Macross Frontier: The False Songstress saw this in a theater today, though there were only about a dozen people (hard core otaku I guess ) Did not realize it was one of those movies where they try to condense 12 episodes into 2 hrs. So the scenes don’t transition real smoothly & a lot of things weren’t explained very well. I did pick up on enough of it to be curious about what happens next though. Ideally I’d prefer to wait for a streaming service to pick up the rights to the tv series now that the legal complications have apparently been resolved. But not sure how likely that is considering it took over 10 years to get to this point & I’m not sure if there’s much interest outside of hardcore oldschool otaku, so more than likely I’ll go see the sequel/conclusion film in 2 weeks. And for the record, though I’m probably in the minority, I’m team Ranka as opposed to team team Sheryl.

Spy x Family episode 10 - something about Henderson (“Elegant” sensei) wearing a tracksuit & baseball cap was highly amusing to me And that dodgeball game was like something out of Dragonball Z

Barely after 9:00 am & already extremely humid. Highs are supposed to be in the 90 - 100F range for the foreseeable future (at least 2 weeks)

Another omission I need to correct: Kyoko Honda (Fruits Basket) as a teenager she was not only a delinquent but a gang member (a leader maybe? at the very least she had enough of a reputation to persist as a “legend” even after leaving that lifestyle behind As an adult she was a loving & hardworking single-mother to Tohru after her husband’s death (though she could still get kinda scary if she thought Tohru was in danger). She also would play something of a maternal role to a lonely & isolated Kyo and inspired Uo-chan to get out of the gang lifestyle & have a better relationship with her dad Probably one of the series most emotional moments was that even as she was taking her final breaths she worried that by dying she was leaving her daughter behind to face life alone. Even though we only got to know her in flashbacks, she still made meaningful impacts on the lives of the other characters & on the viewers.

Episode 11 of this. Dang, that was actually a top-tier confession
