Just putting in my 2 cents on the anime version of Fire Force (I’ve watched both seasons that are currently out). The action sequences are kickass & awsomely animated. It actually has a pretty cool & interesting story behind it too. There are even a couple references to the writer’s previous work, Soul Eater though I’m not sure if there’s an actual connection or if they’re just easter eggs. Based on all that I’d give it an 8/10. Unfortunately, I find it’s sense of humor borderline cringey (dumb and or lewd). There are series where I’m actually ok with that, but unfortunately in this case it feels like it drags the series as a whole down, because they’ll interrupt a really intense fight with one if those gags & it just kills the mood IMO & makes it a 6.5 - 7 for me. Also, no word on when the next season is coming out. Still has a lot going for it & so provably worth checking out if your into shonen.

Welcome to the forums, hope you enjoy it here As far as recommendations: Vinland Saga & Dororo (2019). Both have lots of intense battles delve into moral/ethical/psychological issues that aren’t really black or white (some similarities to Claymore. For an emotional rollercoaster ride with the emphasis on character development, try Fruits Basket(2019). The third & final season is currently airing. I’d also like to recommend Megalobox & it’s sequel Nomad which is currently airing (some similarities to Cowboy Bebop in style).

@efaardvark in all honesty the only 2 Korn songs I like are both covers both are recognizable, but also have enough of a different style to be enjoyable on their own.

Back in the day I think it was more of a comic relief thing. A way for guys to laugh at that side of themsrlves & think “Hey, at least I’m not as much of a horndog as that guy”. A caricature basically. (Ataru from Urusei Yatsura comes to mind). More often then not they got rejected, duped or the snot beat out of them (or at least slapped). But increasingly it seems more like a form of fantasy fulfillment that girls secretly think (it’s a tsundere thing) that openly perverted guys are cute & it couldn’t possibly be the reason why they don’t already have a hot gf or their own harem And as has already been noted, sex sells & not just in anime.

Space Battleship Yamato (Star Blazers) 2199 & 2202 maybe. Or Macross. Most scifi anime focus more on mecha than actual capital or fleet ships (unless they’re reimagined as cute/hot girls ) Edit: I haven’t actually watched Legend of the Galactic Heroes, but it has a good rep & seems to have more emphasis on large scale space battle.
