Omg!
I'm just watching the series and the upside down place is right after the shadow ep!
Good to know
I’d only seen the movie myself. Will have to give the tv series a look sometime.

Welcome to the forums, hope you enjoy it here
As far as favorites:
Currently airing would be My Hero Academia, Dr. Stone & Vinland Saga.
All Time would include: Cowboy Bebop, Demon Slayer (Kimetsu no Yaiba), Fullmetal Alchemist Brotherhood, Star Blazers (Space Battleship Yamato) & Azumanga Daioh.

The clip I posted earlier was from the movie, but it apparently played out a bit differently in the tv series

There is another series not as old called Galaxy Railways & as mentioned before there is some overlap with Captain Harlock & Emereldas. Only other anime that comes to mind with trains is Night on the Galactic Railroad.
Only thing that cones to mind about being upside down is a movie called Patema Inverted but it’s fairly recent.
If I think of anything else I’ll post.

Glad to be useful
Along with Star Blazers (also by Leiji Matsumoto) it was some of the first anime I watched.

Primarily Funimation & VRV (which combines Crunchyroll & HiDive’s Libraries). And every couple months I switch between Netflix & Amazon as they add titles. Funi shares a lot of it’s simulcasts with Hulu now.
And there’s a free (commercial financed) but legal site called TubiTV that has quite a few older series (no simulcasts and the video quality isn’t that great) https://tubitv.com/category/animebtw, here’s a site that lets you search which service has a particular series https://because.moe/

Sounds like Galaxy Express 999 or one of it’s related series (Captain Harlock/Queen Emereldas)
See if this looks familiar

I don't remember when I started getting anime dvds. Though my collection just keeps getting bigger over the years.
Pretty sure my first anime dvds were Bandai’s Outlaw Star Collections

which would’ve been around 2001. Still have them around somewhere.
Started with VHS around the mid 90’s, though most of those are gone now.

Thought I’d create a topic for this show since a couple other members had indicated that they watched the first episode at least.
Also, while browsing another site I clicked a spoiler that contained more information than I intended to learn at this early stage
Suffice to say that despite being largely comedic up to this point there is a more serious and darker side to the story.
Episode 3 contains a lot of hints to the big picture while still being funnier than last week IMO (especially Seiya’s new sparring partner
).
Anyway, this will get boring fast if I’m the only one talking. So, anyone else care to give their thoughts?

Finally got around to starting Higurashi (When They Cry) last night since there aren’t any new series I watch on Tuesdays. Determined to make it through all of it (had previously only seen the first series). No way I’ll finish by Halloween though.

Let's say there was potential (although the male MC looks like Kirito) but it went all down the drain with those loli quarrels and magic fights.
I’m honestly still kinda interested in the setting/world it takes place in but the relationship between the MC and the loli is already feeling creepy to me. And yeah, the interactions between the girls isn’t good either
actually seemed to imply the girl bullying her was actually a friend
I really need to cut down on the number of series I’m watching anyway, so this is an easy drop.
Special 7 is decent so far, but they really need to start fleshing out the characters more.
I love the character designs for Azure Lane, but the personalities aren’t really engaging. Though Laffey is funny

Hadn’t updated this topic in awhile, but this week’s episode (16) made some key revelations.
revealed that Senku’s dad was an astronaut on the International Space Station when humanity was petrified. And apparently goes on to found the village where the story is currently taking place. Actually guessing that Senku’s dad and the blond idol singer are Kohaku & Rue’s ancestors.
If you are someone who dropped the series early on, I can relate because I almost did the same. But I’d like to suggest giving it a second look because it is becoming a better series as it goes forward.-

Well that sucks
. I’m certain there are people who disagree with me, but <shrugs>

@Wedgy I find that I keep watching it myself hoping it will turn things around and realize it’s potential. To be fair, the 2nd cour hasn’t started yet due to some delays.

Apparently episode 3 of Cautious Hero will be delayed a week

2nd episode of the Average Abilities isekai was a marked improvement over the first despite largely staying in CGDCT mode. I had hoped we’d seen the last of the villainess though. It’s impossible to take her seriously, but she’s not funny either & and I’ve heard she’s an anime only character. Actually I’ve seen a number of people complain about the anime deviating from the source material. Three episode rule is in effect.

Felt much colder this morning even though it was actually 40. Supposed to get into the mid-70s this afternoon, then rain overnight.

HiDive has the original series, Kai & Rei. I’m currently subscribed to VRV which combines Crunchyroll & HiDives libraries (also some other animation & nerd channels). Not sure if that’s an option outside the US or not. Been meaning to watch the whole thing around Halloween time for years, but always got sidetracked. But I’ll at least finish it this year. Just finished episode 15 of the original series.
