoto and Asirpa

    Zombie Land Saga - 2nd ep wasn't as funny as the first, but will hopefully remain at least somewhat funny for the entire season

    Miss Vampire Who Lives in my Neighborhood & Anima Yell - my requisite CGDCT series of the season

    Gegege no Kitaro & Muhyo & Roji's Bureau of Supernatural Investigations - providing the proper atmosphere for Halloween

  9. Favorite Drinks: Tradewinds Sweet Tea, Hawaiian Punch or the Gatorade equivalent, Sunny D (Tangy). Don't drink a whole of carbonated stuff, but Coke is my favorite cola,

    Favorite Foods: MEAT!!! 😋😋I tend to prefer pork over beef, but probably eat more poultry (chicken & turkey) than anything, particularly chicken because it can be cooked/served so many different ways. I like some seafood, but it has to be cooked right & I don't do sushi.  Grains/starches for me are usually some form of pasta or rice and of course french fries. Vegetables: don't really like all that many (would be healthier if I did) but faves are corn, pickled beets, green beans or mustard greens seasoned with bacon. Fruits: I like most, but prefer things on the tart/sour side as opposed to being overly sweet.

    Snacks: I don't have much of a sweet tooth & actually have to be cautious around a lot of baked goods & candy because I have a pretty severe food allergy to tree nuts (peanuts are fine though). I have a weakness for salty things so : chips of course, but also Cheezits, Ritz Crackers, pretzels & popcorn (especially with white cheddar)

    The female protagonist is a monster or is turning into one (not sure about this).

    The anime is VERY violent, blood and gore everywhere.

    Blood C, maybe? It's notorious for being one of the goriest anime out there &  has a female protagonist who turns out to be inhuman.

  11. My apologies on the image, upon further investigation, it appears to be a particularly well done piece of fan art by someone trying to ship Bakugo & Uraraka. I'd actually seen several other similar images of them in their formal attire promoting the movie so I thought it was legit. And actually I think it would have been a good montage to play at the end. Of course it would have to take place after everyone had a chance to clean things up, but it would have been an opportunity to give the side characters some more screen time & in a setting that the tv series actually hasn't explored (a formal dance);

    Once again, I'm not telling anyone who's a fan to not see the movie, I'm just saying don't expect to be blown away or anything (a lot of my own disappointment is probably a result of being over-hyped for it).

    Likewise, if you'd never seen the series before & are thinking of passing on it because the movie didn't seem that great, the series is much, MUCH better.
