  1. For the 2nd day in a row, temps have been close to 80F. By the end of the week, they say we won’t make it above 60.

  3. Finally got an expected start date for season 2 https://www.animenewsnetwork.com/daily-briefs/2020-11-05/the-promised-neverland-anime-2nd-season-premieres-on-january-7/.166000
  4. Meguminionites or just Meguminions for short
  5. Welcome to the forums, hope you enjoy it here Though I have to say Megumin sporting Naruto hair & headband in your profile comes dangerously close to heresy
  6. Likely an attempt to use nostalgia or the original’s reputation to tap into a pre-existing fandom instead of building one on it’s own merits. While some sequels/reboots/remakes manage to succeed, it’s usually because the previous adaption was incomplete or didn’t do the source material justice (Fruits Basket). Or else managed to redefine itself (Dororo). Unfortunately a lot fail to tap into the appeal of the original like Clear Card (Cardcaptor Sakura) or Magia Record (Madoka). While I’m trying to be patient with this one, so far it seems to be the latter to me.
  7. Pretty sure me & @efaardvark are the outliers around here I think the first anime I watched on VHS as opposed to syndicated tv was either some episodes of Ranma 1/2 or Project A-ko. First subtitled anime were some eps of Slayers. First series I watched subtitled start to finish was Cardcaptor Sakura.
  8. For action: Demon Slayer (Kimetsu no Yaiba), My Hero Academia, Jujutsu Kaisen, Akudama Drive, Golden Kamuy Mecha (kinda): Gurren Lagann, Planet With, Evangelion (tv series & rebuild movies), Godannar (basically Pacific Rim with fanservice) Some of my favorite romance/romcoms are Fruits Basket (2019), ReLife, Recovery of an MMO Junkie, Science Fell in Love...
  9. @Brandonn saw on your MAL that you watched season 1, but didn’t see season 2 listed. You should definitely watch if you haven’t already. I’m already looking forward to the conclusion next year.
  10. Currently 51, started when I was 10 or 11 with Star Blazers.
  11. Welcome to the forums, hope you enjoy it here For something music related, I would recommend checking out Carole & Tuesday. For something similar to Darling in the Franxx , maybe Evangelion or Godannar. As to what I’m enjoying right now, that would be Jujutsu Kaisen & Akudama Drive. Hope you decide to stay around.
  12. If we’re talking sequels, Attack on Titan is what I would consider the obvious choice since it will be the grand finale. It’s actually scheduled to begin in December (the 6th). On the slice of life side of things, I’m looking forward to Yuru (Laidback) Camp in January. While the short series this year was disappointing, I’m hopeful the official second season will recapture what made it my all time 2nd favorite SOL series. If you’re up for some emotional drama, the finale of Fruits Basket (2019) is scheduled for sometime in 2021 (probably April at the earliest). And in closing, it just started airing but I would like to recommend Jujutsu Kaisen which is my favorite currently airing series that will continue on into next year.
  13. The only one of the “Big 3” I enjoyed was One Piece, and I still burned out after about 150 episodes. Part of me would like to get back into it, but considering it is currently 900+ episodes, it’s more than a little intimidating. I burned out on HxH after Greed Island, but a decent chance I’ll try to finish the anime someday. I enjoyed the first 2 seasons of My Hero Academia season immensely, but had mixed feelings about season 3. Honestly have a hard time coming up with positive things to say about season 4. I did enjoy Heroes Rising though, so will give season 5 a shot when it comes out. Probably the longest shounen I enjoyed start to finish was Fullmetal Alchemist Brotherhood (64 episodes).
  14. Your enjoyment will largely depend on how big of a shounen junkie you are. Me personally, I don’t think I made it past a dozen eps. I tend to burn out on shounen series after awhile. Even ones I enjoy have a hard time keeping my interest in the long run. Hard to say it’s “bad”when it enjoyed the popukarity it did, but what I saw seemed overhyped, same thing with Naruto.
  15. Welcome to the forums, hope you enjoy it here I lived in a rural area most of my life, even now more of a suburb where anime fandom isn’t real visible, so glad forums like this exist. I don’t do much gaming anymore, but watch way too much anime at once I’d recommend checking out Jujutsu Kaisen since you like shounen. Afraid I’m not much of a one on one conversationalist, more of a tendency to ramble, but hope you stick around
  16. Welcome to the forums, hope you enjoy it here I see from your MAL you’re watching a lot of the same ongoing series I am. My favorites are Jujutsu Kaisen, Akudama Drive, Moriarty the Patriot. How about you?
  17. https://www.animenewsnetwork.com/news/2020-10-25/kaguya-sama-love-is-war-anime-gets-3rd-season-ova/.165571 The only surprise is that they waited this long to confirm
  18. Welp, I can add By the Grace of the Gods to the list of anime that have brought a tear to my eye.

  19. I think you may be looking for “seinen” series as opposed to “shonen” . Some examples would be Monster, Vinland Saga & Golden Kamuy. I didn’t find Parasyte particularly realistic, but for similar stories you might try Ajin, Tokyo Ghoul or Elfen Lied. You might also like Shiki & Hugurashi When They Cry.
