  1. For me it all started with the Iscandar & Comet Empire arcs of Star Blazers which forever changed my perceptions of what animation could be like. Was so into it and I would actually set my alarm when school was out for the summer just to watch it & then go back to bed afterwards because it was on at like 5 or 6 am. Watched all the syndicated stuff like Battle of the Planets, Tranzor Z, Voltron, Robotech, Sailor Moon, Pokemon, etc. I missed out on Toonami because I didn't have cable back then. Started buying anime VHS tapes in the 90's (the ADV/Suncoast era). Not exactly sure what my first subtitled anime purchase was, but pretty sure it was either Ranma 1/2, Project A-ko or Devil Hunter Yohko. I actually got away from anime for awhile when the emphasis shifted over to streaming since I didn't use to have a reliable internet connection. But since moving a couple years back, I've gotten back into it in a big way. Some of my more recent faves are My Hero Academia, Yuru Camp & Konosuba.

    Favorite Anime OP!

sends chills down my spine everytime
  3. Currently under an ice storm warning. Started raining around 10 last night and hasn't stopped, currently around freezing. Reports of tree branches & power lines down throughout the area. I have yet to set foot outside my door & won't until there's at least some daylight.

Yeah, supposedly the same here but I think our hurricane weeded out the weaker limbs and trees. They made school a two hour delay but I think thst was jumping the gun. Not a bit of ice that I can see.

Some pine limbs took out part of the fence in the back yard but no damage to the house or car. Roads aren’t bad, just the deck & sidewalk

  4. Not sure if it qualifies as a season 2, but ... https://www.animenewsnetwork.com/news/2018-11-12/hana-to-yume-magazine-lists-new-anime-for-natsuki-takaya-fruits-basket-manga/.139273
  5. Beautiful Bones: Sakurako’s Investigation definitely needs to pick up where things left off (an OVA series or movie at the very least). Same with Land of the Lustrous. For an old school shonen title, Flame of Recca. And even though they’re not well reviewed, I personally would like to see Princess Resurrection & Aesthetica of a Rogue Hero get continued.
  6. There are a number of series I would like to go back & rewatch in their entirety (The original Cardcaptor Sakura & all seasons of Slayers are just a few examples that come to mind), but I simply don't have time (maybe when (if :P) I retire  I do go back and re-watch specific episodes sometimes (usually from something fun like Azumanga Daioh) if I need something to make me smile/relax/put me in a better mood.
  7. That would definitely be Jungle de Ikou! Are you sure the guns were odd colors? This was the only thing I came up with so far
  8. Had our first hard freeze of the season last night. Glad they got the heating system fixed last week.

  9. Here's the list Funimation posted for series that are leaving Crunchyroll https://www.funimation.com/blog/2018/11/09/subs-back-funimationnow-welcomes-300-subtitled-shows-starting-nov-10/
  10. I don't do coffee. I blame my dad for giving me a taste of his (straight black Folgers) when I was about 4 years old (just thinking about it makes my eyes water). I can't live without sweet tea though (cold, I don't really like hot beverages)
  11. My first would have to be Yuki Mori (Nova) since the first anime I ever watched was Star Blazers (I wasn't even a teenager at the time). And the updated version is even easier on the eyes The next one to really capture my attention would be Kiyone Makibi from Tenchi Universe Ila from Rune Soldier was probably the first I considered waifu material (smart, supportive and from a wealthy family ) Probably the closest I have currently is Rin Shima from Yuru Camp, though she's more of a kindred spirit
  12. So, Tower of Druaga? Haven't heard that one mentioned in ages.
  13. Simulcasts: Golden Kamuy season 2, That Time I Was Reincarnated as a Slime, Xuan Yuan Sword Luminary, RErideD, Zombie Land Saga, Gurazeni Money Pitch season 2, Ms. Vampire Who lives in my Neighborhood, Hinomaru Sumo, Goblin Slayer, Gegege no Kitaro, Anima Yell. Netflix: Just finished Castlevania Season 2 & started Dragon Pilot Hisone & Masotan
  14. Probably my favorite ED for the season & it's sung by the actual voice actresses
  15. Another of my faves would be Kiyone & Mihoshi from Tenchi Muyo (absolutely love the episode that focused on their daily lives from Tenchi Universe)
  16. I think the only series I've seen that I consider to be "actual yuri" is Strawberry Panic. I definitely liked the art style used, particularly the character designs. I suppose Kannazuki: Destiny of a Shrine Maiden qualifies, but I really didn't care for it. Of the various series I've watched where a yuri relationship is heavily implied, Flip Flappers is probably my fave, I really liked the highly imaginative and creative visual styles used & it was pretty funny too.
  17. My faves from that time period: Megalobox, Golden Kamuy, Hinamatsuri, Planet With, Gegege no Kitaro, Asobi Asbobase, Hinomaru Sumo, Xuan Yuan Sword Luminary, Ms. Vampire who Lives in my Neighborhood. If you're willing to go back to the winter of 2018, watch Yuru Camp & A Place Futher then the Universe which are probably my favorites for the whole year
  18. https://www.animenewsnetwork.com/news/2018-10-18/funimation-crunchyroll-end-content-sharing-partnership/.138330 Effective 11/9. List of affected titles forthcoming. HiDive taking Funimation Now's spot on VRV I was going to cancel my Funimation subscription when it ran out next month, but guess I'll keep it after all. I'm glad Funi will make the subtitled versions of more of their series available on their site since that's my preferred way to watch, but I really don't like Funimation Now's site navigation
  19. I actually enjoyed the "game world" half of the first episode, the real world half ... not so much -_-; I was initially thrown by the young version of Kirito, but when they explained part of the new technology was not only a more immersive game world, but where years can pass while a much shorter time passes in the real world it seemed to make a bit more sense. I actually put the series on hold after the first ep  I do intend to watch at least some more, but not a priority since I'm not a fan of the franchise and besides the new season's other shows, there are several Netflix series I want to watch too (Dragon Pilot, 7 Deadly SIns: Return of the Commandments & Castlevania season 2 leater this month)
