Sci-Fi was a pretty big influence in getting me into anime too. Star Blazers & Robotech were the 2 earliest series to really make an impact on me. That being said, I have yet to actually watch an entry in the Gundam franchise from start to finish (Iron Blooded Orphans was probably the closest I came). I have really been enjoying 86 though & consider it to be one of the better anime in recent years. Nowadays I tend to be drawn to series with a fantasy(D&D) or supernatural/paranormal angle to them. Slice of Life/CGDCT & comedy series tend to be hit or miss with me. Sports & Idol along with BL are probably the genres with the least appeal for me.

Particularly Goldie’s arc. On a similar note, recently put Part 6 of Lupin III on hold to start watching The Woman Called Fujiko Mine (at least the OP lets you know what to expect). And watched the penultimate episode of 86 (Eighty-six). Well worth the nearly 3 month hiatus. Looking forward to the finale next weekend. Though it’s unlikely to wrap-up everything, there may even be another season announced. From the episode title, sounds like the focus will be on Lena, who didn’t get much screentime in the 2nd cour/season.

When it comes to anime, I have a definite preference for series over movies. Plus, I don’t seem to be as fond of Ghibli or highly dramatic/emotional stories (tearjerkers) as a lot of fans. Watched the 1st episode of a series called Ryoko’s Case Files on Retrocrush. I think it would be a serious contender if I bothered to watch any more.

Watched episodes 0 - 2 of Lupin III pt 6 and am intrigued by the way they’re tying into the Sherlock Holmes mythos. I’d attempted to get into Pt 5 when it came out but didn’t care for the feel of it, liking this much better. Despite starting just last year, everything about the style has a retro vibe to it. The CGI for the car chases makes them kind of seem like toys/models, but also gives a sort of Keystone Kops slapstick sense. Didn’t sleep well last night due to abdominal pain that started last night around 9 pm. Picking up 3 prescriptions on my afternoon break, hopefully will offer some relief.

They really went all out on the teaser for season 3 Just a little over a month away, will have to see who picks up the streaming rights.

Caught up on Ranking of Kings. I feel like it’s somewhat overrated but still an enjoyable fairytale style series ( as in folklore, not the series with Natsu & Happy ) Thanks for reminding me I still need to watch the movie for this (already watched the series & the 2 specials). Letting my Netflix subscription lapse after tomorrow so I can switch to HiDive for a month or two (planning to binge the latest season of Takagi & Lupin). Of course I subscribe to CR & Funi year round for seasonal series. I enjoyed seasons 1- 3 but season 4 not so much.
