  1. Attavk on Titan (final season pt 2) despite almost a year long hiatus, had no problem getting right back into the thick of things. The new OP & ED really do an excellent job of show the complexity of the situation Eren is in & the difficulty of the decisions he has to make. No clear idea of how it will end, but going into it full throttle. Demon Slayer (Entertainment District Arc) this arc has had a lot more humor than than the previous ones. But things have gotten really brutal the past couple episodes My Dress-up Darling they really upped the level of fanservice & ecchi in the 2nd ep I actually hope they dial it back a bit now that Gojo-kun is familiar with the inspiration for Marin’s cosplay & has all the necessary measurements (quite a thorough job ). As sexy as Marin can be, I actually prefer the more adorkable side the ED puts on display. EDIT: so of course after saying that episode 3 opens on a cringe moment (I probably shouldn’t be surprised). So kind of a balancing act, but still finding it enjoyable over all.
  2. I actually haven’t watched it yet either, though it’s still on my PTW list. @Kreideprinz comments & yours definitely make me want to check it out. Sorry to hear about your difficulties, hope things gave at least improved somewhat. And good to hear from you after awhile.
  3. wow, that actually sounds pretty dark without context from the episode
  4. Just ordered the Irish Folklore Trilogy Bluray (Secret of Kells, Song of the Sea & Wolfwalkers).
  5. My love of anime goes back quite a while, though I’ve tended to lag behind technologically (just started streaming about 5 years ago ). A lot of folks seem to have moved on from forums to Discord, though I’m more comfortable here. Maybe because I don’t have much of a social media presence. Things were pretty active when I first joined, but slacked off. Though we seem to be getting something of a resurgence lately with new members sticking around & participating.
  6. I’m inclined to think Naruto is the most divisive of that group, largely on the basis of the particularly offensive nickname given to it’s fandom back in the day . I don’t think the term is used as frequently online as it was, but still a significant part of the anime community tends to regard the anime as generic & uninspired. But yet a number of people still list it as one of their favorites & the fact that it’s still ongoing shows it must have some appeal. Sword Art Online is another series that seems to have a fanbase that adores it while many others consider it overhyped. I never finished Alicization, but understood it was supposed to be the finale. But now they’re making an alternate movie version of the first season. I’d also like to point out that a number of anime can be divisive because of the MC’s personality and/or motivation inspires strong opinions. Examples: Light Yagami (Death Note), Shinji Akari (Evangelion), Natsuki Subaru (ReZero), Shiro Emiya (Fate Stay Night). And Eren Jaeger (Attack on Titan) seems to have become increasingly divisive as the final season airs . Finally, although not the MC, I’ve heard many people say that Zenitsu ruins Demon Slayer for them.
  7. Welcome Hope you stay around. I wish I’d known about this place 12 years ago, as I’ve really enjoyed the couple years I’ve been here.
  8. Only about 2 inches of snow from the weekend, so looks like I wound up luckier than a lot.
  9. Welcome, hope you enjoy it here
  10. Cold & gray. On the positive side, they’re not predicting we’ll get much where I live from this winter storm that’s supposed to come through tomorrow & monday. Hope they’re right.
  11. Finishing up 7 Deadly sins (Dragon’s Judgment & Cursed by Light) while finalizing my seasonal watch roster (trying to keep it under 15 so I can check off some PTW series)
  12. Welcome Hope you find things to interest you here.
  13. I’ve always devoted more of my time & money to anime than manga, but these are the manga I’ve been the most invested/interested in; 1. Battle Angel Alita (my #1, no contest) 2. Oh My Goddess 3. xxxHolic (it’s not porn, really) 4. Chibi Vampire (anime name was Karin) 5. Yotsuba (same managaka as Azumanga Daioh) 6. Shadow Star (via Super Manga Blast - kind of a cross between Parasyte & Madoka Magika) 7. Monster Musume (guilty pleasure) 8. Blood Lad 9. Gleipnir (since a season 2 is questionable) 10. Spy x Family(started, but currently waiting on the anime adaption)
  14. I’m not really a fan of Metal, but there are some Metal covers I really like Also, I think it’s considered more hard rock than heavy metal, but I do like me some Def Leppard
  15. I have mine referenced on my profile page, but it’s also supposed to be included in my signature, but I’m not seeing it. Not sure if it’s because I’m viewing it on my phone or if the functionality is broken..
  16. Per my MAL I made it through episode 5. Mildly amusing at first, but got bored of it.
  17. Not entirely sure how to interpret the question. Star Blazers was the one that really opened my eyes to the potential for a “cartoon” to tell a coherent story about grown-up subject matters with actual character development. And it would eventually be the series that first made me aware that anime is actually produced in another country with different cultural & historical perspectives (the whole Argo/Yamato thing). Though that realization would come many years later. As far as an introduction to the quirky weirdness that characterizes otaku “culture”, probably Project A-ko as it was full of satire & parody. And it was one of the first uncut/unedited anime I watched.
