  1. @Wedgy I’m just always looking for an excuse to put my two-cents in (plus I watch waaay too much anime, especially lately ) For action I would recommend Jujutsu Kaisen or Akudama Drive. Similar to Berserk maybe Vinland Saga or Dororo. For something mature, Dorohedoro is extremely violent & has a twisted sense of humor (desperately needs a 2nd season)
  2. Never really understood the popularity of Naruto myself. Prefer My Hero Academia or Demon Slayer. Haven’t seen Special A, but for romcom might want to check out Horimiya.
  3. Welcome to the forums. I have no artistic ability whatsoever And my personal preference is more towards supernatural/fantasy as opposed to horror (Shiki being an exception)
  4. Welcome. It’s ok if you don’t know the name of what you saw, but would be helpful if you could share what you liked about it. Was it action packed? Funny? Emotional or romantic? What got your interest? The art style? The characters’ personalities? Any of that would help members here figure out what to recommend as a starting point.
  5. I remember the OVA series being somewhat funny (kinda did for custody battles what Project Ako did for school girl rivalries ). Never watched the tv series or the version with a more realistic artstyle (Nuku Nuku Dash)
  6. Maybe try Gleipnir. Some other series similar to Elfen Lied, but without the love aspect: Ajin: Demi-human Parasyte - The Maxim Witchblade The Devil Lady also, bit of a stretch but maybe Higurashi - When They Cry
  7. Appropriately enough, the opening notes of this remind me of the Halloween/Michael Myers theme.
  8. Resumed watching Higurashi~When They Cry~True and have been bingeing it over the weekend. My opinion of the first half was that it was inferior to the original, but since it moved beyond those events & made it clearer that this was a sequel instead of just a variation it’s much more interesting.
  9. Haven’t seen the first season yet, but The Devil is s Part-timer is getting a 2nd season https://www.animenewsnetwork.com/news/2021-03-06/the-devil-is-a-part-timer-anime-gets-2nd-season-with-returning-cast/.170314
  10. It’s still a ways off, but season 2 is scheduled for October now. https://www.animenewsnetwork.com/news/2021-03-06/rise-of-the-shield-hero-anime-2nd-season-premieres-in-october-with-crunchyroll-streaming/.170304
  11. With spring/summer coming soon, bought this today
  12. Just finished episode 9 of season 2. Rin’s family is just awesome, though all the series’ characters are wonderful & supportive. Even binge-drinking sensei is straightening up for the benefit of her young charges. While Rin will always be my favorite character for her introverted (but not in a stereotypically negative way) personality, Nadeshiko’s natural enthusiasm makes her a fun character & a perfect bestie for her. I know I’ve said it before, but this is just such a wholesome & upbeat show it does my state of mind good
  13. Thanks for the follow 😁

In regards to your faves, I’m also enjoying Mushoku Tensei, despite certain elements being cringey. And since you like Madoka, I recommend Wonder Egg Priority

Thanks for following me back. 😆 And thanks for the anime recommendation! I was just looking for new anime so this is perfect! I'll definitely check it out!

  14. Watched episode 8 of season 2 last night. Looks like it’s no more Mr. Nice Slime On a related note, pretty sure that “fairy tale” was actually Millim’s origin story.
  15. I don’t think I’ll ever get used to the Universal Studios fanfare playing before Funimation’s new anime episodes

Somehow I was expecting “Bad” instead of “Beat It”.

  17. Welcome to the forums, hope you enjoy it here It’s always mire fun when you can share your interest with others. If character development is your thing, I highly recommend Fruits Basket (the 2019 adaption).
  18. Hard to believe we’re only about a month away from the roster of new series https://www.livechart.me/spring-2021/tv Ironically the ones I’m most hyped for are all continuations or reboots. Of course if you read my posts last year it should come as no surprise that the finale of the Fruits Basket adaption is at the top of my list. I was disappointed in season 4 of My Hero Academia but enjoyed Heroes Rising, so holding onto hope for season 5 (if nothing else the action sequences in the latest trailer looked kickass). I’m curious about the Shaman King reboot (saw a couple episodes of the old Fox 4 Kids version back in the day and thought it looked like it had potential). Definitely looking forward to the continuations of Welcome to Demon School Iruma-kun, Zombieland Saga & Moriarity the Patriot. Not really impressed by the trailers for SSSS.Dynazenon, but SSSS.Gridman turned out better than I expected. Kinda skeptical of Megalobox Nomad & the previous season of How NOT to Summon a Demon Lord was too ecchi for my taste, but will probably give them a look. Not sure what to make of Edens Zero which has some sort of a connection to Fairy Tail but in a scifi setting apparently. And I have no idea why they’re making a new Battle Athletes, but what the heck. As far as the new stuff, ones I’m curious about are Shadow’s House, Mars Red & To Your Eternity. Combatants Will be Dispatched is from the writer of Konosuba & I’ve Been Killing Slimes for 300 Years looks to be the latest of the recent laidback isekai trend. Anyway, is there anything other members are looking forward to or any thoughts on the direction anime seems to be headed in?
  19. Afraid you’ll have to wait until next year for that one https://www.animenewsnetwork.com/daily-briefs/2021-02-28/rent-a-girlfriend-anime-season-2-to-air-in-2022/.170066
