  1. Yeah, that ending was kinda confusing. On the one hand parts of it seemed to hint at Nine who is the main villain of Heroes Rising who does have a connection to All for One.  But I actually think it’s more likely that Deku experienced a shared memory from one of the previous holders of One for All. Possibly the original, who I believe they said was All for One’s brother who he experimented on.

As for Endeavor, I definitely have some things to say. But I want to review something from an earlier episode & take  some time to compose my thoughts. Even so, it’s probably going to be more than a little rant-y

  2. Kakaushigoto  - unlike Somali & the Forest Spirit, I’m fine with the kid this time. It’s the dad who annoys me with his yelling & spazzing out (though I actually sympathize with his obsession of not letting his daughter know his he earns a living). Chances are there will be some feelz later on based on the opening scene & the mom’s only scene was when Hime was born (which was actually really sweet & the highpoint for me in the episode). Really not feeling it’s sense of humor but will probably give it a couple weeks to hopefully find a balance & see if the characters grow on me.

Do you mind if I ask you about how you got into anime?

First of all, I’ve always been a fan of animation in general (not just anime) for it’s ability to bring imaginary worlds to life. And even when the story us realistic, to create a unique mood through the art style of the background and character designs.

As far as what got me into anime, you need to realize most of what aired during “cartoon” hours when I was a kid were basically 5 - 10 minute comedy skits (Loony Tunes, Tom & Jerry, Popeye, etc) or stuff like Scooby Doo. Even more serioys stuff was like Super Friends. So when I was about 10, a show called Star Blazers started airing. Suddenly, here was a continuous storyline about humanity in a war for survival where characters actually grew as individuals  and  sometimes even died. It would be years later before I realized it was a heavily edited version of an anime called Space Battleship Yamato, but right away it was clearly like nothing else I’d seen before. We lived in a rural area so no cable tv, but watched the series that made their way onto broadcast tv (Voltron, Pokemon, Sailor Moon, Dragonball, Robotech, Mazinger Z & the Galaxy Express 999 movie). Started buying anime on VHS during the 90s thanks to Suncoast, but it was a pretty expensive hobby. DVDs made things a little bit better. Actually fell out of touch when things switched over to streaming since reliable high speed internet wasn’t really available where I lived. Moved into town about 3 years ago & have been making up for lost time since :P )

  4. Every thing I see says a single season with 12, episodes, not even any OVAs. The  demon queen appeared in loli form in episode 10, demon form in episode 11. Only other explanation I can think of is confusion with some unrelated series with similar sounding titles (If it’s for my Daughter, I’d even fight a Demon Lord or maybe Demon Lord Retry

My love of anime started back in the late 70s early 80s, though I just got into streaming about 3 years ago. I’ve seen a lot of series over the decades, but there are still “classics” I haven’t, but will offer what knowledge I do have.

    SAO try Log Horizon

Assassination Classroom try The Ones Within

One Punch Man try Mob Psycho 100 and Tiger & Bunny

  7. Got bored waiting for the new season of shows to start. So watched about 1/2 hour of a horror movie anime called Aragne: Sign of Vermillion. Stupid writing, ugly animation and 🤮 instead of 😱 Not even going to bother finishing. So decided to give Infinite Dendrogram a 3rd try :P Seems like it will at least be decent enough to finish.

  8. So wound up giving it a 3rd try :P Because I got bored with most winter season shows being over & didn’t feel like starting a series from the beginning until I see how the spring season shapes up. Actually finding the 2nd half of the series to be an improvement. Still not living up to it’s potential, but at least we’re getting a bit of insight into who the players are IRL and what motivated them to start the game. And the mad scientist guy is at least entertaining as a villain. Decent enough that I’ll probably finish it.

Azumanga Daioh will always be the definitive SoL series in my opinion. More recently. I really enjoyed Laidback (Yuru) Camp. The recent followup Room (Heya) Camp was rather disappointing (three minutes per episode really isn’t time enough to do anything) & the full season 2 isn’t scheduled until 2021 😥 Some SoL series that mix things up with fantasy elements I recommend Aria (3 seasons), Flying Witch & As Miss Beelzebub Likes It.

As far as shonen series, Demon Slayer (Kimetsu no Yaiba) is probably the best. For ones that are actually completed & not too terribly long there’s Buso Renkin and Ushio & Tora.
