Rain & thunderstorms all day with temps holding in the mid-60s

The Saints Magic Power is Omnipotent - this one’s pretty lowkey to the point I think a lot of people would be bored by it, but I’m actually enjoying it quite a bit. MC (Sei) is a modern day Japanese office lady who is summoned to a fantasy world to save it from catastrophe. Except 2 women arrive instead of just 1. The Prince abruptly declares the other woman to be the prophesied “Saint” and whisks her away to prepare for her role. Unfortunately they don’t have a way to send Sei back home, so she is declared an honored guest. Meaning she is treated courteously & has her needs met but isn’t actually expected to contribute in a meaningful way. Out of boredom she starts spending time in the castle library & gardens, leading her to study potions & magic. As her affinity for it grows, an increasing number of people become convinced that she is the actual “Saint”. Although Sei would just as soon stay out of the spotlight, her unwillingness to not help when she can makes it look like being drawn into the kingdom’s intrigues is inescapable.

My impressions of Shigure (please keep in mind all I have to base on is the series up to ep 4 of the current season) I haven’t even addressed my thoughts on the latest ep, but will have to save that for a little later I think

Saw Kimetsu no Yaiba: Mugen Train over the weekend. From an animation & soundtrack perspective an absolute spectacle & truly impressive. The story seemed a bit lacking though & I felt they laid on the melodrama a bit thick. Personally I felt season 1 had several moments with more emotional impact. Still a worthy follow up & if you plan to watch season 2 when it comes out you should watch the movie first.

@Wedgy much appreciated Don’t let it interfere with the more important priorities of life, but it’s always more enjoyable when it feels like you’re not just talking to yourself & I do wonder where everyone has gone sometimes. I truly am surprised by how emotionally powerful this series has been for me. Even when the specific circumstances haven’t been relatable, the ideas & feelings expressed hit me right between the eyes on a consistent basis for going on 3 years now. And there’s no other series I have an emotional attachment to so many of the characters. Considering how long I’ve been watching anime, that really says something.

Unpopular as in obscure/hardly anyone talks about but I enjoyed: Buso Renkin or Hakata Tonkatsu Ramens. Unpopular as in generally considered bad & I agree : Arifureta or Gibiate

Started watching the Demon Slayer (Kimetsu no Yaiba) recap specials as a refresher before going to see the Mugen Train movie friday evening.

Currently 62F, but predicting an inch of snow overnight and not getting out of the 40s tomorrow

It’s probably more than a little cringey that I’m the only one still posting to this topic, but it continues to be one of the only series I’ve seen where every week there are thoughts/feelings. I need to “put out there”. Still hoping some of the members who posted previously will return or else offer their impressions when they get around to watching. I will use spoiler tags more often to avoid ruining the story. Season 3, episode 3 felt like it covered a lot of separate plot points, the first half being the part I enjoyed most. Gonna be tough waiting another week.

I realize I already recommended some series in these genres in your introduction thread, but would just like to add Shadows House which just started airing recently. Only on episode 2, but lots of mysteries to be answered & definitely datk.

Excellent OP & ED again this season. The ED’s accompanying visuals seem kinda spoilery, but in a reassuring way. This week touched on several of the relationships. Kyo/Tohru Yuki/Machi Shigure/Akito

Temps were in the 60s & finally got a break from the rain. Had to mow the front yard for the first time this year.
