  1. Binge watched the first 4 eps of Kaiju No. 8 & wish I’d started it sooner. New anime-of-the-season contender. Not a good idea to eat while watching though. A combination of Chainsaw Man & early seasons of My Hero Academia seems like a good description. Appreciate that the MC is in his 30s (30 was actually a greater hit to my ego than 40, so relatable )
  2. Finished the first 2 volumes & enjoyed them.
  3. Yes (in the US anyway). it’s listed as Legend of Crimson & takes place after season 2, before season 3.
  4. There’s also a movie that takes place in-between seasons 2 & 3. And a prequel anime focusing on Megumin & Yunyun, but the general consensus is that it’s not as enjoyable.
  5. Finally got around to finishing season 3 of Tokyo Revengers. An improvement over season 2, I’d put it on par with season 1.
  6. Just finished Yuru Camp season 3 ep 4. As great a duo as she makes with Nadeshiko, it’s nice Rin has found someone to be badass with in Ayano Though they did get in a bit over their heads on that last suspension bridge
  7. Still a number of series I’ve yet to check out, but currently Mushoku Tensei is my AOTS.
  8. Full ED song from Konosuba Season 3
  9. Personal faves: Azumanga Daioh (comedy) School Rumble (comedy) Yuru Camp (CGDCT) Aria (unusual setting) 3 seasons & multiple OVAs/specials The Masterful Cat is Depressed Again Today
  10. Update https://www.crunchyroll.com/news/announcements/2024/4/23/konosuba-season-3-anime-english-dub-cast-crew-release-date
  11. Saw Spy x Family: Code White at the movies Thursday. Visually nice, but disappointing in every other aspect. Sadly, the franchise has lost just about all appeal for me. Watched Malignant on Netflix today & plan to watch Joker tomorrow since both are leaving the service next week.
  12. Their line-up page says there will be a dub, but no mention of when https://www.crunchyroll.com/news/seasonal-lineup/2024/3/13/crunchyroll-spring-2024-dubs-konosuba-black-butler-kaiju-no-8 As for myself, I’ m late getting into the Spring season. Here’s where things stand at the moment. Plan to watch in entirety: Yuru Camp S3 • Reincarnated as a Slime S3 • Duke of Death & His Maid S3 • Konosuba S3 • Mushoku Tensei S2-2 • My Hero Academia S7 (starts 05/04) • Demon Slayer: Hashira Training Arc (starts 05/12) Plan to check out: Kaiju No. 8 • Go, Go, Loser Ranger • Wind Breaker • Tonari no Youkai-san • Jellyfish Can’t Swim in the Night • Mission: Yozakura Family • Spice & Wolf remake (planning to wait until the 1st cour finishes) Started , but not sure if I’ll Finish: Mysterious Disappearances • Studio Apartment, Angel Included • Arch Demon & Elf Bride • Train to the End of the World • Voice Actor Radio• Reincarnated 7th Prince • Sand Land • Ninja Kamui • Tsukimichi S2 Started, but don’t plan to finish: Level 2 Cheat Powers • Re:Monster • Vampire Dormitory
  13. Maybe try Wedding Peach https://myanimelist.net/anime/1533/Ai_Tenshi_Densetsu_Wedding_Peach
  14. From Winter 2024 From Spring 2024
  15. CR has added a countdown clock to their site for the 1st ep of Kaiju No. 8. Unfortunately many times them hyping a series turns out to be a kiss of death. Time will tell I suppose.
  16. Welcome Hope you find things to interest you here & decide to stick around.
  17. Flip Flappers has some of the most varied & eye -catching art styles of any anime I can remember
  18. Finished The Wrong Way to Use Healing Magic. Enjoyed it more than I thought I would, which is why I still try to give new isekai series a chance. Especially liked the master/trainee dynamic between Rose & Usato. While largely played for laughs, it still delivered some genuine feelz as well. Hope it gets a 2nd season, because it feels like it’s just getting started.
  19. Similar to Chainsaw Man: Dorohedoro Spy x Family: Buddy Daddies Violet Evergarden: Vivy - Fluorite Eye's Song
  20. I just finished Frieren recently. While I agree with it being the best thing to air over the past 6 months, I have to feel it’s current ranking on MAL is overstating things. Will be wrapping up a number of series this weekend: Wrong Way to Use Healing Magic • Solo Leveling • Ragna Crimson Need to catch up on: The Dangers in my Heart season 2 • Shangri La Frontier • The Apothecary Diaries • Undead Unluck Looking forward to Yuru Camp season 3 a week from today.
  21. Welcome Hope you find things to interest you here & decide to stick around. Some of my favorite SoLs: Azumanga Daioh • School Rumble • Yuru (Laidback) Camp • Diary of our Days at the Breakwater • Do It Yourself • My Roommate is a Cat • Flying Witch Favorite Romcoms: Tomo-chan is a Girl • Recovery of an MMO Junkie • My Dress-up Darling. Currently watching the 2nd season of The Dangers in My Heart. And as far as romantic drama, I recommend the Fruits Basket remake (2019-21)
  22. Welcome Hope you find things to interest you here & decide to stick around. Since you like Chainsaw Man, maybe try Dorohedoro. Currently only 1 season, but another is supposedly in the works. Fir something more shonen (as opposed to seinen) maybe Undead Unluck.
  23. Saw at the cinema today Rascal Does Not Dream of a Sister Venturing Out - the 2nd sequel film to the Bunnygirl-senpai tv series, with the focus on Kaede’s struggle to overcome the extreme social anxiety which previously led to her living as a hikikomori for 2 years. Very emotional with a strong advocacy of alternative educational methods & learning/finding acceptance for being different (not “normal”). Rascal Does Not Dream of a Knapsack Kid - the 3rd film , focusing on an unexpected “complication” of the Azusagawa family trying to reconcile & overcome the mutual trauma that resulted in the parents & children living separately. Also greater focus on Sakuta & Mai’s deepening relationship as they get closer to leaving high school & becoming young adults. This one hit me on a much more personal level emotionally & actually made me tear up. Added to my list of all-time favorite anime movies. Both movies were very emotional, while also having the humorous (and in the case of Sakuta/Mai, flirtatious) verbal sparring the franchise is known for. I wasn’t initially a fan, but the deeper I get into it, the more appealing I find it. Definitely recommended for fans of Haruhi Suzimiya (personally I like it better). The one major complaint is that you need to have seen the previous material to keep up with the story. Which is further complicated by the fact that none of the movies are currently streaming legally in the US. This theatrical double feature was extremely limited (one day only for the sub version & dub version the next day only). And the blu ray of the first movie is priced at a premium. And it will only get more difficult for newcomers since the after credit scene revealed that a new animated entry has been green-lit (no word on if it will be a 4th movie or a 2nd season).
  24. More of a Monday quote than a Friday one, but “You may not realize it, but people have to work to make a living, no matter how foul their mood.” - Frieren: Beyond Journey’s End episode 27
  25. Ghostbusters: Afterlife. Will probably check out the follow-up this weekend.
