  1. Welcome People here are pretty friendly and easy to talk to. Also seems to be pretty diverse as far as age and where they’re from. Hope you like it here.
  2. Welcome While I haven’t been as big a fan of MLPFIM from season 5 on, I continue to watch it. As far as anime goes, my advice would be to start with something a bit more ... mellow than Evangelion. Some personal recommendations would be Magic Knight Rayearth, Little Witch Academia, Cardcaptor Sakura, Yuru Camp, K-on!, Azumanga Daioh, My Roommate is a Cat (especially since you like animals), Flying Witch, & Fruits Basket (the 2019 version is really good). There’s also Umamusume Derby if you’re curious about the Japanese version of horse girls. For more action oriented series try My Hero Academia and Fullmetal Alchemist (both versions of FMA are good but I prefer Brotherhood personally). Hope you enjoy it here.
  3. Wow, you must like Rin almost as much as I do 🤩

  4. Episode 5 offered up plenty of the adorableness this show is known for. There are also some tense moments, but everything works out. The fact that the writers remain discreet about what could have happened gives me hope that overall the series will stay on the positive side of things while not shying away from the fact that the world can be a dangerous place. I see some metaphor in how . This continues to be one of my favorite new series, hope it stays the course.
  5. Sakura’s motivation this week was having to run the anchor lap of the relay race at her school’s sports day (they called it field day at my school). It was a nice way to show that her exercise regiment is making a difference. Things wrap up with the girls having a test of endurance of sorts. The fanservice seemed more prevalent this week, but still tame compared to truly ecchi series.
  6. You’re in the right place then Glad you found your way here
  7. Magic Knight Rayearth (shoujo) Konosuba or Rune Soldier (comedy) Claymore or Goblin Slayer (dark/violent) lots of others, but there’s a start
  8. I managed to pick up just enough of FLCL’s symbolism to never be entirely sure when it was actually trying to say something & when it was just being weird.
  9. I was prepared to drop Astra Lost in Space, but then it goes and does a beach episode ... ok, one more week 😊

  10. Maybe try the Ushio & Tora tv series. https://myanimelist.net/anime/29854/Ushio_to_Tora_TV?q=Ushio. It’s shonen with cool fight sequences. Not as irreverent as Mob Psycho but still some comedy as the 2 protagonists don’t get along at first. There’s also Jojo’s Bizarre Adventure, though that one proved to be too over the top for me Edit: one more https://myanimelist.net/anime/1559/Shijou_Saikyou_no_Deshi_Kenichi?q=Kenichi Kenichi the Mightiest Disciple about a weak high schooler who becomes too strong for his own good after being trained by a group of eccentric martial artists. The most comedic of my recommendations and also has some fanservice . The more I think on it, the more I think this may be your best option if you’re looking for something not too serious. Edit 2: I lied about being done before  https://myanimelist.net/anime/37487/Muhyo_to_Rouji_no_Mahouritsu_Soudan_Jimusho?q=Supernatural About a duo dealing with supernatural threats. Only 1 season so far, but another is in the works. NOW I’ll give someone else a chance to talk
  11. Welcome to the forums Glad you found your way here. I’d watched the first season of Higurashi but never fished it, so I probably need to start from the beginning. I keep saving it for October (love watching more horror themed series around Halloween), but always get sidetracked. Guess I’ll try again this year
  12. The dub is really well done IMO and is one of the rare instances that I prefer it over the original language. I watched a couple episodes of the subtitled version for comparison and they were almost identical as far as translation, just some slight embellishment on the english version that seemed to match the series overall tone. Definitely doesn’t sound like the VAs are just reading from a script
  13. Welcome to the wonderful world of anime Hopefully we can make the experience even more enjoyable for you. Based on the favorites listed on your profile I would recommend Fruits Basket (2019) & Isekai Cheat Magician from the currently airing series. I’ve been watching anime a longggggg time, so if you’re interested in any older series let us know.
  14. I think you’re talking about Mari who was in the 2nd & 3rd of the Rebuild movies which started in 2007 Believe it or not we’re still waiting for the 4th one to come out The version on Netflix right now is the original series from the 90’s
  15. If you’ve been following my recent posts, you’ll know this series has become one of my obsessions. The premise is that eight teenagers, (each specializing in a particular genre of online gaming) are abducted and forced to complete a series of challenges which are streamed live. Their masked host informs that they will remain trapped until they can accumulate 100 million views. The things that stand out immediately are the weird setting where realistically impossible things happen frequently and the smart-alecky banter between the characters (kinda like Haruhi Suzimiya). While the initial impression of the series is comedic, the more it progresses the more mystery, suspense & psychological it becomes. It’s becoming increasingly clear that the various characters have their own secrets and in at least one case it makes him/her potentially dangerous. I realize that this series is under most people’s radar. But I think @Castigear has watched a couple episodes & @LonelyPoet mentioned the manga it is based on. I thought I would see if there’s enough interest to justify a discussion or at least recommend checking it out to my fellow forum members because I’m enjoying it a lot. Here in the US you can find the dub on Funimation (the version I’m following) and the subtitled version on Hulu. Let me know what you think.
  16. Glad to help. Trick was they referred to her as Astrea instead of Libra.
  17. Latest episode focused on Zenitsu and gave some insight into why he acts the way he does. Wouldn’t say I respect him now, but at least I’m more sympathetic than I was. The dude realizes what a mess he is & is trying to cope as best he can and get better.
  18. I tend to watch new episodes the same day, so I’ll give a heads up if it heads into taboo territory.
  19. Correct, this one doesn’t even appear to be an isekai and is completely unrelated. Demon Lord Retry is it’s own thing as well but has more similarities.
  20. I wound up as Bow, though over half those questions didn’t have an answer that really suited me
  21. My currently airing top 5 1. Kimetsu no Yaiba 2. Fruits Basket (2019) 3. The Ones Within 4. If it’s for my Daughter, I’d even defeat a Demon Lord 5. Fire Force
  22. Thanks for the follow 😁
