Animes you watched or watch most people don't know about
Ohayotaku replied to Serge heartless's topic in Anime Discussion
It’s fairly recent but there’s a series called Hakata Tonkatsu Ramens that I recommend to anyone who likes Durarara, Bacanno or Black Lagoon. A word of warning it is pretty violent and has a very dark sense of humor. -

@The History Kid Glad you’re enjoying it, definitely one of the funnier recent series IMO. There’s a movie coming out in Japan soon, hopefully CR will stream it eventually The characters are also pretty prominent in Isekai Quartet, though if you’re not familiar with the other series, a lot of jokes aren’t as funny.

If you’re looking for public opinion check out the MAL listing. As far as my own opinion, it made me laugh at times, but there were also entire episodes that did nothing for me. There are a few generally brief moments of sentiment and characterization, but it’s 95% percent a gag/parody series. I think I still have a couple of the better episodes recorded from Toonami, but not worth buying IMO.

I generally don’t buy into the concept of an anime with universal appeal since everyone has their own tastes. I much prefer to think that in the vast variety of anime series there’s something for everyone instead of a few series that appeal to everyone. It’s much easier to recommend series on an individual basis . As far as exploring, I would recommend subscribing to a streaming service with a variety of titles and check out series where the concept interests you even if it’s not a genre you usually watch. I doubt Romance, Sports or Reverse Harems will ever be favorites of mine, but I have come across examples that were surprisingly enjoyable. That being said, there are some favorites of mine that tend to be pretty widely appreciated (regardless, I would recommend watching before buying if possible) Cowboy Bebop Fullmetal Alchemist (both versions are sufficiently different that they are worth checking out, though my own preference is Brotherhood) Trigun Cardcaptor Sakura Mushishi Death Note My Hero Academia Most of these are pretty mainstream, but when recommending more obscure stuff, I prefer to know a bit mire about what they’re looking for

Can’t believe these are by the same artist

Love the visuals that accompany this one

I think you did a really good job summarizing why I’ve always been a fan of animation in general and not just anime as far as bring a form of expression. Even when the setting or story isn’t anything fantastical, the visual style and character designs can make it stand out from others that have similar concepts. Whike things like lighting and fx can have a similar impact on live action, it doesn’t seem as noticeable.

I think the problem was on my end. I need to replace my pc and sometimes pages don’t look right on the phone (makes posting more of a challenge too). Hopefully you’ll enjoy the series

The dog is freaking out because there’s a thunderstorm. Hopefully the power will stay on.

There are several series in that genre thst I enjoy as well. Some favorites being Aria, My Roommate is a Cat, Flying Witch & Yuru Camp.

For the upcoming season To the Abandoned Sacred Beasts & Fireforce are the ones I’m anticipating most. Also curious about Cop Craft, Dr. Stone & B.E.M.

This for me too, though like some people have already said I tend to watch a little bit of everything, especially since streaming lets me explore without spending a lot of money.

@Kinbaryu wow, your submission seemed really professionally done. Kudos

My opinion of the series actually went up a fair bit after watching episode 12 as I like the way this current mission is unfolding. As long as they keep up the momentum next week, I’ll probably follow it into the new cour.

Welcome Having a bit of trouble reading your post, but may be because I’m viewing on my phone. Glad you’re here regardless. As far as recommendations, I recently watched a series called Kabaneri of the Iron Fortress which is an eastern steampunk zombie apocalypse series (rather unique). Currently it’s just a single cour, but I believe there are a couple summary movies and an upcoming sequel movie. Hope you find enough things to interest you around here that you stick around.

Welcome, happy to see more new members Looking at the types and of anime you enjoy, wondering if you’ve seen Aria? About a girl training to be a gondolier after Mars was terraformed to resemble the earth city of Venice. It has a very tranquil, dreamlike vibe to it and three seasons (The Animation, The Natural & The Origination). I’ll also mention a series I recently watched called Kemurikusa that reminded me a bit of HhD , having a very surreal setting. Hope you enjoy yourself here.

What do you think about domestic girlfriend
Ohayotaku replied to cose1321's topic in Anime Discussion
I actually liked Rui’s character for most of the series & even thought the male lead was an overall decent guy early on, but I couldn’t stand Hina from the start and she only seemed to get worse. And unfortunately by the end of the series I couldn’t feel respect for any of them. -
I haven’t read the manga, but considering the anime ended with a lot of unresolved questions about Akame, I assume it’s at least more complete.

Welcome, glad you found your way here Based on your description of the type of anime you enjoy, I’ll toss out the recent Ushio & Tora tv series as a recommendation. Hope you stick around.

This week’s reveals didn’t come as any real surprise, but it was still a good episode. With next week being the season finale, there’s no way everything will be wrapped up, but wonder what kind of note it will end on.
